Chapter 110 The Empress
Chapter 110 The Empress (Part Two)
Emma staggered out of an alley in the Watson district.
The anesthetic had brought her to the brink of unconsciousness; she had lost her shoes sometime earlier, and her bare feet made a slight scraping sound as they walked on the rough ground.
There were shattered bottles on the ground, and the sharp shards of glass had pierced the tender skin on the soles of her feet, leaving shallow, bloody footprints.
A slight braking sound came from ahead.
Emma's usual gold Jefferson slowly came to a stop at the alley entrance. She stopped, her face hidden under her hair, making it impossible to see her expression. She looked as if she might collapse at any moment.
A series of hurried footsteps approached, and the poor woman's body trembled slightly.
The sandalwood scent on the person who came was too strong.
The man's exquisite leather shoes came into Emma's view as she looked down, and after a long while...
He spoke up: "Emma...aren't you just giving me a lot of trouble? Hmm?"
A silver prosthetic hand, imbued with the chill of Night City's winter, gripped her chin, deliberately increasing the pressure until her cheek stung. The man forced Emma to meet his cold eyes with her fading gaze.
“Wade…” Emma mumbled a few syllables.
The two thugs behind Hanz were expressionless and didn't dare to move... They could both see that Emma was about to collapse, but since the boss hadn't given the order, they could only watch helplessly from behind.
Hans seemed to be trying to read something from the woman's face.
“I’ve read the trauma team’s report, and nobody did anything to you… Emma.”
For the first time, this shrewd and ruthless businessman from Taiping Continent felt annoyed. It was just a fair transaction. Besides, the Winter Moon affair had already been ruined, and Emma was still acting so arrogant—like a spoiled young girl, which was completely unnecessary for Hans.
Hans continued, "You made me lose the Winter Moon business, and you also made me lose the chips Cuba gave me—I'm keeping you around only because of Catherine, so can't you be a little more sensible, darling?"
“I’ve already revoked your Trauma Group Platinum membership. This time, I won’t have any patience for you, Emma.”
Hanz released his grip and looked around. All he saw was the seemingly orderly yet chaotic streetscape of Watson District.
Here you'll find drunken thugs; gangs wielding samurai swords and picking out their targets; NCPD officers who ignore crimes and continue smoking and telling dirty jokes at intersections; and even gunshots!
"Do you want to be a whore in this place and rot in the mud, or do you want to go back to your comfortable home, lie in your big bed—and continue to enjoy the living conditions you deserve? The choice is yours."
Hanz shoved Emma's jaw away, and with the force of the impact, Emma, panting heavily, finally couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed to her knees against the wall.
Hans reached out and stopped the two thugs behind him who wanted to help his wife. He was waiting for this tactless woman to choose.
For several minutes, Emma remained motionless in that position.
The woman's profile had a broken charm; her eyes were obscured by her disheveled hair, and her once full lips were chapped and cracked, but her mouth slowly opened, revealing bloodstains on her teeth as she laughed silently and maniacally.
She spoke slowly, pleading in an almost inaudible voice, "I...I was wrong..."
……
Crash.
Hot water, carrying a misty steam, was evenly spread over Emma's body.
Even the most meticulously treated wounds need time to heal; stepping on damp ground still caused a piercing pain in her feet. Faint traces of blood trickled down the drain mixed with the water, yet she remained expressionless.
The thought of another disgusting guy in the room completely ruined any sense of comfort she felt about taking a bath before bed.
She stepped into the bathtub, her slender fingers stroking her neck, her toes lightly touching the water surface sprinkled with flower petals.
Actually, she wavered for a moment today.
After undergoing her prosthetic surgery, Emma discovered that Hanz kept contacting her, leading her to wonder if Hanz knew that something was going to happen to Fuyuki and was trying to stall for time by asking her to do so.
She is very good at finding excuses for others.
If Hans finds her today and inquires about her injuries, she might swallow this wicked plan and pretend nothing happened.
