Steel torrents pioneering a different world

Chapter 120 If you don't behave, you'll be digging potatoes! Major upgrade to fighter jets! (10,000 words, including 3 bonus chapters)
173 kilometers away, the headquarters of the human pioneering team.

On the huge monitoring screen, everyone was watching Yu Qiwen gesturing animatedly with a native, a slightly comical scene that instantly eased the tense atmosphere in the command room.

Commander Man couldn't hide his disappointment: "I thought we were going to have a fight, how come the other side showed goodwill so quickly?"

"The artillery fire is the first step to show the savages our fighting power. That pot of instant noodle soup is probably quite lethal too. Professor Yu is quite the expert!"

Su Mingjin looked at the screen with a faint smile on her lips.

"The worst-case scenario can be ruled out for now. We can finally speed up our access to information about this other world."

Previously, they had been very worried that the intelligent beings in this world would be deeply interfered with by some kind of divine power, becoming unable to communicate and even extremely xenophobic.

When the whole world turns against them and rejects them, they can completely cut off contact with the people of this world and implement a border-cleaning strategy.

However, this method is not cost-effective and is not conducive to subsequent development.

Magic is mysterious and dangerous, and modern people are wary of it because they know little about it.

Modern technology can precisely decapitate, and so can bizarre magic.

Only when humans fully understand the application rules of magical particles, the spellcaster's abilities, strength, and spellcasting methods can they develop targeted solutions.

But humanity doesn't yet understand the truth of this world!

Besides this, extermination is not in line with their national policy.

If an individual were to travel to this world alone, modern collective forces would be unable to penetrate it.

Individual time travelers can use the power of the modern world to wipe out the entire world.

Anyway, they don't know!
But once the entire group arrives, the rules must be followed.

Extinction is the crudest and worst possible solution.

This would transform the troops from liberators and shapers of the original world into crazed beasts who only know destruction and slaughter.

Look at the old Russians back then.

When the core spirit is distorted, the once-powerful Russians eventually become something that everyone despises.

A corrupt thing may happen at the core of an organization's structure, but it must have the ability to self-clean and correct its own mistakes.

Otherwise, this organization will lose its original purpose and its correctness!
and……

We're in an industrial society now, only an idiot would kill everyone!
Developing another world requires human resources, specifically labor resources...

Wouldn't it be better to make people in another world willingly become beasts of burden... no, builders of a beautiful home, in order to help build their own homes?

A completely unmanned approach might make it easy for Dongda University to start its development temporarily, but the consequences will be endless!
Therefore, when they discover that intelligent races from another world can communicate, and confirm that the other party has the goodwill to communicate, even if they suspect that the other party may pose a threat, the University of Tokyo does not mind showing them its kindness and friendliness for the time being.

Those who stubbornly believe they are unfriendly can spend their lives growing potatoes in the permafrost after future selection!
At the very least, it can be transformed into fertilizer to enrich the soil!
When you are strong enough, you can persist in your actions at your own pace, and little by little, step by step, you will change the world into the way you want it to be.

Farming is just about irrigating during droughts, draining floodwaters during the rainy season, and controlling insects and weeds...

Farming and construction are what they excel at.

These things really can't be rushed.

If farming is delayed by others, land reclamation cannot proceed!
Young man, the truth is the best way to overturn the table!
Savage tribes and ignorant hangings, etc.

For more than a month, the troops have been busy. The drones are like eyes hanging in the sky, peeling back the secrets of this land little by little and presenting them to everyone in the command center.

As the first tribal cluster to be discovered, everything about it was recorded, analyzed, and archived.

The database contains a mountain of video clips about this tribe.

The findings of the investigation into the savage tribe were not exactly honorable.

But it's understandable!
Raids frequently occurred between these savage tribes.

For example, at night, some people attack other weaker tribes, dragging women away and disappearing into their tents; bloody fights break out over a piece of roasted meat, with the loser being beaten to death; and there are also the corpses of infants carelessly abandoned outside the tribe...

