Warhammer 40: Doom

Chapter 102 Target: Terra! Let's Go!

Chapter 102 Target: Terra! Let's Go! (Thank you all for the donations! I'm so grateful!)

On the Ring of Nur, Dhum sat in the palace, dealing with matters that required his decision.

Conquering the Nur stars was no easy task; over the course of thirty years, Doom faced countless challenges.

More difficult than conquering is ruling, leading Nur back to glory, and venturing into deeper space.

The people of the Nur Stars are filled with anticipation for their homeland and hold unwavering faith in their ruler, Dum.

During the thirty years of Doom's rule, the Nur stars gradually submitted, and civilization flourished.

The population and reproduction laws that were once enacted due to planetary resource issues have been repealed, and now Nur's population is rapidly increasing.

As for genetic degeneration, the problem of genetic degeneration among the Golden Man was so severe that even the Stone Man Musala and his team were helpless.

In the end, it was Doom who sought out the Life Forger Prima and obtained the "Gene Recipe" from him. With the help of the Stone Golem's technology, he stabilized the declining genes.

Among the stars of Nuer, much technology was recycled, and a large number of STC templates were restarted.

Although civilization has indeed degenerated, the inhabitants of the Nur Stars maintain a relatively prosperous life.

With the help of intelligent machines, everyone will have enough to eat and wear, and everyone can learn knowledge.

However, Doom's rule over the Nur Stars still involved strict ideological education to prevent another invasion of Chaos.

The Dark Guardian Academy moved to the Ring of Nur, expanding its size by hundreds of times to accept students from other worlds.

The academies from other worlds, whose lifespans and physical strength cannot compare to those of the Nightguard, have had training programs tailored specifically for them by Doom.

These mortal warriors will serve as an auxiliary force to assist the Night Guard in large-scale battles.

To facilitate coordinated operations, Doom specifically wrote a "Code of War" for both sides to learn from each other.

The various forging worlds in the void were restarted by Sophia and the Stone Golem, and they continuously produced warships.

Doom awakened a portion of the Iron Men, granting them the freedom to choose.

Those willing to continue fighting for Nur were sent to the fleet to serve as fleet commanders or staff officers.

Those who do not wish to fight can live among the stars of Nur and lead a slow, idyllic life.

Doom granted them "citizenship," meaning they were not to be treated as slaves; everything depended on the Iron Man's decision.

But there is only one condition: the Iron Man can never betray Nur, and he swears an oath to Dum.

Upon the enactment of this decree, the Iron Men swore allegiance, and some who had planned to return to rural life even expressed their willingness to rejoin the army.

They are willing to take up arms and protect Nur again.

After thirty years of conquest and development, the war potential of the Nur Star System is gradually being unleashed, but its population has become its biggest weakness.

The armaments produced in the world of casting are left unused, and the warships remain sealed in the void, waiting for someone to take them over.

Sofia once suggested that some "forbidden technologies" could be used, such as artificial wombs, to create a large workforce in a short period of time.

After careful consideration and a series of trials, Doom rejected the proposal.

He knew all too well that Nur's enemies were chaos, the evil of the warp.

Doom could see right through the fact that the people cultivated in the artificial womb had flawed souls and were inherently less resistant to chaos.

Doom was constantly preparing for the return of chaos.

In his future plans, he wants to build the Nur Stars into an impregnable fortress and forge their will into a sharp blade.

“My lord, Harlan is back.” Sophia appeared beside the desk, slightly enlarging her image; otherwise, at the original projection size, she wouldn’t even be able to touch the desktop.

"Has the resistance alliance been completely wiped out?" Doom asked without looking up, continuing to sign decrees with his quill pen.

“No,” Sophia answered truthfully, pulling up the battle report: “According to Turing’s log, they encountered an accident during the pursuit and let one ship escape.”

"Have new ships gone in pursuit?"

"Yes, sir, other warships have taken over the pursuit."

"So what was the accident?" Doom continued to ask, believing that with Harlan's abilities, ordinary accidents wouldn't be able to harm him.

"They are docking their ships; you'll see them soon."

Doom nodded slightly and quickened his pace, finishing the last few documents.

