Warhammer 40: Doom
Chapter 118 Legion Assemble
Chapter 118 Legion Assemble
Alien warriors possess psychic abilities that enhance their physical strength and allow them to create terrifying psychic illusions that render ordinary soldiers incapable of fighting in fear.
High-ranking shamans can skillfully wield spiritual power and use various spells.
The Fifth Legion assessed that the Psionic Sand Lizards possessed extremely high war potential, with the entire race having millions of mature warriors, hundreds of millions of lower-ranking servant soldiers, and a large number of shamans.
They occupy eighteen densely packed star systems, with a sphere of influence spanning fifty light-years.
The only thing limiting their expansion is their immature navigation technology, which relies on reverse engineering human legacy technologies for interstellar travel.
"How do we fight?" Ruth licked his fangs and looked at his brother.
Despite lacking formal military training, his innate war instincts allowed him to skillfully plan combat operations.
He asked Doom, the king who had received systematic military training, if he would be willing to offer advice.
"You do your thing, I'll do mine."
Without any hesitation, Doom explained his war strategy: "Find their core world, and I will lead my warhounds to the main world to lure the aliens back to their aid."
"You hunt on the periphery, drive them to retreat and tighten their defenses, use the mobility of the Imperial fleet to cut off the returning fleet, and resolve the battle in space."
“That’s the plan.” Ruth patted his chest in approval, giving his final approval to the overall strategy set by Doom.
He also knew that the core of his brother's strategy was to save the billions of humans enslaved in more than a dozen star systems.
Lure the main force back to defend, the wolf pack gradually destroys the weak outer defenses of the world, eliminates the enemy fleet in the void, and wipes out the enemy's manpower.
Then, when the time is right, destroy the Xenomorph's throne world and completely wipe out the entire race.
"I'm counting on you!" Doom earnestly instructed Torrus, who would descend upon the alien core for a protracted war.
The key to victory was Ruth's Space Wolves, tasked with annihilating all returning reinforcements.
"I will be your most reliable support!" Ruth knew that his responsibility was heavy, and his brother had entrusted everything to him.
"Cheers to victory!" Ruth raised his glass.
The Fenrisians offered them mead, which Doom and Ruth drank to their hearts' content, and they finalized the details of the battle.
The Glory Queen-class warship trembled amidst the roar of its subspace engines as the Herafnkel officially set sail from the Solar System for the alien-infested Eastern End System.
Within the Eastern End Starfield, the Twelfth Legion's forces are gathering, and a powerful force is converging at the assembly point, preparing to deliver a powerful blow to the aliens.
"Kahn, look!" The current commander of the Twelfth Legion, through the porthole of the Queen of Glory, witnessed the Imperial ships tearing through the warp curtain and surging into the real universe like a torrent of steel.
Legion Commander Locke shook his head with a sigh; the scale of this war seemed rather enormous.
The Empire summoned the Warhounds, along with the warriors of the Fourth, Seventh, and Fifteenth Legions, to come under the command of a Great Primarch.
And all the fleets and soldiers of the Sixth Legion continued to arrive to meet their Primarch.
Two main legion commanders, and two Primarch commanders.
What an honor it is for several Space Marine Legions to send personnel to assist the two Primarchs in battle.
What kind of trust does an emperor have in sending his bravest war dogs to participate in a glorious war?
Kahn, the company commander of the 8th Assault Company, also saw the ever-present light of the warp and exclaimed with deep emotion, "The scale of this war far exceeds our imagination."
Since embarking on the Great Crusade, Kahn had never seen a fleet of this size, with more than 100,000 Space Marines assembled.
He looked forward to the glory of conquest, but also worried that the intensity of the war would cause heavy casualties among his elite assault dogs.
The legion is not led by their genetic father, but by another genetic principal.
Kahn was never afraid of death; dying on the battlefield was the best end for a warrior. What worried him was how his war dogs would be used.
Like two people fighting, the warhound is the weapon in the Primarch's hand.
Will he use skill to kill his opponent, or will he use brute force to break the blade of his weapon?
"How will the Primarch use us?" Kahn made no attempt to hide his concern; the man before him was the Legion Commander, who loved the Legion more than anyone else.
“I don’t know…” Locke shook his head, feeling a sense of bewilderment for the first time regarding the fate of the legion.
The fate of the Legion is no longer in the Legion's hands, but in the hands of a Primarch.