Each and every one of these incidents, if placed in modern society, would be enough to land someone in jail for life.

Although they knew this was the rule for the tribe to survive in harsh conditions, the people had less and less empathy for those savages!

A young staff officer couldn't help but speak up: "Are we... really going to coexist with a group of... primitive people like this? The cost of civilizing them must be very high!"

His words were met with silence.

This is precisely the doubt in many people's minds.

"That's precisely why we're going! If there were no difficulties, there wouldn't be any challenge at all! We have absolutely overwhelming strength," Su Mingjin said with a smile.

Everyone also laughed.

Commander Fu's eyes were deep, and he suddenly said, "Those savage tribesmen are smiling so kindly right now, but I wonder if they have other plans in mind. Do you think they might try to find out our secrets under the cover of night?"

The tribe that Jinhe belonged to was no benevolent force; they had repeatedly raided scattered savages attempting to migrate south, and had brutally taken their women and killed their men.

His inherent caution as a soldier made him never believe in such readily available acts of kindness.

Such things have happened many times in human history.

There are many examples of people who, for the sake of some coveted resources, completely lose their basic wisdom and end up getting rich quick.

“Zhao Chong and his men have other units lying in wait, watching them 24/7,” an officer replied. “If they dare to make a move, don’t blame us for chopping off their claws! The subsequent swiftness, training, and integration will be much smoother!”

Upon hearing the name "Zhao Chong," Brigade Commander Fu grinned, his Adam's apple bobbing involuntarily.

Zhao Chong's mischievous smile and that hint flashed through his mind instantly—

"Commander, don't worry. After we rescue the barbarians, we'll test their humanity to see if they want to be friends or fertilizer."

Some things are best left unsaid and cannot be recorded.

Those are bloody tactics that skirt the edge of the rules, dirty work to ensure victory, methods that cannot be recorded, but also a necessary evil to maintain the purity of the troops.

Commander Fu let out a long breath and turned his gaze back to the indigenous chieftain on the screen who was still gesturing with Professor Yu.

Hopefully... you can pass.

After chatting about this for a while and seeing that it was progressing smoothly, Su Mingjin turned to the data analyst beside her and asked, "How is the language translation and parsing unit progressing?"

"Reporting to Commander Su!" The young analyst immediately stood up, speaking rapidly, "We've initially established a vocabulary correspondence model! We've currently recorded 123 valid entries, mainly nouns, such as food, water, fish, stone, and clothing..."

Another staff member couldn't help but interject, "However, their vocabulary is indeed a bit... limited. Many complex meanings are expressed using a series of simple words plus gestures."

Upon hearing this, Brigade Commander Man grinned and said, "That's a good thing! It means their civilization is relatively simple, and our translation equipment can save us half the effort."

Su Mingjin's gaze remained fixed on the screen, watching the indigenous chieftain named Jinhe awkwardly mimic Yu Qiwen's pronunciation: "Never underestimate them! Their level of civilization only represents their current savage tribe. It doesn't represent other civilizations!"

Everyone in the command room nodded.

Language is a mirror reflecting the level of civilization.

However, the limited vocabulary only indicates that the tribe's civilization was still in a relatively early stage.

The people of the savage tribe have a strong learning ability, which means that the intelligent races in this other world are very smart!
This place is so cold and frozen, and such a vast area has such a sparse population. In this alien world with such underdeveloped productivity, it is probably not even as good as the environment of ancient Ningguta.

If the wild people living here are so intelligent, then what about the wisdom of the civilizations in the warm, humid, and lush southern regions?
The magic unleashed by the elves, their various weapons and clothing that can be described as works of art, and the griffins' magnificent saddles all indicate the existence of a civilization, or even many powerful ones, in the southern world.

"They're still not as good as us, at least!"

Everyone burst into laughter, and the atmosphere became relaxed.