Because revenge is too distressing and exhausting.
When have I ever been cared for?
Maybe not……
Emma's mind went blank, and she suddenly remembered the young man who had bent down to put her shoes on.
She had seen restraint in that man's eyes, and a gentleness that didn't belong to this city, like a powerful lion, strong and determined to do what it wanted.
In fact, when Lin Yue was about to infiltrate Dogtown, Emma could have contacted Hanz through emergency measures, or even exchanged coded messages with the soldiers of the Ghost Hounds—either way, that mercenary would have been doomed.
However, she let go, because she knew that no one could budge Hanz.
She watched helplessly as this vengeful beast disappeared into the jungle of Dogtown, as if paying the price for her infatuation.
However, this guy and the power behind him exceeded Emma and Hanz's imagination. The boss, Rin, and this guy with strong execution skills seemed to be in sync, quickly stripping Hanz of his animal gang's base and giving the arrogant Hanz a hard scare.
Perhaps it was from that time that Hans lost his composure.
At the Rebirth Bar.
Emma even had a sliver of hope that Lin Yue would come—but to her disappointment, it was Rin who came.
Whether it's the first meeting or the second.
Lin Yue always used rough actions, but he never hurt himself.
She will always remember Lin Yue that morning, who put away his gun and looked at her with compassionate eyes.
That guy's prosthetic hand was also cold and hurt Emma, but it was a million times purer than those guys who wanted to treat her gently.
Emma didn't know what kind of training and education Lin Yue had received that gave him such a special tenderness towards women.
Does the principle of "not extending blame to family members" still exist?
Emma looked out into the steamy bathroom.
Emma couldn't say whether she loved or not Hanz; she only knew that a weak individual like herself could only depend on these powerful men. As it turned out, Hanz didn't love her at all, only had a measurable value to her.
Emma had never heard of any of Hanz's ex-wives, nor had she heard that Hanz had any other children... but she knew that Hanz had a lover and other places of residence.
In Night City, among the wealthy elites and various gangs, having lovers is common, and Emma is aware of this.
But she remained steadfast in her duty, because she didn't want to be treated like merchandise and handed over to other men. She hoped to gain Hans's favor through this dutiful behavior, but it was completely in vain.
Emma has very few implants; she's a natural beauty. Hanz, on the other hand, is a collector, and he considers himself the best item in his collection.
An object's attribute is that it can be used for exchange.
That concludes my thoughts.
Emma's hesitation vanished completely.
Whether she submits herself to Rin or Hanz, she doesn't want to be an object anymore, so she has to rely on herself, Emma.
Emma gently placed her hand on the back of her neck, and when the implant was activated, she felt a warm sensation, and all her senses seemed to be amplified in that instant.
She covered her mouth and let out a soft groan, trying her best to keep quiet.
Because the pain from the wound will also be amplified.
She knew what would happen if Hans discovered her; Catherine wouldn't be Hans's concern, death was her only destiny.
Emma stepped out of the bathroom and onto the soft carpet, moving her feet stiffly.
Hanz crossed his arms, his eyes shining as if he were on the phone with someone, the tea beside him still steaming.
"Honey, are you alright?"
Hans hung up the phone, stood up, and put his hands on Emma's arms. He noticed that Emma's brows were slightly furrowed.
Then the two-faced man complained, "Night City wasn't fun, was it? It's lucky you went near the Afterlife... If you had gone to Tiger Claw's territory, you might have been in trouble."
Emma reached out and wrapped her arms around Hanz's neck.
Her chin rested on Hans's shoulder, her expression as cold as if she were holding a knife to kill, but her words were soft, "I just didn't understand for a moment. You're right, Wade, we're in this together... Dogville is our last resort, we can't lose it."
Hans chuckled softly, patting Emma's back gently. "You see, some things are easy to understand... It's good to know."
"But I want to ask you, what are you trying to do by getting involved with a group of mercenaries in the afterlife?"
