Chapter 247 Huh?
Catley didn't know what to do.

She stood at the corner, surrounded by corpses, the air heavy.

The Asian man remained standing in the same spot.

He stared at her face, as if trying to make a judgment.

The look in his eyes wasn't exactly hostile, but it was certainly not friendly either.

Cattelle wanted to say something, but couldn't find the right words.

Her tongue seemed stuck to the roof of her mouth, and she couldn't even say "thank you."

And that gun
Katelyl finally looked down at it.

The lines are extremely simple, and it uses some kind of composite metal material.

She had never seen anything like it before.

How did this person manage to bring this weapon in?
It took them three months and seven lives to smuggle five pistols into the castle.

But then an Asian man suddenly appeared here carrying such an enormous weapon.

Catley didn't know how to react.

Just as she was about to speak, the man suddenly spoke first: "Do you speak Russian?"

Kate Lyle was taken aback.

Zhou Yi tilted his head and shrugged: "It's nothing, I was just asking."

"Because you just yelled something in Ukrainian, I guess you'll probably let it go—"

Before he finished speaking, he raised his gun and aimed again.

Cattel quickly snapped out of her daze and immediately shouted, "Yes, I will! I will!"

“That’s good,” Zhou Yi said, placing his finger on the trigger guard. “You’re the second person we can communicate with.”

Katelyl stared blankly, mouth agape, still unsure what to say.

She nervously sized up the man, but dared not look too directly at him.

Zhou Yi noticed her nervousness.

"Do you know how to get out of this place?" he asked. "It's like a maze."

Catley swallowed hard. "I know, but we have to go up there, from behind the kitchen."

"Lead the way," Zhou Yi gestured for her to walk ahead.

"My name is Katelyl. What is your name?"

After a long pause, Cattelley couldn't help but ask.

“Call me John,” Zhou Yi said.

"Who exactly are you?"

Kate Lyle didn't think the question was too risky.

After all, the man didn't kill himself.

Instead, it solved the problem of the local population.

"People passing by," Zhou Yi replied perfunctorily, "sometimes if you go to the wrong place, you'll run into some trouble."

Katelyl remained silent.

She could tell that it meant "don't ask".

They walked forward, through a long, narrow, ventilated corridor.

Zhou Yi's pace was slow, more like he was taking a stroll.

As he approached the corner, he leaned against the wall to create an angle and slightly lowered the muzzle of his gun.

Footsteps approached.

In my line of sight, two men in uniforms approached from a distance.

Carrying a rifle, he appeared to be on guard duty.

Before they could react, Zhou Yi calmly pulled the trigger.

"Bang—bang."

Two bursts of fire.

The body fell to the ground.

Then, move on.

It took Katelyl half a second to react before she quickly followed.

Passing through corridors, pipe junctions, and stairwells.

The atmosphere has clearly changed.

The alarm finally went off.

However, it is mixed with noise and lacks a coherent system, like several lines being used simultaneously and interfering with each other.

Fortunately, the transition area leading to the kitchen was relatively enclosed, and although the notification had been spread, reinforcements had not yet arrived.

The route passes through an old power distribution room, a food storage passage, and a laundry room.

Further ahead is the iron gate that leads from the kitchen to the loading and unloading platform.

According to Ketterle, outside the door is a platform, a fence, and an open view.

Zhou Yi could feel the wind blowing in through the gap.

It was damp, and it smelled of trees and soil.

Cattel also sensed it.

“We’re almost there,” she said in a very soft voice.

"There's a forest outside; if they go out, they'll survive. Can you save them?"

"My compatriots."

Cattel's voice was a little hoarse. She seemed to be talking to herself rather than asking a question.

"Did they...did they succeed too?"

"Or are they all dead?"

At this point, Cattel began to tremble uncontrollably.

My task is complete.

But that was an unplanned success.

There was no communication or coordination.

It left behind only vast blank spaces and countless sacrifices.

Just then, Zhou Yi suddenly stopped.

"Squat down," he said.

Just as Katelyl was about to do so, she was suddenly shoved under the control panel.

There is someone ahead.

There were also whispered conversations, spoken in a hurried tone.

In the direction of the loading and unloading platform.

Katelyl braced her hands on the cold floor tiles, listening to her own heartbeat.

Soon, the door opened twice.

The three stepped in one by one and quickly dispersed.

The person at the front carried a flashlight; the beam swept across the ground, shone on the pot lid, and then rose up.

The next second—

Gunshots suddenly rang out.

The leading soldier was the first to be shot.

His body sank as if struck by a blunt object, and he fell to the ground, his weapon flying half a meter away.

By the time the person on the right realized what was happening, it was too late.

The movement of bending over was a beat too slow.

The bullet knocked him off balance, his shoulder slammed against the edge of the sink, and he fell silent.

His teammate's death gave him a chance to figure out which way to go.

He simply took aim.

"boom!"

"boom!"

His chest was pierced, and the enormous impact caused him to stagger backward, knocking over half of the stove.

The man was still moving, panting, his weak fingers trying to fire again.

Zhou Yi emerged from the shadows.

Hesitation, reluctance, and a vague fear appeared on the man's face.

Before he could react, Zhou Yi lowered his hand and pulled the trigger.

The bullet pierced the forehead at close range, pinning the body to the ground.

Without pausing for a moment, Zhou Yi turned and walked towards the control panel.

The kitchen fell silent, with only the lingering clang of metal utensils remaining.

When Ketterle heard the shooting stop, he breathed a sigh of relief.

But then, a sharp pain suddenly shot through my body, as if I had been swept by a red-hot iron bar.

Kate Lyle looked down in horror and discovered that her skirt had been torn in an irregular pattern.

The blood flowed quickly, running down the thigh into the boot and splattering on the floor tiles.

It was mixed with the grease in the kitchen, making it impossible to distinguish the colors.

"Unfortunately, you're unlucky; you're going to die."

"It was a stray bullet."

Just then, a man's voice came from above.

Ketterel looked up, trembling, only to see that he had already turned his back, put away his rifle, and was about to leave.

"Please...don't leave me!" she cried out, driven by her will to survive.

"I know how to export, and I can translate German! I can translate for you!"

A few seconds later, the footsteps returned.

Zhou Yi's hands were empty.

He silently squatted down, reached out and lifted a section of the skirt, tearing it open.

Then, flip it a few times, wrap the cloth around the upper thigh, loop it, and tie a knot.

Press your knee against the wound and pull it tight; the skin around the wound will quickly turn white.

Katelyl couldn't help but groan twice, her body trembling violently.

“Take me to see your superior,” she heard the man say.

"Don't let me regret saving you."

"After that, you'll have to answer my questions."

"Many problems."

Then, Cattel's eyes rolled back and she fainted.