Watching Yu Qiwen accept the food from the other party in the remote video and taste the bizarre cuisine without changing his expression, the people in the command center all showed admiration.

The exchange between the two sides was somewhat bumpy, but full of goodwill and novelty. Su Mingjin knew that the most crucial step on the front line had been taken steadily.

She withdrew her gaze, her expression regaining its composure, and turned to another person in charge: "The front line is temporarily under Professor Yu's care. Our work here cannot stop either. Has there been any progress in the analysis of the elven prisoners, the griffin corpses, and the elven corpse specimens?"

Upon hearing this, the relaxed atmosphere in the command room momentarily froze.

The head of bioanalysis reported solemnly, "Reporting to President Su, progress is slow. Since that female living spirit awakened, she has been swearing and struggling violently, making communication impossible! She is valuable material, and we cannot use special interrogation methods, so progress is slow."

"The griffin's physiological data is being analyzed, and progress is expected within 36 hours!"

In the presidential suite of a five-star hotel in the modern world.

Lin Li sank into the soft sofa, his mind filled with a high-dimensional perspective that clearly showed everything happening in the other world.

Watching Yu Qiwen's team's initial contact with the savage tribe, from tense standoffs to cautious probing, Lin Li couldn't help but show a complex mix of emotions.

He himself had dealt with those natives, and the experience was far from pleasant. Their ferocity remained vivid in his memory to this day.

Compared to his previous miserable state, the military's move was indeed a crushing defeat.

My gaze shifted from the main screen to a data panel in the corner.

[World Exploration Rate: 12.7%]

The exploration progress has almost come to a standstill, and the harvest of source material has once again hit a bottleneck.

Lin Li stopped looking at that and turned to something else—the captured female elf.

In the scene, she is imprisoned in a closed cell made entirely of silver-white alloy, with smooth, mirror-like walls without a single gap.

"It's so beautiful!"

Female elves possess a beauty that transcends race and perception.

If the limit of beauty for modern humans is a ceiling, then the beauty of this elf has directly pierced through that ceiling.

Her skin reflected an ivory-like luster under the light, and her figure was tall and well-proportioned, with every inch perfectly proportioned.

The most stunning feature was her long, green hair that still emitted a faint glow in the darkness, like flowing jade, enveloping her in a mysterious halo.

She didn't cry or make a fuss; she just quietly curled up in the corner. But her eyes, gazing at the other side of the isolation room, were like those of a trapped beast, full of ambition, and undisguised hatred and ferocity.

"Tsk, that look in his eyes, it's really captivating."

Lin Li stroked his chin, a somewhat "copyable" thought popping into his mind.

"Once I'm strong enough, I'll definitely try to find a Pokémon to be my guide, so we can spend time together and maybe even develop feelings for each other over time..."

He quickly suppressed this unrealistic idea, flipped his wrist, and touched the skin on his wrist where the "∞" symbol was engraved.

With a slight thought, a set of pitch-black individual combat gear appeared out of thin air on the carpet in front of him without making a sound.

This is the latest model of pioneering equipment that he "borrowed" from the time portal when he traveled through time with various equipment from the front-line troops.

Lin Li picked up the all-black alloy battle sword, weighing only 1,200 grams, and casually twirled it, producing a slight tearing sound in the air.

nice one.

It's okay against a single enemy, but against a group of magical units, this thing is no different from a fire poker.

He put the equipment back into his personal storage space.

"Our strength is still insufficient."

Lin Li muttered to himself.

One punch isn't enough to turn a can into a flat iron disc; its explosive power is even greater than that of the space warriors in science fiction.

The loss of those two energy projection clones was a lesson he learned the hard way, a lesson learned through blood. He still has a long way to go before he can dominate in this other world.

"Slowly strengthening them is too slow. There's also a limit to the number of individual weapons we can borrow. We need to find a way to get the password access to those weapons of truth."

