Warhammer 40: Doom

Chapter 314 Ancient Sage's Blessing

Chapter 314 Ancient Sage's Blessing
As the golden light faded, Doom stepped back from the Warp into reality and appeared in the Emperor's Palace.

Before he could speak, his expression changed drastically, and he moved like lightning to the prison van, tearing through the steel with his bare hands and grabbing the gene thief by the throat.

"What have you done!" Doom's keen senses detected that the alien's eyes were white and it was clearly out of its mind.

What to do? To erase my own memories, of course!
In the warp, the chieftain carefully observed, trying to piece together the origins of these humans.

The objective was not achieved, but there were still many gains.

It knew that the toad was an "Ancient Saint," a remnant of a super ancient civilization, and it also knew about the War of Heaven, the Star Gods, the Necromancers of Space, the Warp, and the Chaos Gods.

It can be said that since leaving the insect hive and acting independently, the patriarch's knowledge has been limited to human hives and historical fragments, and he has never understood this new foraging ground from a macro perspective.

As the ancient sage recounted his tale, a magnificent historical panorama unfolded before the patriarch's eyes. He realized that this galaxy was far more chaotic than he had imagined.

And most importantly, there is a God in the universe, a true God!

During his imprisonment, the chieftain fearfully gathered information and constantly plotted his escape, reporting this information to the will of the hive.

Unfortunately, the human guards were too tight, and there was no chance of escape.

After following the humans through the teleportation array and returning to the real universe, the clan leader understood everything.

He had traveled through time and space, from the 40K era of the human calendar back to the 30K era, and this golden man wearing a laurel crown was the best proof of that!

He still walks among humans, not sitting on a golden throne to protect humanity as in the legends.

The patriarch acted decisively, triggering hormones to digest the brain and destroy the future memories he carried.

If the future is altered because of him, the patriarch doesn't know whether the Hive will be able to see the flashes and pinpoint the location of the galaxy in the future.

To ensure the future remains unchanged, it must destroy memories and prevent humans from obtaining any critical information.

"Jie! Jie! Jie!"

As the memories in his mind faded, the clan leader, with his throat gripped, still managed a human-like smile, which was terrifying.

Meanwhile, the moment Sintra saw the Emperor, she leaped to the edge of the palace with her two toad legs, her back pressed against the wall, tears streaming down her face.

After returning to the universe after 60 million years, the first human he saw... was he really a "human"?

In the vision of the ancient saint, beneath that human skin and dazzling radiance lay a pitch-black core, constantly spewing forth destruction and hatred.

Sintra was certain that what she was seeing, while not a god, was definitely not human!
If it weren't for Doom still being there, it would have fled without hesitation!

The scene became somewhat chaotic, with the Xenomorph being choked by the Primarch, the Toad Xenomorph clad in ancient armor, and others escaping.

In Terra, the heart of the Empire, within the palace of the Lord of Mankind, two different alien species even appeared.

This is truly a great blasphemy!
Enraged, the golden-armored imperial guards protecting the palace brandished their spears, ignited a disintegration field, and charged towards the toad-like alien.

"Step back!" A stern voice rang out, sternly halting the Imperial Guards' movements. "Don't frighten our esteemed guest."

After glancing at the unknown alien in Doom's hand, the Emperor straightened his robes, walked towards Sintra, and knelt down.

“Respected elder,” the Lord of Mankind said with a smile, his gentle voice full of respect, “I’m sorry my servant has startled you.”

To express his apology, the emperor stretched out his right hand, trying to pull the ancient saint from the corner to his side.

“They didn’t scare me.” Sintra stiffened her neck and, after confirming that the “humans” in front of her meant no harm, let out a long sigh of relief.

You scared me!
Gu Sheng muttered to himself, stiffly putting the gun back at his waist, sticking out his tongue to lick the sweat off his face and calm his pounding heart.

It gestured that everything was alright, pushed away the large hand outstretched by the person in front of it, and walked back to Doom's side with its weak legs.

Another giant toad!

Harlan saw the figure emerge from the shadows in the corner. Its skin color was different from Prima's, but he was certain they were of the same race.

Macado quickly dismissed the Imperial Guards and rushed towards the Ancient Saint, gently reassuring him, "I'm so sorry to have startled you."

Overwhelmed with emotion, she said in a gentle, comforting voice, "I never imagined that I would have the honor of meeting an elder of the universe in this day and age."

"No, no, no~" Sintra quickly raised her hand to stop the humans from praising her: "The glory of the past is long gone."

As he spoke, a slight smile appeared on his lips; he was somewhat pleased with the respect and flattery from his juniors.