Emma's body stiffened for a moment.
The atmosphere began to become delicate, even somewhat dangerous.
In just a few breaths, Emma had figured out her answer. She smiled and said, "I was scared by those perverts in the Vortex Gang, so I spent some money to hire someone to give me some sense of security... I knew you would come looking for me."
Hans sighed. “You’re very smart, Emma. Remember when we were just starting out in Pacific? You were the one who helped me pick out the Animal Gang, and that was how we made our first fortune… Last time I was too stubborn and didn’t listen to your advice, which gave Arasaka an opening.”
"Feel sorry."
Emma: "I'm sorry, Hanz, since the Animal Gang changed its members."
What seemed like a heartfelt confession between husband and wife made Emma feel a little overwhelmed.
“I told you to tone it down, give Rin half of the business to keep him calm, and once the company’s operations are fully integrated… there won’t be so much trouble.” Emma hooked her arm around Hans’s neck, her gaze gentle. “But it’s not too late now. Even though Fuyutsuki is gone, I believe you have other ways.”
Hans's smile held a hint of something enigmatic. "Aren't you curious about what I'm thinking of?"
Emma shook her head, making a sweet, nasal sound.
"You have your own plans, don't you?"
Hanz was pleased with Emma's attitude, playing with her wet hair. "'Setbacks make you grow,' you have to believe that."
"Then... use my sex doll chip, okay?" Emma's towel fell to the ground, her smile becoming increasingly alluring, her finger poking at Hanz's chest, moving it back and forth.
Hans gave her a reproachful look. "Not today, honey. I have business to discuss with my friends. You should rest."
Emma was a little unhappy, but Hans coaxed her and gave her a gentle kiss.
"Then I'll go to another room. I won't disturb your business. Remember to come back." Emma, wrapped in a bath towel, gently beckoned with her finger, seemingly reluctant to leave.
Hanz was somewhat surprised that Emma would be so obedient. He spread his hands and shook his head helplessly, "Okay, okay."
The automatic door closed, and Emma immediately leaned against the wall after stepping out, feeling an urge to vomit.
Her eyes were bloodshot, but she suppressed the urge to cry and quietly let Mewtwo continue recording.
Because of the highly sensitive prosthetic body, it can hear subtle movements inside the walls, with an information collection range up to ten meters in diameter. The area with Emma at the center is where the information is most abundant. This prosthetic body can collect information about sound, environment, temperature, humidity, and more.
Sure enough, Hanz started making a phone call inside.
Emma listened quietly.
-
After the Arasaka agents finished their work, Lin Yue drove V along the highway leading out of the city.
"You're quite harsh on women."
V sat there for a long time before finally managing to squeeze out a sentence.
Lin Yue stared blankly at the road ahead. "Thank you."
Awesome.
V shrugs.
From any perspective, Lin Yue had just unilaterally crushed Emma's hopes. If the team hadn't intervened, Emma would have returned empty-handed today—or Lin Yue might have given Emma some money as payment for delivering the message for Angie.
In fact, Lin Yue was not at all surprised that this woman in the company said this:
V has very high personality traits; in other words, she has a deep-seated compassion for humanity.
Whether it's sending the lark away from here, killing her in Little Big Dipper, or the moment Jack Wells handed her the chip, or giving her body to Johnny... in all the mission choices, her personality will always leave her a choice that belongs to the brilliance of humanity.
If we treat all of this as a game... this woman from a corporate family seems to have many choices in this world, but in reality, she doesn't have many paths to survival.
She was filled with the despair of impending death, yet she still retained her kindness.
"What does Emma have?" Lin Yue asked, a cigarette between his fingers, half of which was blown away by the wind outside the car window.
V shook his head. "What could she possibly have... She just married a heartless man who quit his job at the company. What you told me—that Hanz put her in someone else's car—I still think it's fucking ridiculous."
Lin Yue: "So if you have nothing but want to get something, you have to pay the price. That's fair."