"That's the real weapon of mass destruction!"

Lin Li's eyes flickered, but he suppressed the thought, got up, put on his coat, and prepared to go downstairs to the night market to grab something to eat and clear his head.

The moment he pushed open the door.

In a van across from the hotel, several young people dressed as food delivery drivers and chauffeurs were gathered together, discussing something in hushed tones.

A very faint alarm suddenly came through one of their earpieces.

"stop!"

The young man at the head of the group suddenly raised his hand, and the group, who had been laughing and joking, instantly fell silent. The relaxation on their faces vanished, replaced by a wolf-like alertness.

He stared at the moving red dot that had just appeared in the room icon on the tactical tablet, his voice extremely low, conveying it to all his team members through his throat microphone.

"Target moves, Group A follows, Group B provides support from the perimeter."

"Remember, we are shadows; never let him discover us."

Zhu Rihe River.

What was once a barren Gobi desert has now become a steel forest and a bustling construction site.

Tens of thousands of construction vehicles, like giant beetles, crisscrossed the swirling yellow sand, their roars deafening. The prototype of a future city was rising from the ground at an almost savage pace.

Such groundbreaking infrastructure projects have naturally become a traffic magnet for global media and online influencers.

A white private car was parked outside the construction site. The door opened, and a long leg encased in slim-fit jeans stepped out first. Then, a woman who could be described as stunningly beautiful stepped out.

She wore a pair of stylish sunglasses, had full red lips, and exquisite features that were flawless; she looked like a man-made beauty.

"Hello, friends, this is NIS's channel! We're currently at the legendary Zhuri River!"

The woman skillfully held up the DJI Pocket 3 and flashed a sweet, flawless smile at the camera.

Her name is Nis, she's Korean, and a travel blogger with some global fame.

She has been living at the University of Tokyo for the past two years and has accumulated more than 200,000 fans in China thanks to her beautiful appearance and fluent Chinese.

"Oh my god, look at those heavy trucks! It's insane!"

She exclaimed dramatically, and the camera followed a heavy truck kicking up dust.

"They said they were going to build a city here, and it hasn't even been a month! I bet in three years, no, maybe just two, this place will become a true city of miracles!"

Her explanation was enthusiastic, full of praise and amazement for the "Dongda speed".

She walked and stopped, sometimes bending down to pick up a strangely shaped stone and showing it to the camera: "Look, the wonders of nature! I'm going to take it back as a souvenir of this trip!"

Shortly after filming a heavy truck leaving, while returning to her vehicle, she accidentally slipped, stumbled, and braced herself with her hands on the muddy ground.

"oops!"

She let out a soft cry, and the camera shook, blurring the image.

No one noticed that as she regained her footing and brushed the dust off her hands, she quietly swept some gravel and dirt from the vehicle into the inner pocket of her trousers.

The whole process was so smooth and natural that it seemed like a harmless accident.

After filming the local customs and culture, Nis arrived at the designated visitor rest area, which is the closest that ordinary people can reach.

She pulled a DJI drone out of her backpack.

"Friends, the most exciting moment has arrived! The airspace here is open. Now, let NIS take you on a bird's-eye view of this magnificent land!"

The drone hummed as it took off, quickly presenting a spectacular panoramic view of the construction site on the live stream.

The barrage instantly boiled.

A smile played on Nis's lips as her fingers deftly moved across the remote control.

The drone traced a graceful arc in the air, seemingly filming the scenery, but its nose subtly turned towards a distant area under heavy surveillance, where vehicles and people were moving around unusually frequently.

That was her true destination.

She took a deep breath, preparing to press the lever low and launch a powerful attack.

However, the instant her fingertips touched the joystick—

"drop!"

With a soft click, all the signal indicator lights on the remote control went out instantly.

The drone paused unnaturally in the air, then seemed to be grabbed by an invisible hand, adjusted its attitude on its own, and landed precisely in an inconspicuous corner of the ground.