Feeling a little better, it looked at the human in the hemp robe and a hint of surprise flashed in its eyes: "Immortal mutation, I never thought you had such good fortune."

The ancient sage, with his eyes that see into the essence of things, naturally recognized that Macardo was an immortal being.

“It’s both a blessing and a curse.” Makado’s smile vanished, replaced by respect and gentleness on his wrinkled face. The Imperial Chancellor couldn’t hide his joy; he hadn’t felt this excited since the end of the technological age.

A living ancient sage, a rare find in the secular world, a supreme treasure walking in the universe.

The emperor realized it, and so did the prime minister.

If we can get help from the ancient races, why worry about the failure of the Internet Dao? Humanity's chances of escaping the warp will increase even further.

Sintra nodded, her short legs making her run even faster, hopping and skipping towards Doom's side, seeking a sense of security.

It sensed the greedy gaze, the greed that wanted to devour it whole, crush it, and squeeze it clean.

Seeing that his goodwill was not working, the Emperor was not discouraged. He exchanged glances with Macardo, and they began to conspire together in a somewhat treacherous manner.

The two approached Doom without disturbing the Ancient One, their gazes fixed on the alien creature he held in his hand.

"What is this?" The emperor dispersed the golden light and asked in a low voice about the origin of the ugly monster.

Doom dropped the Genestealer on the ground. "It comes from the future and is called the Genestealer."

Golden lightning shot from the Emperor's eyes, pouring into the alien's eyes, attempting to use psychic powers to read minds and obtain some information about the future.

Doom allowed the Emperor to wield his psionic powers.

Although the alien had tampered with his memories, he sensed some residual information.

He sensed a familiar presence in the house.

Harlan hurriedly stepped forward, a genuine smile on his handsome, ferocious face. He had completed his mission and found the Lord of the Oath.

He punched Doom in the arm, and the two exchanged a knowing smile.

That's what deep friendship is like. When you meet, you don't need to burst into tears or hug passionately. A glance or a gesture is enough for you to understand each other.

"Let me see your weapon." The brothers met, but were interrupted by a loud, thumping voice.

The ancient saint at Doom's feet raised his hands to Harlan, gesturing for him to hand over his weapon so he could see it.

Receiving a reassuring look from Doom, Harlan generously handed over the Dark Light to the Ancient One.

"My darling~" With the weapon in hand, Sintra's expression changed. She rubbed her face against the dark light and even licked the gun handle with her tongue.

Harlan's lips twitched as he saw the expression on Harlan's face, but he didn't want to snatch the weapon. Meanwhile, Makado, who was standing to the side, seemed to be deep in thought.

The champion swordsman was rather indifferent to the ancient saint, even showing some impatience, lacking the curiosity one would have upon first encountering an unknown species.

The weapon's origin was also unknown; Harlan always held it in his hand and never showed it to anyone.

The Ancient Ones' attitudes toward weapons and Harlan's attitude toward the Ancient Ones suggest a deep connection between them, and that Harlan may have even had contact with the Ancient Ones!
Makado's gaze swept over Doom's back, not daring to linger too long; he had discovered Doom's little secret.

"Sniff~sniff~"

The ancient sage twitched his nostrils, greedily inhaling the scent of the dark light, his tone somewhat sorrowful: "I forged it, and before I even had a chance to bless it, it was hastily thrown into the battlefield."

"My most prized creation, it's so good to see you again!"

As Sintra spoke, her voice choked with emotion, and tears streamed from her large eyes, adding a few dark spots to the red carpet.

Just as Harlan was feeling nauseous, the Ancient Saint held up the Dark Light and said to him, "You have drunk the primordial essence and are qualified to wield it. Do not disgrace my creation."

It kissed the gun handle, whispering ancient sacred words, its voice transforming into runes that danced and merged into the gun's body as it chanted.

Doom understood the obscure blessing.

"The Fiery Hammer of the Starbreaker awakens you from your slumber. With the fury of the furnace in hand, all things submit to its blade."

May whoever wields this blade be invincible!

Harlan sheathed his weapon. He couldn't understand the ancient sacred language, but he felt it was very powerful, and the weapon in his hand seemed to be a little different.

The Emperor withdrew his psychic powers, receiving no information about the future. The abominable alien irreversibly dissolved its brain in an instant to prevent information leakage.

However, he had no news about the future, but he did learn a lot about the habits of the aliens.

Just then, a troop of imperial guards appeared at the entrance of the palace. They were dressed in black armor, but the decorations and reliefs on their armor were in gold.

(Guys, the sewer burst! It's spraying sewage straight out, I almost clogged the toilet sitting down!)