He tossed the cigarette butt out the window; sparks hit the car window. V's eye twitched, and he thought with some dissatisfaction:
That bastard doesn't care about his new car at all.
"How were you planning to do this without this woman... starting your own business again, huh?"
"No wonder Lai Xuan is trying to get you involved and giving you resources—when did you two start contacting each other?"
V felt that Lin Yue's secrets were like a bottomless pit, impossible to dig out completely.
Every bastard in Arasaka Tower who heard that Arasaka Yorinobu wasn't wearing a uniform expression of shock, along with an unapproachable fear, while Lin Yue seemed to have known this person for a long time and could even figure out the prince's temperament.
Weird.
“You told me that Lai Xuan wanted to retaliate against the Military Science Bureau during the meeting. We can’t just openly engage in a gunfight with them in Night City.”
Lin Yue suddenly felt that V was a bit dull.
Did I negatively impact her intelligence? Or is it that my own mind has become clearer, making others seem dumber?
V: "Just because of that sentence you said in the meeting? And then you slammed your hand on the table and ordered your gang's informants to charge into battle? That's too strange... Or does that woman from the Animal Gang have something on you?"
Lin Yue glanced at V and asked, "So what do you think it should be like?"
V pondered for a moment, “Because I see no benefit in it. It’s very simple—the company’s methods for getting people involved are nothing more than throwing money at them, throwing weapons at them, or sending a bunch of brain-damaged security agents around killing people.”
"Lai Xuan wants to develop military science, while you want a backup plan. This is inherently conflicting... What are you after? Fame? Fortune?"
"You need to know that no one in HR can save you. The Japanese side won't interfere with appointments and arrangements... Once you're kicked out of the company and the prosthetics stop working, you can just wait to die."
When Lin Yue got into the car, he temporarily turned off his behavioral profile, and a fake smile appeared on his face, which hadn't shown a smile in a long time.
"I'm the head of the security department, are you insulting me?"
Just as he pulled out a cigarette and put it in his mouth, V sat up straight, snatched it away, and crushed it in his hand.
Wow!
The car window was open, and tobacco scraps and paper scraps were swept away by the wind.
"Don't fucking smoke in my car."
Feeling as if mountains were pressing down on him, Lin Yue was already smoking three packs of cigarettes a day.
Thankfully, there are synthetic lobes, otherwise people would have been driven crazy by the convulsions.
As for anything with added ingredients, Lin Yue doesn't touch it—although it's common in Night City, he knows he can't get his hands on it.
Abstaining from drugs and gambling is a basic virtue of the Xia Kingdom.
V crossed his arms. "I don't know what other schemes you have in Dogtown, but I'm warning you, you better not drag me and Jenkins into this, or we'll all be doomed."
Okay, okay, looks like your IQ is still online.
Lin Yue mentally complained.
V knew that Lin Yue's eagerness to go to Dogtown wasn't for the money, and that Lai Xuan's matter was probably just a side effect. As for the ultimate goal... she couldn't figure it out for the time being.
Lin Yue was too lazy to explain in detail to this woman who was always trying to pry into his secrets. "Take off your clothes."
Ok?
V was still lost in thought when Rin's words snapped her out of it. She felt that this guy was becoming more and more rude.
Lin Yue took off his suit jacket with one hand and threw it onto the back seat.
"What, are you going to wear your Arasaka brooch on your forehead and tell the gatekeeper of Dogtown that you're here to check Dogtown's security?" Lin Yue retorted.
V obediently took off his suit and put on a rock jacket that Lin Yue had somehow gotten his hands on.
This girl is too hot. No matter what she wears, she looks like a down-on-her-luck office worker, not like someone who's just hanging around on the streets.
V, after changing his clothes, asked, "Didn't you already arrange for those mercenaries to take action? You could have just sent Arasaka's people. Why did you, the middleman, have to do it yourself?"