He sighed inwardly. Compared to dealing with these documents, he would much rather be a soldier and go to the front lines to fight to his heart's content.

If it weren't for Sofia's help in processing the documents, the desktop would have been piled high with files. As Doom finished processing the documents and leaned back in his chair to rest, commotion arose outside the throne room.

The sound of armor colliding with the ground was mixed with many more unfamiliar sounds of armor.

Harlan, as required, put restraints on Gerhan and others to prevent them from suddenly attacking and injuring people.

Although he felt it was all the same, it was somewhat unlikely that this group would take down Doom.

Gerhan and the others were amazed by what they saw and heard, and felt like a bunch of country bumpkins.

The bustling scenery and cultural atmosphere here are unmatched, even by the Throne World.

Upon entering the throne room, they saw the giant seated on the throne. The Space Marines knew at first glance that only the Primarch could possess such a magnificent form.

The Space Marine straightened his back, suppressing his excitement, and strode forward with the Night Guard.

Harlan was somewhat surprised by the change in the demeanor of these human empire soldiers; they resembled soldiers undergoing inspection.

Doom was also somewhat surprised to see that the people Harlan brought back seemed to be in awe of him.

"Great Primarch! Son of the Emperor! The Fifth Legion Space Marines pay you the highest tribute."

As they approached, before Harlan could even order the prisoners to kneel, they knelt down on one knee and loudly praised Doom's majesty.

? ? ? ? ?

Harlan looked at Doom, then at the kneeling prisoner, his gaze shifting between the two.

What is a Primarch? What is a Son of the Emperor? What is a Space Marine? And what is the Fifth Legion?
Doom's gaze fell on the kneeling Space Marines; their respect seemed genuine, not feigned.

"Get up." His voice was calm, yet carried an inexplicable air of authority.

Gerhan and the others dared not delay, and stood up from the ground, standing so that they could be directly examined by a Primarch.

Perhaps it was an innate suppression in their genes, but just a casual glance was enough to make the valiant Space Marines break out in a cold sweat.

Only then did they realize that the Primarch before them was as mighty and godlike as Horus.

“Tell me what you know.”

His calm tone carried an unyielding strength, and even the fearless Space Marine felt a slight tremor at that moment.

Unlike his attitude towards Harlan, Gerhan knelt down again with his brothers: "I will tell you everything I know!"

Soon, Gerhan told Doom everything he knew.

The emperors who rise from Terra, ignite the galaxy's starlight, and recreate humanity's glorious expedition.

Harlan listened with great emotion, and from the Space Marine's powerful narration, he seemed to see a grand vision.

Doom also learned for the first time that the person who created him was the "Emperor" and that he had twenty brothers.

Twenty-one Space Marine legions, created using the Primarch as a template, are on a mission to conquer the galaxy.

The throne room remained silent for a long time. Doom let out a long sigh: "Let's go back to Terra."

Gerhan and the others were excited. What glory could compare to bringing back a Primarch?
"Release them." Doom gestured for Harlan to release the restraints and slowly rose. "The Void Lone Ranger is ready for its voyage. Destination: Terra."

"I will obey your command." Sophia appeared and disappeared again, then went down to prepare for the long voyage.

Gerhan and others were already used to it; under the rule of the Primarch, it was normal for some "friendly intelligence" to appear.

Once the Void Lone Ranger was ready, Doom, along with the Space Marines, Harlan, and Stoneman Musala, boarded the ship and prepared to head to Terra.

Navigator Franshka was waiting on the spaceship early in the morning. She had grown into a beautiful woman, much more independent, and no longer timid.

"Let's go." Doom sat on the throne, indicating that they could depart.

The Fifth Legion was awestruck by the grandeur of the Primarch's flagship and stood motionless to the side, not daring to make any move.

The Void Lone Ranger's warp engine activated, tearing a warp rift in the real universe at the bow of the ship.

As the ship entered, it left the real universe and entered the illusory subspace.

"Channel lock successful." Franshka leaned back in her chair, slowly closing her eyes, and used her single eye on her forehead to observe the subspace turbulence: "My lord, with you here, our path ahead is clear."

"Destination Terra, Void Solo, depart!"

(Horus! I'm fucking here! Where the hell are you?)
