Chapter 202 Beware of Forces
West Wing of the Capitol.

A black microphone stands in the center.

In the background, the American flag flies high.

The incandescent bulb shone brightly, leaving no room for shadows.

In the council chamber, chairs were neatly arranged, and everyone was already seated, all looking towards the stage.

McCann stood there, his expression compassionate and solemn.

three.

two.

One.

The gavel fell.

Live broadcast starts.

The world seemed to fall silent for a moment.

“Mr. Speaker, Mr. Acting Speaker, Members of Parliament, my fellow citizens.”

"Today, I am not speaking as a politician, nor as a commander, nor as a figurehead in an election rife with betrayal."

“I am simply standing here as an American, a citizen of the Republic, and a soldier who carries memories.”

Fifteen minutes to go.

McCann's tone was flat and even, like a stone sinking into an abyss.

Several rows later, some people lowered their eyes, as if receiving a sermon.

Thousands of miles away, some people stopped in their tracks, holding their breath.

"Two hundred and fifty-two years ago, a group of farmers, lawyers and pastors staked their lives, wealth and highest honor on an ideal."

"A nation founded not on bloodline, but on faith."

"They understood that the birth of freedom is inevitably accompanied by bloodshed; true freedom never comes outside of fire."

They called that fire a sign from heaven.

"Heaven has never allowed this country to live in peace."

"We are forged in adversity, tempered in war, and even in suffering, we are branded with a sacred mark."

"We were once on the verge of disintegration, and in the last century, we defeated the invincible Faustians and communists."

"After 9/11, we rose from the ruins and rebuilt this country."

"But what we are facing now is darker than anything we have ever faced before."

"It is neither peaceful evolution nor a foreign flag raised high."

"It is a betrayal that arises from the depths of oneself."

Ten minutes to go.

McCann's gaze swept across the audience.

There, he met with Indiana state legislators who had publicly opposed him.

The man now sat upright, his expression extremely respectful.

People change, especially political animals who live too long.

"I will tell the truth without any concealment."

Four weeks ago, Wall Street was drenched in blood.

"The financial heart of the United States has been turned into a horrific slaughterhouse."

"Within days, candidates fell one after another."

"Those who dedicate themselves to democracy die by gunfire, not by votes."

"This is no coincidence."

Nine minutes to go.

McCann's tone remained calm, but a strange sense of pleasure welled up inside him.

He remembered that night, the night he saw Severn's body.

Beneath the fear lay a hidden excitement.

Unknown, variable, ever-changing opportunities
“A premeditated attack, an insurrection disguised as activism.”

"Its aim is not merely to disrupt an election, but to uproot the entire republic."

"The lies quickly began to spread."

“They say that this government, your government, is a sham; that your president is a usurper; that only division can bring about a so-called new order.”

"So they declared independence."

“California, Oregon, and even those cities built by tech billionaires in the desert.”

"Their cries received a response from a foreign land."

“Those forces that have never embraced the ‘American Century’ dream of a torn continent, incapable of leadership and powerless to resist.”

"They were wrong."

"The Federation is not an option."

"It's not a fleeting emotional fluctuation."

"The Federation is a vow written in blood, and it will be protected with blood."

“I have no intention of being at odds with California, nor am I going to wage war against Illinois, Oregon, New Mexico, or even those people who have been misled.”

"But I must name those who instigated the rebellion."

“Vice President-elect Tamara has disguised cowardice as justice.”

"In that bullet-riddled banquet hall, she spoke through tears, not in mourning, not in solidarity, but in accusation, accusing this government, your government, of committing treason?"

Five minutes left in the countdown.

McCann finally felt genuine anger.

How dare that woman?
Shouldn't she cry, panic, and then submit to orders? Obeying the Democrats or the Republicans makes no difference.

Why do you have to speak up?
Why do we have to stand up?

Thinking this, his voice rose slightly.

"I want to solemnly declare: the only traitor is Tamara."

"And those governors who colluded with her."

“Those local officials who secretly communicated with the North, signed secret agreements, and mobilized state defense forces to resist the federal government.”

“They are not dissidents.”

"They are not patriots."

"They are enemies of the United States of America."

"Therefore, they will be treated as enemies."

Three minutes left in the countdown.

McKen paused, shifting his gaze from his prepared remarks to the audience.

The representative from North Dakota had pale lips and a wandering gaze.

Looking further to the left, the former Republican whip's fingers trembled.

He suddenly felt that it was all worth it.

fear.

Silence under oppression.

A gaze that was almost tinged with shame, one of submission.

“I have signed National Security Order No. 5001.”

"Starting tomorrow, the U.S. strategic nuclear command system will be put into final readiness."

"This is not a threat."

"It's not a bluff."

"This is a clear signal."

“Send it to all hostile foreign forces, and also to those domestic conspirators.”

"We will not allow fifty Americas to exist at the same time."

"We will not accept the birth of a second confederation."

"We will not negotiate with those who burn the constitution under the banner of 'truth'."

"To those eight states that have expressed their willingness to submit, I will accept you with dignity and forgiveness."

"And for those who remain silent and continue to resist, your time is running out."

"I have never desired division."

“I never asked for this extraordinary power.”

"I have never imagined governing the country under military law."

"But history never asks us what we want."

"It only asks, how much can we bear?"

"And my answer is, I am willing to take responsibility."

"I am willing to guard that crack."

"If necessary, I will use steel as the backbone to rebuild the spine of this land."

Countdown to ten seconds.

McCann straightened up.

This was exactly the scene he had been dreaming of.

Like Caesar standing in the center of the Senate.

Once the words were spoken, the crowd fell silent.

"You can call me the Lone Wolf."

Nine seconds.

"You can call me a tyrant."

Eight seconds.

"But history will give me another name."

Seven seconds.

"It will call me the President of the United States."

Six seconds.

"Its night watchman."

Five seconds.

"Its protector."

Four seconds.

"Its sharp sword."

three seconds.

"We will not die in silence."

two seconds.

"We will not be replaced."

one second.