Two uniformed staff members wearing rolled-brimmed hats walked out of a guard post, picked up the drone with expressionless faces, and took away the battery and memory card.

The entire process takes no more than ten seconds.

"Uh……"

Nis's smile froze.

Before she could react, the two men in hats were already walking straight toward her.

Half an hour later, in a simple inquiry room.

“Miss Nis, your video is very well made, we all like it very much.”

A staff member pushed the drone and memory card back, a businesslike smile on his face.

"However, that area is a no-fly zone. For safety reasons, we've deleted the last segment of the video showing the illegal flight. Please be more careful next time."

"Thank you, thank you, Uncle! I'll remember!" Nis looked shaken, thanking him repeatedly before hurriedly packing her things and leaving. Back in the car, the panic on her face vanished instantly. She touched the few cold pebbles in her pocket and let out a long sigh of relief.

Late that night, several sealed bags mixed in with the hotel's garbage were left nearby.

Several sharp-eyed men in jackets quickly packed up the items.

In a somewhat shabby room on the other side of the city, a bespectacled young man with shifty eyes and a restrained and uneasy demeanor received the documents handed to him by a young man with a buzz cut.

"Send the message according to this!"

"it is good!"

The young man skillfully opened World of Warcraft and started playing the game with some other people.

A moment later, the young man stood up: "Brother, you can send the message according to the code now!"

The young man with the buzz cut nodded, and then quickly sent out some information via data transmission.

The young man wearing glasses was "invited" to stand aside.

The short-haired young man beside him watched all of this silently.

"nailed it!"

"Come on, let's go get some barbecue, and then you can post it on your WeChat Moments!"

"Brother, how much of a reduction in my sentence will I get if I cooperate like this?"

"At least one month! Want a longer sentence? That depends on your efforts!"

"Brother, don't worry, I will do my duty for justice."

The young man with the buzz cut glanced at the other person and nodded with a forced smile: "Good luck, your performance will be considered for future sentence reductions."

"Okay, okay!"

This young man hadn't yet committed an unforgivable mistake. When he went to Xiao Rizi (a place for science exchange) to experience its unique features, he was filmed and then became increasingly involved.

After being tormented by his conscience for over a year, he slept soundly after being caught, no longer felt anxious, and actively cooperated, just to get out as soon as possible!
The young man was given the opportunity to participate in the mission because he believed the other party was worth cooperating with.

……

Hours later, at the Pentagon.

Intelligence analyst Krall rubbed his temples wearily as he looked at the final report that had just been sent back to him on the screen.

“Geological sample analysis: The composition is ordinary quartz, feldspar, mica... without any special elements.”

"Satellite thermal imaging monitoring: No abnormal energy sources were detected, and all heat sources are consistent with large-scale construction activities."

"Conclusion: The activities in the target area are large-scale civil engineering projects, consistent with the official statement from Southeast University."

“Sir,” the subordinate added cautiously, “the people we sent there reported that the site is nothing but reinforced concrete and sand; there isn’t even a decent piece of ore to be found. It seems… it really is just a vanity project.”

Clara remained silent for a moment, leaning back in her chair, a hint of disappointment and resentment flashing in her eyes.

How many resources did they use, and how long did they plan this for? And this is the result?

Why spend so much manpower and resources on the Gobi Desert just to build a "miracle city" for the world to see?
"Heh, that's exactly how they always do things." Clara chuckled self-deprecatingly and waved her hand.

"Archive it, downgrade the target value level to low, and remove it from key monitoring."

"Yes, sir!"

He could never have known that at the very moment he gave the order, beneath that piece of land he had labeled a vanity project, a true gateway was continuously channeling the power of human civilization to another world.

In the modern world, the headquarters for pioneering logistics.

Li Weiguo hummed a little tune as he slowly refilled his purple clay teapot with hot water.

With news of their victory over the enemy arriving from the other world, the sword hanging over their heads was finally temporarily removed.