Lin Yue shook his head. "I don't trust the people in the company to do things. This trip to Dogtown is just to rescue Angie from the Animal Gang and have the team deal with the Taipingzhou gang outside—business can be arranged later... There's still a lot of work to do at the company tomorrow."
V looked curiously at Lin Yue's somewhat tired face.
It seems this guy got the short end of the stick; I need to ask him about it.
“Didn’t Jenkins give you the information? You’ve been working on it all day without hesitation… layoffs and a massive purge, why are you sighing about it?”
Lin Yue felt that V was deliberately picking a fight. "We're not in the same department, so naturally you're not worried. You know, Abernathy hasn't made a move yet, and who knows where he's waiting for me..."
“Jenkins would love for me to purge the security services. Your counterintelligence department is just waiting for my call so you can tie me to your ship.”
V sneered, his gaze cold. "Rin, the boss isn't getting promoted because of that bitch Abernathy. Once she causes trouble—so what if we're not on the same side? A purge is inevitable." No matter what, they're going to be targeted; the helplessness of a company dog.
Lin Yue's tone was calm, "Let's deal with these immediate problems first."
The car slowly drove toward the gate outside Dogtown where armored machinery stood.
……
Under the overpass in Dogtown.
The transparent dome, originally intended to be used as a botanical garden, is now interspersed with steel frames; previously, it was covered with thick, high-strength glass.
The bloody battles in this lawless land had long since shattered these flimsy structures, and at night, residents of Dogtown would sit on these steel frames to chat and confide in each other.
The cylindrical building is surrounded by various shops converted by business owners, including pubs, arcades, and "gun houses".
In short, every available space in Dogtown that could provide shelter from the wind and rain was utilized to the fullest extent.
But tonight, the alleyways, usually filled with seductive music and various gasps, were unusually quiet.
Angie's baseball bat struck the ground intermittently, producing dull thuds.
Her style has always been very street-style—bold and avant-garde, attracting the attention of many people hiding in the shadows who stare at her alluring curves and the cutouts on the sides of her chest.
However, behind these busybodies who tried to photograph Mewtwo, a few burly animal gang members with fierce faces would soon appear and drag them away to prevent them from disturbing the boss's business.
The military vehicles in Dogtown are mostly modified from the models most favored by Badlands Wanderers, with loud engine roars. Angie listened quietly to the sounds above.
There were probably... four or five cars?
The sound of disordered, powerful footsteps could only be heard from the Ghost Hound's military boots treading on the concrete.
Angie's cigarette burned a bit, then she quietly watched the figures moving in the stairwell of the underground passage, carrying her baseball bat.
Today, Elmer (the smuggling hound) is wearing an exoskeleton, creaking as it moves, a fully armed high-ranking soldier—
His face was hidden beneath a tactical helmet made of military technology, obscuring his expression.
A dozen or so fully armed ghost hounds stood loosely, some carrying weapons, others casually holding them—in short, this was what a gang army looked like.
It has the most advanced equipment and the most ruthless soldiers.
"You finally came."
Angie touched her forehead and said slowly.
But the anxiety in her eyes betrayed the forced ease in her tone.
She was already overwhelmed with problems these past few days, but at this critical juncture, Ross Ulmer started acting strangely, not only confiscating all the smuggled prosthetics but also demanding more commission from Angie.
This greedy guy already takes the highest cut from smuggling, and now he wants even more. Angie has no choice but to teach him a lesson.
Ulmer's words were quite crude: "Oh! Just you alone?! Look at you, look at you... You're actually quite honest! If you had said you were coming alone, I would have come on a date with you myself—"
"Oh dear, look at all the brothers I've brought! You're probably too much for one girl to handle!"
The soldiers burst into laughter, staring intently at the slender woman like a pack of hungry wolves.
