Warhammer 40: Doom

Chapter 120 Legion! Legion!

Chapter 120 Legion! Legion!
The Space Marine legions of the Imperium of Man, aboard drop pods, resisted the increasing atmospheric drag with superhuman endurance.

Two thousand five hundred airdrop pods, carrying ten thousand Death Angels, crashed into the alien homeworld.

The alien city on the ground saw a dense streak of meteors streaking across the sky, and its cold, beastly eyes contracted in horror.

The once mighty human race has long since fallen. Where did the current human race come from, and when will they rise again?
When the human slaves looked up at the sky, the densely packed airdrop pods ignited hope. They would not mistake them for technological creations made by humankind.

Fear gripped the skies of Salzburg. The drop pod whistled through the air as its tail ignited to maintain speed, foreshadowing the Legion's imminent arrival on alien land.

The alien warriors, eager to fight, set off for the landing site before the humans even landed.

Their weapons await bloodshed, and they are determined to drive out any humans who set foot on their home planet.

As the airdrop pod crashed to the ground, Space Marines clad in blue and white power armor stepped onto the crystallized sand, and the war between humans and sand lizards officially began.

The sand lizards burst out of the city, diving into the sand like fish to avoid long-range fire, and quickly charged toward the war dog legion, intending to destroy the human landing site.

"Protect the landing zone!"

Legion Commander Locke was the first to rush out of the airdrop pod. He was the temporary ground commander in charge of setting up the landing zone.

He glanced at the sand dust kicked up by the sand lizards swimming rapidly and ordered the legion soldiers to hold their positions and cover the landing forces later.

Those lowly aliens dared to charge at the war dogs—a scene that would never have occurred in previous battles.

Today, the war dogs are bound by the genetic code and must restrain themselves in order to achieve victory in the grand strategy.

"For the Emperor! For the Primarch!"

Locke activated the power axe in his right hand, ignited the promethium engine in the chainsaw sword in his left hand, and shouted for the Emperor and the Primarch.

He led his men to hold the line, providing cover for the landing zone and clearing the area to await support.

Like fish leaping out of the water, the sand lizards roared, using their own language to shout battle cries to defend their homeland.

Close combat!

There was no long-range firefight; the first ground engagement between the two sides was a brutal close-quarters battle.

Ten thousand Space Marines fought a bloody battle along a five-kilometer-long front.

They have berserkers who can kill enemies in close combat and withstand enemy melee charges, as well as marksmen who provide cover fire from the rear to protect their brothers in front.

"Disgusting creature! Face the wrath of the Empire!"

Kahn, wielding two chainsaw axes, roared wildly, his monomolecular saw blades chewing up death.

The sand lizard warriors were hissing, wielding their high-frequency weapons that emitted teeth-grinding high-frequency sound waves.

Mixed with the vibrations inherent in their scales, they produce an unbearable noise that infects the enemy's auditory system.

The Legion warriors activated Lyman's Ear, shielding themselves from the sand lizards' sonic interference, and engaged in battle, brandishing their weapons.

The Space Marines' power was on full display at this moment.

Their melee weapons cleaved through the sand lizards' scales and tore their bodies apart with abandon.

The body, modified by the emperor, sheds its blood in a savage battle, relentlessly slaughtering the surging sand lizards.

Despite their inferior physical strength, the Space Marines' overall combat capabilities far surpass those of the Sand Lizards, thanks to their agility and swift reflexes.

Kahn was undoubtedly a star on the battlefield, his chainsaw axe swinging incessantly, the kill counter numbers jumping wildly.

He stood amidst a pile of alien corpses, his red blood staining his blue and white armor, relentlessly slaughtering his human enemies.

With the Sand Lizard's psionic energy suppressed, the psionic illusions had little effect on the Space Marines' minds, resulting in a completely equal battle.

The high-frequency blade tore through the human power armor; the claws and hiss were equally deadly, and the ferocious power could send enemies flying.

At the landing site front, the first batch of 10,000 Space Marines were fighting against the endless stream of Sand Lizards.

The blood flowing from both sides boiled on the still-scorching sand, a testament to their irreconcilable hatred.

"Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding~"

Kahn sensed something hitting his power armor and immediately retreated to avoid close combat.

Not only him, but the legion's soldiers made decisions extremely quickly, with most choosing to retreat.

The sand lizard's retinue arrived; they were shorter than the warriors and advanced slowly, carrying automatic weapons.

Among the auxiliary forces, the Space Marines spotted humans, emaciated and numb, firing their weapons.