My tense nerves can finally relax for a moment.

The exploration team's initial contact with the indigenous tribe of the other world went smoothly, and a follow-up intelligence network is being established.

Everything is developing in a good direction.

Assistant Xiao Wang walked in briskly, carrying a stack of documents.

"Mr. Li, here's the briefing we just received."

Li Weiguo took a sip of piping hot jasmine tea, squinted his eyes contentedly, and then leisurely put on his reading glasses and took the top document.

The document's title is straightforward: "Summary of the Recent Phase-by-Phase Victories in Counterintelligence Work for the Zhurihe Project."

The report described in detail the recent activities of some spies.

"It won't stop for a second!"

Since the large-scale construction of Zhurihe, the area has been subject to a lot of spy investigations. Because of the high level of security and the intensive information gathering, it is easy to uncover the identities of spies who come here.

It will be faster than a caring older sister checking identities by showing her ID.

They even went so far as to pass on some false information to the other side.

In terms of intelligence gathering and processing, Li Weiguo had great trust in the people from the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics.

He put down the documents, took off his glasses, and rubbed his eyes. "These guys, they're dishonest, so dishonest!"

Xiao Wang laughed too: "If the other party behaves themselves, then it's no fun!"

"Haha...you...thank you for your hard work, comrades from the Security Bureau." Li Weiguo was in a great mood and even made a joke.

To use a ruse to lure someone into a trap—this is a trick our ancestors have used for thousands of years, and it has never failed.

The young man who was turned has done a good job, and his subordinates should make sure to record it. The other party, having heard he was sentenced to 20 years, will try to get a few days' reduction in his sentence before releasing him.

Li Weiguo turned to the next report with a cheerful mood.

It's about Linli.

This kid's life is as regular as a pendulum. Besides his daily exercise, he's recently become obsessed with learning how to make animations.

"Animated films?" Li Weiguo was taken aback for a moment, then remembered what Zhong Mengyao had said, "He's really going to make animated films?"

Xiao Wang added from the side, "Yes, I heard that she also enrolled in an online course and studies for two hours every day without fail. The monitoring personnel assessed that there were no abnormalities."

Li Weiguo chuckled and shook his head.

He was thinking about how the other person should depict the steel torrent pioneering in another world, and then he thought that if the other person made animation, it would be a personal hobby, which was better than thinking about random things all day.

He put the stack of reports aside and picked up the last one, which was also the thickest.

A summary of research progress from various research institutes.

He glanced at the list quickly, but when he saw the words "Institute 606", his finger instinctively stopped.

Institute 606, the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation Engine Research Institute, is the heart of a nation's vital equipment.

The report was short, but every word seemed to carry immense weight.

Li Weiguo suddenly sat up straight, his back ramrod straight, as if he had instantly become twenty years younger.

The leisurely, tea-sipping demeanor of the old cadre he had previously displayed was completely gone.

He held the thin report to his eyes, almost pressing it against his glasses, his fingers trembling slightly from the pressure, creating distinct creases in the paper.

Assistant Xiao Wang was just about to turn around to deal with other matters when he was startled by the sudden noise behind him.

He turned around and saw that President Li's breathing had become heavy, and his eyes, behind his reading glasses, were fixed on a certain line of words on the paper.

"President Li?" Xiao Wang asked with concern.

Li Weiguo did not answer. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he swallowed hard, as if his mouth was so dry it could burn.

He read the passage again, word by word.

No, I read it once, and every word exploded in my mind.

"Turbine blades based on special alloy materials have a 20% improvement in high-temperature resistance and a 25% improvement in strength..."

"Normal thrust-to-weight ratio...13.8..."

"Peak thrust...breakthrough...24.8 tons..."

boom!
Li Weiguo's mind went blank.

His hand, still holding the teacup, was suspended in mid-air, and a few drops of scalding tea spilled out and landed on his trousers without him noticing.

