Chapter 42 Behavioral Characteristics, Faces, and Self-ICE [Please continue reading]

Lin Yue grabbed the man's wrist with his other hand.

"Damn it! Go easy on me!"

Lin Yue was taken aback, only then realizing that it was the prosthetic doctor from the Long Beach stockpile.

"Holy crap... Costin! You scared me."

Costin rubbed his wrist. He was a meat vendor at the Long Beach stockpile and often came to the black market to buy things. He never expected to run into his customer here.

The cyborg doctor looked down and saw Lin Yue's arm.

"Are you getting used to it?"

Lin Yue nodded, "It's alright, it's pretty exciting."

"The inhibitor should be running out soon? How's the situation?"

Inhibitors?!

Lin Yue slapped his forehead. He had never used this thing before. Who would dare to inject a tube of unknown green liquid into their body? The tube was thicker than the one used for cows. Lin Yue was afraid of needles, especially such a big one.

Perhaps this is the benefit of being able to see the capacity of the prosthetic body. In any case, Lin Yue was certain that his prosthetic body would not have any problems.

"It's alright, the effect is great after using it." Lin Yue laughed it off, trying to get away with it. If he said it didn't work, the doctor would probably pester him to sell him inhibitors again.

Kostin seemed to be observing Lin Yue's complexion and physical condition, which made Lin Yue feel a little uneasy.

That's the downside of this doctor; he smells like a butcher, which isn't very pleasant to look at.

"I went to the address you gave me last time, but you didn't seem to be there."

"I can't talk to you about this on the phone, but since I happened to run into you, I thought I'd tell you."

Lin Yue's spirits lifted. Could it be...?

Kostin walked with him to the dilapidated gate of the stadium's black market not far away. Kostin refused the cigarette Lin Yue offered, saying, "There's information about that thing."

Lin Yue was very curious. How did he find clues about the things he had been asking about for so long in the stadium's black market?

"Who is selling?" Once the behavioral characteristics are identified, Hans is really nothing to fear.

He could easily use this cybernetic body that allows him to transform into another person to roam freely in Dogtown, and also take advantage of the chaos to do a lot of big things.

Lin Yue himself wouldn't believe he slept soundly every night; with Hanz always there, waiting and poised to strike, how could he possibly sleep peacefully?

"Don't rush, this thing won't be easy to get in a short time. After all, you've asked around in the black market quite a bit, haven't you? Don't be so blunt next time; you won't get it by just asking—"

"They told me that this shipment is a new batch of American goods, smuggled in through a lot of connections. I don't know the specifics, you'll have to contact Semill, one of the people from [Slide].

Upon hearing the word "slider," Lin Yue nodded calmly, "Okay, thanks."

"Slider, do you recognize it?"

Lin Yue smiled. "The one who defected from the Voodoo Gang."

Costin's expression changed drastically. "Hey, you look dangerous. You know a lot too—man, I have absolutely no idea what you're up to."

"Don't worry about that, I'll handle finding the slider myself... By the way, buddy, is there any progress on that ICE thing I asked you to ask about last time?"

Kostin shook his head. "There are too few of these in Dogtown. There aren't many hackers around in Dogtown... Would you take a computer into the Stone Age? Where there are hackers, there are plenty of these. You should go out of Dogtown and take a look."

"Or, just ask the slider."

Great harvest.

Lin Yue was secretly delighted, never expecting to run into this guy while gathering information, and that he would bring him such good news.

However, there are some problems, namely that the slider is not easy to get close to.

Judging from Costin's reaction, it seems that Slider has already left the Voodoo Cult.
This blind hacker led a group of people to set up a black puppet workshop in Dogtown, and his relationship with the new U.S. Joint Logistics Command is not simple.

Costin left as soon as he finished speaking. That doctor had a very strange temper; he would leave as soon as he finished talking.

Lin Yue still wanted to say goodbye to them.

