The fuselage design features a normal aerodynamic shape, a diamond-shaped nose, parallelogram-shaped air intakes, a butterfly-shaped wing at the rear, and outward-canted twin vertical tails. The entire design looks like a smaller version of the F-22!
In this era, they certainly wouldn't have access to the F-22's design data; they probably just combined the plans that Qin Liang used to fool the Americans back then.
Well, the overall design is conventional, without much advanced performance. It's fair to say that the chances of success are high.