For someone like Angie, who hangs out on the streets, the Ghost Dog's verbal attacks are nothing. "Those 'little sticks' on your bodies aren't even as long as lollipops, so get the hell out of here! You really think I called you here to talk about love?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Angie's remaining fifty-odd gang members emerged from the darkness. Their burly bodies and the weapons they carried made them look more like wild beasts than the Netherhound soldiers, and they were gradually forming an encirclement.
Ulmer looked around, his face somewhat gloomy.
Didn't I say that this woman's boss is dead?
This woman isn't running away, she's still here threatening me with people—what is she thinking?
"Hey guys, now it's your turn to stick your asses out and get fucked."
Angie clapped her hands. "Ermer, the boss hasn't treated you badly, has he? The price he offered was the highest among all your bosses... What? Now that things are moving, you're starting to cause trouble?"
Ulmer stared at Angie with a gloomy expression. These people were indeed lacking in ability if they wanted to stop him.
Angie's behavior makes it seem like... she has someone backing her?
But it doesn't matter anymore, since he, Elmer, is no longer bound by any constraints.
Ulmer chuckled, "Are you sure?"
Angie shrugged. "When the fighting starts later, it'll be fair for everyone. We all have one life. The goods will be returned, and the money will still be paid—nothing will happen."
Ulmer walked slowly to Angie with his hands behind his back.
"Don't fucking move!"
Seeing that the animal gang was still trying to surround them, the Ghost Hound soldiers, though blustering, raised their guns and shouted.
He looked at the woman in front of him and said, "You little slut, you're pretty crazy. Fine! You can return the goods, but you have to tell me what's going on with all the rumors circulating in Dogtown lately? Where is your boss? If you can't find him, don't even think about getting your stuff back."
With his exoskeleton, Ermer was nearly 1.9 meters tall. Combined with his iron-clad armor, he resembled a humanoid suit of armor. Compared to him, Angie looked like a fragile flower that could be easily slapped to death at any moment.
Angie squinted and squeezed out a sentence, "You fucking dare to say that?!"
Ulmer paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, "Okay, okay, awesome!"
"Let me put it this way, everyone in the Ghost Hound knows that Hanz has been taken down, but the person who took down Hanz is finished. I'm just giving you a heads-up. If you're still here groveling to the boss instead of running away, you're probably not thinking straight."
Angie said "Oh," and then asked, "What are you going to do if he's here?"
Ulmer wasn't afraid. "It's nothing more than telling Hansen about my arms sales, but I told him the colonel knows about it—he uses my underground tunnels too, and I'm not afraid of your boss at all."
“I was happy to do it when there was money to be made, but now that there’s no money, I have to keep the prosthetic body to make up for my loss.”
屮…
Angie was a little nervous; this had hit her sore spot.
She was clutching something in her hand. The situation was getting increasingly dire; it was a matter of who would fire the first shot.
Ulmer stared intently at Angie, then suddenly slammed his hand down on her face. That blow would surely shatter her skull.
Buzz—Sizzle!
Angie pressed down on what she was holding, and Ermer's hand froze in mid-air.
"I am!"
Ulmer tried his best to move his arm, only to find that the exoskeleton suddenly seemed to malfunction!
The hound soldiers, who were waiting in the distance for their leader to slap the woman to death, discovered that their leader had been subdued in a matter of seconds.
"Don't fucking move!"
Click—the cold muzzle of the gun was pressed against Earlmer's chin.
"now what?"
Angie looked at this guy with a slightly malfunctioning brain with a smile, "How about this, how much are my prosthetic bodies worth? I'll transfer them to you now."
"Holy crap! Calm down, sis! ...What the hell did you do?!" Ulmer's face froze.
Angie isn't stupid. Ulmer cooperated well today, but if he didn't, Angie would have to find a way to control him. The thing in her hand was a jammer made by a technical expert. It could shield the sensors of this kind of military-grade external equipment for less than a minute.
But this is enough to change the balance of offense and defense.
However, Angie's expression was not as relaxed as it seemed. Instead, she subtly observed the imminent battlefield, thinking of making her way away first.
