Chapter 115: Trapped
The first day of the new year was unusually sunny.

Sunlight streamed through gaps in the clouds above the window, falling onto the carpet in the study.

The bell rang ten times.

Igor leaned back in his leather chair, glancing at the stack of printed papers on the table.

He looked tired and didn't speak immediately.

The cigarette butt had burned down to its last bit, leaving only half an ashes.

The photo is in black and white, but the details are extremely clear.

Mikhail stood in the room.

Two bodyguards stood behind him, their expressions solemn.

And opposite him—Igor recognized that face.

Benjamin

One of Mossad's senior liaisons in Ukraine and Boris's biggest backer.

Now, however, he and Mikhail are in the same room.

"Where did you take this picture?" Igor asked.

"The apartment behind the old Navy Broadcasting Station," Zhou Yi replied. "Around five o'clock this morning."

"You went alone?"

"Yes."

"Did you go into that building?"

"I didn't go in; I went to the rooftop next door."

Igor tapped the table lightly with his knuckles, no longer asking about the details.

He believed in Farhad's abilities and that he wasn't a fool; there was no need for him to fabricate a false story without any reason.

He pulled out the next photo.

What moment is this?

"After they finished talking, they prepared to leave."

"They didn't do anything?"

"No."

Igor raised his head and looked at him intently.

"why?"

"Because I don't know what they're talking about, I don't want to miss any crucial information."

Igor nodded.

This is reasonable.

This also aligns with Farhad's operating logic—steady, ruthless, and not wasting ammunition.

"and then?"

“After they all dispersed, I followed Mikhail, found his post, and seized one of his men who was leaving.”

What did he tell you?

"They plan to move a shipment out of Kamine station today."

Igor's brow twitched slightly.

"What kind of stuff?"

"The man said he didn't know, only that Mikhail took this matter very seriously."

"I take it very seriously."

Igor repeated the sentence.

This was exactly the answer he feared most.

Ordinary cargo doesn't require Mikhail to risk being discovered.

There's no need for Benjamin to come and talk to them in person.

They met up almost immediately after the nuclear warheads were dropped.

"Do you believe he's telling the truth?"

"I have confidence in my methods."

"You disposed of him?"

"of course."

Igor turned to the third photo.

It was taken with a telephoto lens, capturing the moment the documents were handed over.

Benjamin handed over a few pages of documents, and Mikhail smiled.

He stared at the photo for a full five seconds, as if trying to confirm whether the smile was real.

“What do you think they’re trading?” Igor asked in a low voice.

"I do not know."

Any speculations?

"Sorry, no."

Igor closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair.

The sunlight fell on my shoulders, but it wasn't warm at all.

He spoke again, his voice lower: "How did you find him?"

“That Israeli woman,” Zhou Yi replied calmly, “I checked her name one by one according to her list.”

"A clue was found in one of the safe houses."

“After that, I followed that line.” “You’re very perceptive,” Igor said, looking at him. “Even beyond my expectations.”

"People around me also got that list, but none of them were able to do this."

Zhou Yi shrugged and said nothing.

Igor fell silent.

Alternatively, Mikhail might be planning to sell the goods.

Or perhaps he's planning to do something bigger with that thing.

Regardless of the approach, time is of the essence, and a decision must be made quickly.

Even more passively, yesterday's attack almost severed his three most critical lines within the government system in one fell swoop.

Rybak, Kuznetsov, and Altyn are all dead.

The remaining few were either too timid or too talkative.

In any case, he was unable to verify what was about to happen at the Kamien station in a short period of time.

Igor sighed.

"Mikhail's subordinate said the transfer is scheduled for today?"

He said it would be today, but he didn't know the exact time.

Igor stood up, walked to the French windows, and looked at the pine trees swaying in the wind.

“I don’t like using force, especially at times like this.”

He said slowly, "But there aren't many options left now."

"Boris has remained silent for some reason since yesterday."

"There wasn't much action initiated."

“That doesn’t make sense.”

"Or perhaps they are brewing an even bigger conspiracy."

Igor slowly exhaled and finally turned around.

“Benjamin,” he repeated the name. “I met him in Dnieper, and he was wearing this suit too.”

“If there is anyone who can convince Mikhail that he can provide sufficient protection, it is Benjamin.”

“I know,” Zhou Yi nodded.

"What else do you know?"

“I know this isn’t their first time meeting.”

"How to say?"

"When Benjamin met Mikhail, he showed no hesitation and made no attempt to control the situation."

"That state of affairs is more like a report where the process has already been agreed upon."

What do you think I should do now?

"."

Zhou Yi shook his head, "I'm only responsible for dealing with the people you think need to be dealt with."

Upon hearing this, Igor paused for a moment, then chuckled softly.

He reached for the phone: "Call Anton up."

After putting down the microphone, Igor looked up at Zhou Yi again.

“You did a great job, Farhad.”

“You don’t know exactly what those goods are, but that’s precisely why you have no incentive to counterfeit them.”

“And—” he pointed to Benjamin’s face in the photo, “this face can’t lie to me.”

"Did anyone else notice when you dealt with that subordinate?"

"No."

"very good."

Igor clapped his hands in satisfaction. "The window of opportunity we have is short; the operation must be completed today."

Just then, Anton strode in, looking a little tired from not having slept all night, but his face showed no dissatisfaction.

"boss."

Igor nodded to him, then gave the order:

"I will send out four groups of people at three o'clock in the afternoon."

"Three teams are tasked with surrounding the Kamine station, and one team is tasked with searching for Mikhail."

"The mission objective is clear: locate the goods, confirm their count, and then immediately load them onto the truck and take them away."

"Disguise the entire process as an armed robbery targeting a train marshalling yard."

Anton was taken aback: "Open robbery?"

“Yes.” Igor nodded. “The cruder the method, the better.”

"I'll clean up the mess afterwards."

“Fahd will accompany you.”

"—To avenge Alexei as well."

When the name was mentioned again, Igor's face showed a hint of emotion.

He paused for a moment, composed himself.

When he looked up again, his expression had returned to calm.

"Finally, Anton, you stay here for now. I have some details to explain."
