"To the left of the Heavenly Path is carved an image of an Asura with three heads and six arms, wielding various weapons; this is the Asura Path,"

"Asura means 'non-god' because it resembles a god but is not a god, possessing heavenly blessings but lacking heavenly virtues."

"Directly below the World-Honored One, there is a black stone gate carved with a horse-faced jailer about to throw a sinner into a cauldron of oil. This is the hell realm, where the beings are filled with the heaviest anger."

"It is the place where the sinners go after death, where they must repay their sins day after day and suffer extreme torment such as torture, cutting, burning, and freezing. It is a place where all kinds of suffering gather."

"On the right side of the hell realm, there is a carving of a hungry ghost holding up a person and biting the person's head. This is the hungry ghost realm. The beings in this realm are born out of greed, and are hungry, poor, greedy and insatiable."

"On the left side of the hell realm, there is a lion, an ox, and a horse that are driven by people and devour each other. This is the animal realm, where all animals gather, with ignorance being the most serious."

"Among the six realms of sentient beings, the three good realms are gods, humans, and asuras, while the three evil realms are hell, hungry ghosts, and animals."