Ulmer nodded, "I'll transfer the money! I'll transfer it! Wait a minute..."
Angie took a small step back—
Ulmer suddenly cursed viciously, "I'll fucking fuck you!"
Wow!
A burst of electricity erupted from the center of the Ermer. Although Angie didn't have any prosthetic body, being electrified was still an extremely painful experience. She immediately felt an uncontrollable tremor and was instantly thrown back by the current, crashing heavily to the ground.
One of the animal gang members shouted, "Boss!"
A burst of gunfire immediately erupted!
Ulmer was hit by several bullets, but he didn't react at all. Instead, he ignored the chaotic battlefield behind him and walked to Angie, who was trying her best to get up.
"Who the hell do you think you are?! Fuck!"
Enraged, Lieutenant Earl raised his foot, ready to stomp on Angie's head!
Angie covered her face with her hands; she had no idea that Ermer had such a way of attacking! She thought she was well prepared, but she had underestimated the fighting power of the officers led by the Ghost Hounds.
"Oh shit…"
call!
Ulmer's thick leg was already pressing down on Angie's face.
Ok?
Ulmer felt something was wrong with his footwork.
Has the bone structure malfunctioned again?
Wow!
A surge of electricity suddenly shot through Ulmer's body, and he was thrown backward as if he were wrapped in a high-voltage wire and sparking.
This guy wasn't just capable of that; the moment the situation changed, he retreated four or five meters at an extremely fast speed.
The man in the black jacket had a bloodshot glint in his eyes. "Ermer, so eager to kick the nest?"
At that moment, a bullet whistled towards the man's face, but this posed almost no threat to Lin Yue, whose reaction time was a perfect 13 points.
He simply turned his head to dodge the stray bullet from the battlefield.
Ulmer was dumbfounded. This guy was a hacker?!
Before he could react, the same light appeared in the eyes of the beautiful woman in the brightly colored jacket beside the man, and Elmer's soul flew straight out of his head.
No, that sound is...
Angie's boss?!
At this moment, Angie, who felt numb all over, lay on the ground and turned her head to look behind her.
"Thank you for your trouble."
The woman hummed in agreement, her eyes sweeping towards the center of the battlefield—
They then quickly locked onto their target.
At that moment, a Ghosthound heavy gunner, using the frame of a burnt-out car as cover, was locked in a fierce battle with members of the Animal Gang. Suddenly, his mind went blank, his pupils trembled rapidly, and he turned and pointed his gun at his partner.
Bang bang bang!
The shotgun's immense power instantly tore apart his teammate's head, while another Ghost Hound, still in a daze, wiped the chunks off his mask.
"He's crazy!"
V walked slowly toward the edge of the battlefield, while Lin Yue slowly walked to An Qi's side.
"I've finally found you, Angie."
Angie's expression changed from surprise to a helpless smile. "You still have the heart to come, boss."
Lin Yue nodded and helped An Qi up.
Angie crossed her arms, and Lin Yue slowly stepped in front of the animal gang queen, quietly watching Earlmer.
He crossed his arms in front of him, his index finger tapping the back of his hand repeatedly, as if waiting for the woman to resolve other troublesome issues.
Ulmer glanced at his men behind him, who were almost all dead, his expression contorted with rage, and charged at the man who was standing in front of Angie.
Swish!
It's almost as fast as having a Sinweistein installed!
"Is the external skeleton really that strong?" Lin Yue muttered to himself.
Huang Yue uploaded the quick solution, and in such a short time, he even had time to reach out and support An Qi!
Swish!
The gust of wind from the Elmer Impact swept across their faces, and they both turned to the side, perfectly dodging the monster with its powerful kinetic energy!
In that instant: Ulmer could almost see the mocking smile on the man's lips and the surprise in Angie's eyes—
He was very unwilling. The high-level soldier whose external skeleton had been invaded quickly lost his balance and crashed through the wall like a big block of iron, raising a cloud of dust!