The fleet in orbit did not stop, and new airborne troops arrived quickly.

Soon, another whooshing sound came from the sky. This time it wasn't a Space Marine drop pod, but a Mortal Support Force landing ship. "Brothers! Hold the line! Primarch reinforcements have arrived!"

Legion Commander Locke raised his weapon and cheered with excitement. He never expected that the mortal troops would be on the ground in less than two minutes of close combat.

In my excitement, I marveled at the power of the Primogen; such a command and control ability was simply unbelievable.

The mortal legion strode out of the landing ship, their formation already completed inside the cabin, ready to fight the moment they landed.

Quickly enter the battlefront centered on Space Marines and provide ranged fire support for the powerful demigod warriors.

Mechanics members installed shield generators to ensure the landing site was protected from heavy fire.

In the second largest city on the Sand Lizard homeworld, within the landing zone established by the Legion, the Imperial army gained a foothold.

The aliens became even more frenzied, and as all the city gates opened, sand lizard warriors and their minions poured out under the protection of the psionic shield.

With too many minions, the sand lizards also burrowed underground to avoid artillery fire and the powerful long-range firepower of humans.

Even more formidable are the sand lizard warriors, who infiltrate from underground outside the battle lines and charge directly into the human ranks, attacking their weak points.

For a time, the fearless sand lizards caused considerable trouble for the human forces.

"Retreat to the shield's protective range!"

The members of the Cult of Mechanics were screaming, their cold, mechanical voices surprisingly laced with anxiety and excitement: "The Titan Throne will arrive in twenty seconds!"

The urgent roars in the communication channel pulled the warhounds back from their relentless advance; no one could ignore the Titan's sudden appearance from the sky.

Within twenty seconds, the mechanical instructor timed precisely, and an immense pressure descended from the sky as three Titan thrones crashed down around the landing site.

Rumble!
The mortals knelt down amidst the violent tremors, closing their eyes and crouching to maintain their balance, while the Space Marines also lowered their bodies, taking a moment to rest amidst the fierce impact.

Only members of the Cult of Mechanics observed the shield readings, chanting praises of Om Messiah and marveling at the great power of the machines.

Outside the shield, the army of sand lizards and the lurkers in the sand were shaken to death by the enormous impact.

As the smoke cleared, the Titan Throne stood tall outside the shield, and as the hatch opened, three Titan warriors slowly rose from the throne.

"The Titan Machine has arrived! Destroy the enemy of Ohm Messiah!"

The thirty-meter-tall Titan warriors, following the Primarch's instructions, slowly retreated to the side of the battle line, unleashing a barrage of firepower at the alien nest, suppressing the sand lizard's psionic barrier.

"You can rest for a while now; the aliens don't dare to come out anymore."

The Primarch's voice came through the communication channel; his voice was reassuring, calming hearts that were pounding fiercely from the fighting.

As his voice fell, five Stormhawks descended from the sky, and ten tall figures emerged, along with ten members of the Mechanicus.

Doom, acting on Doom's orders, arrives on the ground battlefield to carry out a critical mission.

The most difficult thing to deal with about the psychic sand lizards is not their powerful bodies, but the superimposed psychic energy fields they create when they come together.

They only need to stand together, and the combined spiritual energy field will serve as a shield, providing an inexhaustible source of energy.

The bombardment by the macro guns and the ground fire strikes were not very effective and were a waste of time, which was exactly what Doom needed most.

We must capture the city as soon as possible and seize a foothold, otherwise the enemy's home planet reinforcements will surround us, and it will be a tough tug-of-war.

After a brief negotiation, the Doom Slayer, having landed on the ground, boarded the Stormhawk again and headed to the mission location.

Light spears rained down from the sky, crashing into the alien city, while the psychic shields shimmered incessantly.

"This is it."

The five-man Doomsday squad left the main battlefield aboard Stormhawks and arrived at an open jungle area.

The towering alien city is home to a large population, and their water source is located far outside the city, with underground pipes leading directly to the alien city.

Standing above the pipe, you can feel the vibration even through the soil.

"The aliens are caught in a siege and are drawing water resources to ensure they have enough water."

"We need to be quick. These pipes will shut down soon. The aliens aren't stupid."

Onis was urging the Mechanicians to hurry up and dig the mud into the pipes.

The ten of them planned to follow the waterway into the city to give the hideout aliens a surprise.

In the first major battle of the Father of Genetics, the Son of Destruction felt a chill in his heart and dared not relax for a moment.