The two resolute men gradually fell silent as they pondered the future of the legion, gazing at the dazzling starry sky outside the porthole and the ever-approaching fleet.
"The Primarch of the Twenty-First Legion, what kind of person is he?"
"Kahn suddenly asked, his voice, hardened by war, clear with a hint of curiosity. "I don't know either..." Legion Commander Locke shook his head again, his confusion overwhelmed today: "I heard from the brothers from Terra that the Emperor personally prepared an unprecedented ceremony to welcome his return."
“Then he must be an extraordinary being.” Kahn nodded repeatedly, his eyes filled with anticipation: “Our father of genes will probably be very popular when he returns.”
Locke smiled, gazing at the vast void with an equally expectant expression.
"They've arrived," the legion commander said, a hint of unease flashing across his face as he noticed the discord in the air: "The Fifteenth Legion."
The news spread throughout the combat legions. Knowing which legions would be coming, they couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion when they actually saw them.
The Fifteenth Legion is small in number and has always acted in secrecy. Rumor has it that the genetic seeds of their cousins are unstable, and that some flesh and blood mutations often occur.
Such negative rumors caused many Space Marine legions to keep their distance from them.
Time passed quickly, the assembled fleet gradually dwindled, and the galaxy gradually returned to calm. The enormous fleet hovered tightly in the void, filling the entire galaxy.
The Space Marines, however, were far from calm; on the contrary, their anticipation grew stronger with each passing moment.
As the warp rift opened, the Glory Queen returned to the real universe, proudly displaying her presence, and thunderous cheers erupted in the communication channels.
Everyone knows that two great Primarchs, the Emperor's two offspring, have graced the stars.
"Welcome, Great Primarch!"
The dense communication channels echoed with the humble voices of soldiers and captains, who greeted the arrival of the two distinguished beings with their lowly tones.
"Twelfth Legion flagship, prepare to receive the Primarch."
Without any return gift, the Primarchs accepted the humility from the mortals with equanimity; their presence was a symbol of authority.
As the teleportation light flashed, everyone on the bridge of the Warhound Legion's Glory Queen flagship knelt down.
"Get up."
His voice was steady and deep, gentle yet powerful, and no one dared to disobey him.
As the Legion warriors rose, they saw the Primarch for the first time, so great and powerful.
The emperor's son, with a powerful physique and a heroic face, sat on the throne and declared his authority.
She wore a simple skirt armor around her waist, combat boots on her feet, her thighs and upper body were bare, her shoulder armor was fastened to her waist with interlaced leather belts, and she was draped in a red cloak.
Upon seeing him for the first time, some people even knelt down again, not daring to desecrate the original body's glorious and heroic appearance.
He was accompanied by thirty soldiers from the Twenty-First Legion, who stood in two rows guarding the throne. The Primarch looked down upon his humble subjects like a great monarch.
"Report!" Doom said softly, wanting to know if the warriors he had requested were in place.
"Frix, Fourth Legion, pays homage to the Primarch and brings you two thousand Legion warriors."
"The Seventh Legion—Appius, paying homage to the Primarch, brings you two thousand Legion warriors."
"The Fifteenth Legion—Azek Ahriman, pays homage to the Primarch and brings you one hundred Legion warriors."
"Loch, commander of the Warhound Legion, pays homage to the Primarch. The Warhound Legion awaits your command."
Doom nodded, his gaze sweeping over the Legion representatives, these resolute warriors who stood tall to accept the Primarch's scrutiny.
To ensure everything went smoothly, Doom deployed the siege fighters of the Fourth Legion, the defenders of the Seventh Legion, and the psionic warriors of the Fifteenth Legion.
His gaze fell upon the red-robed mechanical sage, whose sharp eyes filled him with trepidation. He immediately knelt before the Primarch once more: "Two Titan legions await your command."
"Six hundred thousand Sun Auxiliary Army soldiers are at your command."
The mortal officers, wearing tall velvet hats, also knelt down to take an oath and report to the Primarch that the army was ready to go.
"All warships of the Warhound, one Titan Legion, and the mortal auxiliary forces follow me. Other legions should concentrate their warriors on the capital ships and follow. The remaining warships and other ships will be under the command of Rus."
In a simple sentence, the military resources were divided, separating the void warships and landing ships, and giving a clear allocation.
"Russ, the Void Fleet is yours!"
Doom gave a briefing over the communicator, then addressed the legion leaders on the bridge: "Move quickly! We must depart ahead of schedule!"