Angie stood there, stunned, watching the woman in the distance with her back to her. This guy had single-handedly wiped out the entire battlefield, while Boss Lin took a step and slowly walked towards the hole in the dark wall.
Elmer's individual combat system quickly locked onto the figure slowly approaching from outside the smoke and dust.
call out!
A powerful bullet pushed through the smoke and dust and hurtled straight toward Earlmer.
Ulmer raised his arm to block the bullet, and the external bone on the object caved in.
We need to get close!
This senior soldier knows how to deal with hackers; he has exceptional close-combat skills and will definitely teach this guy a lesson about the consequences of arrogance.
"Closer..."
Ulmer was mentally counting the distance between himself and the guy when his pupils suddenly dilated in the next second.
Depend on!
What kind of speed is that?!
Lin Yue had already located Elmer's position, and with the help of his "Desperate Saburo" buff, he made a rapid dash—fast enough to reach Elmer at a speed close to that of his prosthetic body that had been activated.
"I'm going to your mother!"
Ulmer's exoskeleton has a melee behavior system, which activated automatically and placed above his forehead before he could even react!
boom!
He had no doubt that he had been hit by a large truck, because the deformed exoskeleton on his arm and the black hand gripping him tightly told him that this was the destructive force of some extremely powerful melee prosthetic!
The face with crimson pupils emerged from the smoke and dust.
Lin Yue tightened his fingers, and Ermer's external skeleton emitted a series of crisp sounds.
Ah, this feels so good.
Lin Yue had a somewhat enjoyable expression. He felt that whenever he used his prosthetic body, his mood would inexplicably become exceptionally good. This feeling was more exciting than obtaining wealth, women, or anything else that was even more tempting!
He grinned maliciously at Elmer, "Can we play a little longer?"
Ulmer nearly wet his pants, watching helplessly as the external skeleton attached to his arm was deformed by that guy using the pure power of his prosthetic body!
Then, with a hissing sound!
Ulmer felt a chill on his arm; the guy's black prosthetic arm had actually torn off his bones and arm!
"what!"
The soldier let out a painful howl.
Before Lin Yue could make a second move, the guy kicked Lin Yue away and then rushed backward at an extremely fast speed, seemingly trying to escape through the front door of the house.
"Damn it! No…"
Out of the corner of his eye, Elmer saw the guy be right next to him in almost a few breaths, and then, a powerful black fist slammed into his face—
Bang!
The soldier smashed into a bunch of things and flew away...
As all the noise ceased, Earl leaned against the wall of the messy room, half of his face sunken in.
"You...cough cough, don't you fucking come any closer."
But this did nothing to stop the guy from moving forward.
He muttered to himself, "I thought you were just too greedy—I didn't expect you to be so stupid, Earlmer."
"Boss Lin, I can explain!"
The boss, Rin, seemed unable to hear Ermer's pleas for mercy. Although he had the face of a gentle middle-aged man, his red eyes filled his face with a terrifying aura, like the Grim Reaper staring straight at him from hell.
……
At this moment, the battle outside was also drawing to a close.
Angie raised her gun to retaliate against the Netherhound, but suddenly!
As a flash of red light appeared inside the wall, Angie heard a painful wail that was completely unlike anything in human form.
It's like the pausing sound of a humanoid robot suddenly losing power while it's still speaking.
"My..."
Angie's throat moved, but she dared not move an inch.
Of the fifty-odd members of the animal gang, only half remained standing after the infighting. Elmer's men were soldiers who managed smuggling routes, each equipped with the best gear and cybernetic bodies. Such a casualty ratio left Angie feeling terrified.
If it weren't for Rin and that woman, I probably would be dead here today.
All the members of the animal gang gathered around. "Boss, who are they...?"
Angie reached out, signaling them to be quiet.
The man who came out of the house looked at Anqi with an appreciative gaze, his expression gentle, the red light in his eyes gone.
"Ms. Angie, are you satisfied?"
