Chapter 41 The Dream of the Wild Dog
Chapter 41 The Dream of the Wild Dog (Part Two)
“My name is Illusionary Erosion,” said the rogue ninja who appeared to be a cultivator. “I am a member of the Black Erosion Clan, and in my name, I can guarantee your departure.”
"Black Eclipse Clan—" The wooden clone's voice was calm, yet it precisely caught the gaps in the other's words. "So, Mr. Illusion Eclipse, can you make a promise on behalf of the entire Black Eclipse Clan? Will the leader of the Tea Mountain Gang, Lord Beast Guard, agree? What about your companions?" Each question was like a stone thrown into a deep pool, probing the undercurrents beneath the surface.
Just as Huan Shi was about to continue speaking, he suddenly became alert.
wrong!
His goal was to extract information!
Delaying will only increase the chances of things going wrong. My carefully planned technique is ready; I can't wait any longer!
“Naturally…” he mumbled in response, but before he could finish speaking, his right hand, which had been hidden under his wide robe, suddenly rose up! The old bronze bell on his wrist, engraved with the character “food”, trembled violently!
"Ding--!"
The bell rang shrilly, like a death knell.
Almost the instant the bell rang, the floor, walls, and even the ceiling of the room where the wooden clone was located suddenly lit up!
Several dark red lines twisted and spread like the blood vessels of a living creature, instantly outlining a complex sealing array.
A scorching heat accompanied by a surge of dark red light made the air seem to ignite! Several chains made of pure energy, radiating an ominous red light, shot out from the core of the array like venomous snakes that had smelled blood, swiftly piercing through the spot where Xiu Si stood!
However, after successfully launching the attack, the ominous signs in the mind did not disappear; instead, they began to rage!
"Tsk-!"
The window on the other side shattered with a deafening crash! Wood chips and shards of glass exploded and scattered in the midday sun, reflecting a blinding, cold light. A figure shot out from within, his movements swift and decisive, tracing a rapid arc through the air before landing steadily in the center of the empty, deathly silent street below, shrouded in martial law. Dust billowed as he landed, his figure facing the shadowy corner where Huan Shi was hiding.
"A decent trap," Xiu Si commented. "Unfortunately, it was a bit too slow."
A flicker of anger at being looked down upon had just risen in Huan Shi's heart when he forcibly suppressed it back into the cold abyss. He couldn't get angry; that was a trap.
He said nothing more, his hands moving in a blur. Several cross-shaped shuriken, gleaming with an eerie light, flew from his hands, spinning and tearing through the air, striking Shuji from above, below, and below!
At the same time, his left hand moved so fast that only blurry light and shadow remained as he formed hand seals.
Several smaller sealing spells, each shimmering with a dark red light, instantly appeared in the shadows of the bluestone slabs beneath their feet and the mottled walls on either side!
These techniques, like thirsty insects, frantically sucked up and stirred the surrounding air and dissipated chakra energy the moment they appeared, creating an invisible, swampy vortex of distorted force fields around Shuuji.
Faced with the shuriken hurtling towards him and the force field traps silently unfolding on the ground, Shuji's eyes narrowed slightly. As a clone, he had a limited amount of chakra. He didn't have the ability to continuously refine chakra like his main body. His main body was too far away, so he couldn't use techniques that consumed too much chakra to maintain his existence.
He lightly touched the ground covered with gravel with his toes, dodging the shuriken while avoiding the sluggish feeling caused by the miniature force field traps under his feet.
The ninja tools were driven deep into the wall and ground behind him, making a dull "thud" sound. In the brief moment of dodging, his hands had already quietly completed the hand seals.
Wind Release: Chiba Cutter
He slammed his palms together in front of his chest! A pale blue whirlwind, condensed to its extreme, suddenly appeared less than a foot in front of him! This whirlwind was not a violent hurricane, but rather a rapidly spinning circular wind shield, forcibly compressed and condensed from countless fine, hair-like, high-speed rotating and cutting wind blades!
Several more shuriken struck the rapidly spinning miniature wind shield, creating a deafening cacophony of metal scraping and tearing sounds.
The shuriken, like fragile pieces of paper, were mercilessly cut, twisted, and torn into countless glittering fragments amidst the swirling, violent wind blades, clattering and scattering across the surrounding walls and ground.
"Wind Release: Turbulent Arrow!"
The Indian style changed again! Several pale white air arrows, visible to the naked eye and formed from highly compressed air, shot directly towards the Phantom Eclipse's true form in the shadows of the street corner!
However, just as the air arrow reached halfway, several other miniature sealing spells that had already lit up under Huan Shi's feet and beside him suddenly blazed with red light!
"Puff puff!"
A series of muffled explosions rang out. The pale white air arrows collided with the dark red force field vortex, like stones thrown into a viscous swamp. Their speed decreased sharply, their shapes distorted, and they were eventually completely swallowed and annihilated by the writhing dark red light, leaving only a few wisps of chaotic air.
Just as the energy arrow vanished, Huan Shi's fluorescent green eyes suddenly lit up!
Right now! We've got it!
"Hoh..." A suppressed groan of ecstasy and pain squeezed out from deep in his throat. The cold copper coin that he had been holding tightly in his canines to suppress the turmoil within him was suddenly spat out!
The copper coin, glistening with a trace of saliva, tumbled through the air, tracing a dim arc, before landing with a clink in a nearby crevice.
The restraints are lifted!
"The Dream of the Wild Dog..." Huan Shi's hands flashed into a twisted, bizarre hand seal, like a wild beast pouncing on its prey. A chilling growl, like a ravenous dog gnawing on rotting bones, rolled from his throat. The trembling "Food" bell on his wrist suddenly distorted and rose in pitch! It transformed into a soul-piercing, utterly shrill sound—
“Ouch——!!!”
The invisible sound waves, mixed with the power that Illusion had accumulated over a long time and amplified wildly through the bell, as well as the chakra aura that he had just captured belonging to Shuji, surged like a viscous, filthy black tide that burst its banks. In an instant, it crossed the smoke and dust left by the explosion and the chaotic streets, ignoring the physical distance, and crashed into the wooden clone!
The wooden clone Shuji's body suddenly froze on the spot!
An indescribable, profound emptiness, originating from the deepest recesses of his soul, as if his entire abdominal cavity and internal organs had been ripped out, like the most ferocious plague, instantly eroded all his senses and thoughts! That emptiness transformed into a raging fire that burned away his reason, driving his most primal instincts of destruction and devouring!
At the same time, a violent, all-consuming desire to attack, like boiling, viscous asphalt, erupted from the darkest abyss of his consciousness!
The dam of reason, strained under this double impact, groaned under its strain, teetering on the brink of collapse! Vision began to distort and spin violently, stained with a frenzied crimson. Ears rang, and besides the pounding of his own heart, pounding like a drum, all that remained was the increasingly loud and clear roar and whimper of countless hungry dogs tearing and snarling, as if from the deepest hell!
The dream of the stray dog has already arrived. Cold saliva seems to be dripping down the edge of consciousness.