He could clearly feel his heartbeat, like a war drum, pounding against his chest, making him feel suffocated.

What does a thrust-to-weight ratio of 13.8 mean?
What kind of monster is a peak thrust of 24.8 tons?

He didn't need to look up information in his mind; the data he knew by heart just popped into his head.

The world's most advanced F135 engine, with a thrust-to-weight ratio of 11.47 and a thrust of 19.5 tons, is already hailed as the strongest on Earth.

Our own J-20 fighter jet, after a tremendous amount of effort, has only just managed to achieve a thrust-to-weight ratio of 10.87.

In the field of aero-engines, every percentage point improvement represents the hard work and astronomical investment of countless researchers.

But what does this report from Institute 606 say now?
Performance improved by 20%!
This isn't just an improvement, it's a leap forward! This is a generational shift!

“Xiao Wang…” Li Weiguo’s voice was a little hoarse. He looked up, his eyes filled with shock, elation and a hint of disbelief. “Come here and help me take a look. Does it say on this that the spur-to-weight ratio is 13.8?”

He even suspected that his eyesight was failing and he had misread the decimal point.

Xiao Wang quickly leaned over, craning his neck to look at the report, and read it out word by word: "...Yes, the thrust-to-weight ratio has reached 13.8, and the peak thrust has exceeded 24.8 tons."

verified.

It's not an illusion.

"My God... this number is so high!" Although Xiao Wang didn't understand the full extent of the terrifying implications like Li Weiguo did, he knew that this number was definitely not normal, and he couldn't help but gasp.

"Haha..." Li Weiguo first chuckled softly twice, then his laughter grew louder and louder, finally turning into an uncontrollable hearty laugh that echoed throughout the entire office.

"Hahahaha! Okay! Okay!"

He slammed the report on the table, making the pens in the pen holder jump.

"These engine makers, they're going to fly! No, they're going to revolutionize the engine industry again! And it's only been a month, just one month..."

He stood up excitedly and paced back and forth in the office, his wrinkles beaming with joy.

"One month! Just one month! I thought they'd be lucky to even have some preliminary theoretical results, but they just produced a finished product for me!"

"With this thing, what's the point of calling our planes fighters? They'll have to be called flying Gundams!"

Li Weiguo became more and more excited as he thought about it. The slight unpleasantness he had felt before because of the espionage activities had long been washed away by this great news.

"One month... just one month! Hahaha... good, good..."

The new material has only been around for a month. This isn't progress; it's like flying on a rocket!

The problem of the core engine that had plagued generations of aviation professionals in the country was solved with a historic breakthrough within a month, thanks to materials from another world!

This means that the new generation of Ginkgo Leaf fighter jets and a certain transforming fighter jet will have an unprecedentedly powerful heart!
As more materials are produced and the number of new materials researched by materials scientists expands many times over, it's impossible to imagine how many products with phenomenal performance will be created.

"Congratulations!" Li Weiguo slapped his thigh, his smile as bright as a blooming sunflower. "The comrades at Institute 606 must be overjoyed!"

"Mr. Li, you're absolutely right!" Xiao Wang exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement.

Li Weiguo let out a long breath, his chest almost overflowing with pride and joy.

He leaned back in his chair, gazing out the window with a deep look in his eyes.

The victory of counterintelligence only preserved the secret.

This secret must never be revealed.

After reading the engine report, Li Weiguo was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn't calm down for a long time. He forced himself to calm down and glanced at the other documents piled up on the table.

When he saw a briefing on the current situation of the "pioneer team" members, his brows furrowed instantly.

Deng Dakang.

The professor who almost lost his life in the other world wrote in his report that after returning to the modern world, he couldn't even lie down properly in the hospital for two days before plunging back into his research.

"Nonsense!" Li Weiguo muttered under his breath.

Xiao Wang, standing next to him, didn't dare to breathe.