The contact information for Semir appeared in Lin Yue's phone contacts. Lin Yue did not intend to call and ask directly. This hacker had been online for so long that he had gone blind. Going to meet his gang of not-so-easy-to-be-trolls would be tantamount to suicide.

Let's find someone who sells tracking software first.

Lin Yue searched around for places that sold hacker plugins.

When the topic of hackers and voodoo gangs came up, Lin Yue remembered a plug-in vendor in the Dogtown Stadium black market.

Kid Brother [Sammy Taylor]

Lin Yue had a vivid memory of that child hacker prodigy; the kid's sarcastic comment still echoed in his ears: "The Voodoo Gang is a bunch of clueless idiots who can't even figure out basic network technology, yet they're always wearing leather pants and strutting around like know-it-alls." Now it's 2075, and Lin Yue wasn't sure if the kid had opened a shop nearby.

Lin Yue, who was looking around, suddenly had a flash of inspiration: the familiar bulletproof glass shop front desk, the faded yellow old electric bell...

No way?
This kid is probably only five years old now... Has he been weaned yet?
The electric bell rang with a muffled sound. Lin Yue waited for a long time but no one came out.

Just as he was about to ask the people around him where the owner of the house was, a little kid with his arms crossed and wearing glasses stared straight at him from inside the bulletproof glass.

Kindergarten senior class, that's really the most we can do.

"What about your elders?"

Sami chuckled, "Mom! Mom! A customer wants to buy something!"

"Hey, are you some new idiot? This place is mine. Buy whatever you want, access the storage, [RAM]—"

Lin Yue interrupted, "Uh, do you know where the Dogtown Voodoo Gang is?"

The kid looked speechless. "The Voodoo Gang. The colonel doesn't like these idiots who have no skill. If you really want to talk about something, there's one who ran away from the Voodoo Gang, selling puppets in Dogtown, leading a bunch of second-rate guys with their heads modified into robots."

Lin Yue was dumbfounded.

Even though he's two years younger, Kid Brother's mouth is still just as sharp!

"Yes, I'm talking about them. Could you give me an address or something?"

Sami's eyes lit up. "So you're not so bad at talking. Give me the money and your address."

Lin Yue honestly transferred the money.

The kid's message came through the next second.

"Where did you get my contact information?" Lin Yue was sweating profusely as he looked at Sami's text message.

"Please help me." The kid sighed. Communicating with people who don't understand hacking is troublesome. "It's so easy to hack a communication system."

It's infuriating to compare yourself to others; these kids are living such a comfortable life in Dogtown.

Lin Yue expressed his gratitude.

He looked through the plugins and realized he didn't recognize many of them, so he asked again, "By the way, are there any tracking programs or anything like that? I want to track someone down and investigate their whereabouts."

Sami pushed out a small chip. "This is it. It's a self-developed product, and it's really awesome. I guarantee that 80% of the self-testing programs won't be able to detect it. If you want more high-end stuff, I have it all, including the puppets that the Black Trauma Group can create."

Lin Yue picked up the chip. "So, you were involved in the Cleaner Biotechnology thing?"

He remembered the biotechnology man; it seemed his trauma team program had also crashed.

"If we're talking about Dogtown, then it's me."

Lin Yue shook his head. Dogtown, oh Dogtown, where is there any moral bottom line?

The kids are all working with the cleaners now...

"How much in total?"

Sami quoted a price.

Lin Yue readily paid up, making it a one-off deal.

"Hey boss, do you know where I can buy this ICE thing?"

Lin Yue had only asked casually and hadn't held out much hope.

After all, Kid only sells things like hacker plugins.

But what he didn't expect was.

Sami held up five fingers, “Five hundred euros to buy the supply—ready stock, ready-made, I’ll connect you with a prosthetic doctor.”

"How about it? Fair price, idiot."

"If you want to be even more awesome, I can add another layer of ICE for you. I guarantee it will turn your hacking into a complete idiot."

ha? ? ?
Lin Yue stared wide-eyed:
Holy crap! Kid, you're awesome!