The leader was all smiles just a moment ago, how come his mood has suddenly turned gloomy?

"This Professor Deng is simply reckless!" Li Weiguo slammed his fingers on the table. "Doesn't he understand that health is the most important thing?"

The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. He couldn't let a meritorious official who risked his life for the country ruin his health.

"I have to go over there!"

……

Meanwhile, in the pioneering team's ward area.

This place is less like a hospital and more like a heavily guarded sanatorium.

An Kang was standing at the door of a ward, his posture upright, like a pine tree nailed to the ground.

A soldier pushing a food cart came over and tried to knock on the door, but An Kang raised his hand to stop him.

“Comrade, let me do it.” An Kang lowered his voice and tilted his head towards the door. “Professor Deng is thinking about something. Don’t disturb him.”

The soldier delivering the meal glanced through the observation window in the door and saw Deng Dakang's back slumped over the table, scribbling on a pile of papers and muttering to himself. He nodded knowingly.

"Okay, thank you for your hard work."

An Kang took the insulated lunchbox; it felt slightly heavy in his hand. He took a deep breath, feeling a slight pulling pain in his chest.

It takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone, and his broken sternum had only healed for a month. He was still far from being able to go to the battlefield.

He didn't go in immediately, but waited quietly at the door like a patient hunter.

After waiting for more than ten minutes, until Deng Dakang inside finally straightened up and rubbed his temples wearily, An Kang gently knocked on the door.

"Professor, the food is here. Please eat something first, it's getting cold."

"Oh, okay, okay!" Deng Dakang turned around, his eyes still somewhat unfocused, clearly not yet fully detached from those complex data and formulas. "Comrade Ankang, thank you for your trouble again."

"No trouble at all," An Kang said as he deftly set the food on the small table beside him. His movements were steady, and he tried not to make any unnecessary noise.

“Professor Deng,” An Kang said somewhat embarrassedly, looking at Deng Dakang who was engrossed in eating, “when you go back, um… could you… include me in your project as well?”

Upon hearing this, Deng Dakang looked up at him and smiled.

"What, you want to go back to see the beast-eared girl... uh, I mean, the female elf?"

An Kang's face flushed red instantly, and he quickly waved his hands: "No, Professor, I just... I miss my comrades!"

"I understand, I understand," Deng Dakang replied, but his gaze unconsciously drifted to the blueprints on the table. He picked up his chopsticks and absentmindedly rummaged through his bowl. "I'll definitely apply to the higher-ups so you can have a good chat with them!"

Looking at Professor Deng's absent-minded appearance, An Kang felt both admiration and a bit of helplessness.

This old professor truly dedicated his life to research.

He didn't say anything more, silently left, and closed the door behind him.

After quickly finishing his meal, he waited a while longer, estimating that Professor Deng had finished eating, before going back in and neatly cleaning up the dishes.

Throughout the entire process, Deng Dakang's eyes never left the pile of data reports, as if that was his true spiritual nourishment.

An Kang tiptoed away, walking along the heavily guarded corridor towards the surgical recovery area.

The soldiers there had just finished fighting, and all of them bore more or less wounds.

Compared to the privilege of having a private room with Professor Deng, the atmosphere here is much heavier.

"Old Zhang, how are you feeling today?" An Kang pushed open the door to a hospital room, where a man with his upper body wrapped in bandages was struggling to sit up.

"I won't die!" Old Zhang grinned, revealing a set of white teeth, but the movement aggravated his wound, causing him to grimace in pain. "It's just that the gaps between my bones are incredibly itchy. I'd rather have those skeletons stab me again!"

The other wounded patients in the ward laughed, their laughter filled with carefree abandon.

"Could you tell me about your combat experience? I'm so envious!"

An Kang pulled up a stool, sat down, and lowered his voice.

After learning about the other world and recovering from his injuries, he was approved to return to his unit and immediately went back to his combat post. This was the main reason why he would come to visit every day without fail.
