Chapter 566 A Chaotic Morning
Chapter 566 A Chaotic Morning
After wringing out the excess water from the towel and hanging it on the shelf next to him, Jun Matsue observed himself in the mirror after washing his face.
He looks much more energetic; he should be able to manage for the morning.
He walked out of the bathroom and back into the living room, watching the girl humming an unnamed melody as she walked around the room.
"I've already said it once, but you're back way too early." The boy couldn't help but yawn.
"I should have been back yesterday evening." Yosei Kurusu drew back the curtains on the balcony, letting bright light into the living room.
"But the company asked me to bring a junior colleague onto a radio program, so I have to go to bed early and get up early to make the most of my time~"
"You're already able to mentor juniors?" Jun Matsueda blinked.
"Of course." The girl walked up to him, proudly puffing out her chest.
"I'm now the company's next big star, a leading figure among the new generation of idol singers who have created miracles with just two albums—"
"Come to Qiyangshi!"
"Alright, alright," the boy waved his hand. "This apartment can't accommodate so many people."
"What?!" Kurusu Yosei laughed out loud, turned around and pounced on the sofa, rolling around while hugging a cat paw pillow that appeared out of nowhere.
She lay on the sofa, looking at the ceiling. "Nothing's changed at home. I'm relieved!"
“You haven’t been back for over a month, not over a year.” Jun Matsue walked into the bedroom.
"Does Songzhi want to catch up on sleep?" The girl sat up. "I've put breakfast on the table, a beef and runny egg sandwich. Remember to eat it!"
"When I lived in the celebrity apartment, I often had this for breakfast, so I thought I'd bring it for you to try this time~"
"I'm just changing into a uniform." The boy glanced back at her.
"Have you forgotten that I have to attend classes for half a day on Saturdays?"
"Ah." Kurusu Yosei's mouth formed a round shape. "I forgot."
Mochizuki Haruka was woken up by her own alarm clock. She glanced at the time: 7:15.
So sleepy... The girl rubbed her eyes, threw off the covers, casually pulled off her camisole nightgown, and found a bra that matched her underwear in the closet.
Wearing a sailor uniform and school uniform skirt, she went into the bathroom, put on a navy blue scarf in front of her clothes, and tied it into a delicate and elegant bow.
What hairstyle should I get today...? Mochizuki Haruka's eyelashes trembled slightly as she looked at herself in the mirror and pondered.
"Twin ponytails, please." She quickly made her decision and reached up to tie her hair up.
Twin ponytails are cuter and more attractive to boys; it seems like Matsue likes them too.
It's been a while since I've worn pigtails; maybe this will make him even more smitten...
Remembering Matsueda Jun's indifferent attitude last night, the girl with her hair tied up stomped her foot in anger, waking up the cat lying in the living room.
7:30, a typical breakfast time.
Filling the empty bowl with cat food, Mochizuki Haruka stood in the entryway, bending down to change into her uniform shoes. She pushed open the door and picked up the key from the shoe cabinet—the keychain tag now had an engraved cat paw pattern.
As the girl turned the handle of the door to 507, she paused for a moment—she heard the voices of other women coming from inside.
"It couldn't possibly be the TV," Mochizuki Haruka frowned as she pushed open the door, entered the foyer, and met the gaze of Kurusu Yosei, who was sitting at the dining table.
Jun Matsuoka carried a fried egg and bacon sandwich out of the kitchen. He placed the plate on the table and took off his apron.
"Why didn't you sleep in today? I was just about to go and wake you up."
Because she had spent a little more time getting ready, Mochizuki Haruka didn't say those words aloud. She pursed her lips and sat down next to the boy, sizing up the girl across from her who was blinking her eyes.
"Why is this guy here so early?"
"Are you talking to Matsue or to me?" Kurusu Yosei asked, pouting. "This is my house, I can come whenever I want~"
"A mere deserter, yet so self-righteous." Mochizuki Haruka glanced at her with disdain.
The girl's eyes widened. "I'm a deserter?!"
Jun Matsue took a large carton of milk out of the refrigerator and slammed it on the table with a bit of force, making a dull "thud".
"There's no time for you to bicker now. Hurry up and eat breakfast, you have to go to school after that."
Mochizuki Haruka took the milk the boy poured for her. "Why did Matsueda only make one serving? Have you already eaten?"
"Because he wants to eat this!"
Yosuke Kurusu picked up the paper bag beside her, opened it to the girl, and showed her the sandwich inside.
The bread's crust is fried until golden brown and crispy, while inside are a fried egg with a wobbly yolk and a rich, juicy ground beef filling. The lettuce underneath cuts through the greasiness, and the complex aroma is incredibly appetizing.
In terms of appearance, it is indeed much more tempting than a fried egg and bacon sandwich served on a plate.
However, Mochizuki Haruka's expression did not change at all. She just said "oh" and then took a big bite of the sandwich in front of her.
The girl's mouth was stuffed full, her cheeks bulged out exaggeratedly, and she had some difficulty chewing.
“Absolutely… pine branches… taste better,” she mumbled.
"Thank you." Jun Matsue returned to his seat. "But please eat slowly, or you might choke."
Mochizuki Haruka nodded, picked up the milk and took a sip, only then did her chewing become smoother.
Yosuke Kurusu pursed her lips, ignoring the girl's attempt to gain favor. She simply pushed the paper bag in front of the boy and looked at him expectantly.
"Try this pine branch quickly, it won't taste good once it gets cold!"
Jun Matsueda carefully picked up the juicy, runny egg and beef sandwich, took a bite from the tip, closed his eyes to savor it, and quickly nodded.
"It's really good. The beef is very tender and fragrant, the rich flavor of the egg yolk is satisfying, and the seasoning is very restrained, neither too heavy nor too salty."
"Right? Right? And it's so satisfying to eat~" The girl smiled contentedly.
"When I felt sleepy in the morning, I would go downstairs and eat a sandwich, and it would immediately wake me up!"
“Living in the city center is definitely an advantage,” the boy smiled. “There are so many food options.”
“It’s not easy to find breakfast outside of chain stores and convenience stores where we live.”
"Then I still prefer living here." Kurusu Yosei blinked. "I can eat breakfast made with pine branches~"
The girl eating the pine branch sandwich looked up and rolled her eyes, but the idol pretended not to see it.
It's not like only Mochizuki Haruka can say flirtatious things!
Jun Matsueda calmly took a sip of milk. "I'm not here to be your babysitter."
“I can cook for Matsue too~” Yosei Kurusu rolled up his sleeves and made a stir-frying motion.
“Then we don’t need you anymore.” Mochizuki Haruka swallowed the food in her mouth. “Matsue has already eaten the food I made, and he said it was delicious.”
"Huh?" This time, Qi Yangshi was genuinely surprised. "You, a useless little cat, can cook?"
Jun Matsueda sighed, poured a glass of milk for Miss Idol, and shut her up.
"We still have class, we'll chat again when we get back at noon." The girl made a zipping motion with her mouth, then obediently lay on the table, watching the boy eat the sandwich she had brought him.
After finishing breakfast, Jun Matsue carried his schoolbag and pushed open the apartment door. He turned around.
"Shall we go then?"
Kurusu Yosei stood in the entryway and waved to him, "Come back soon~"
"Although I really want to come back as soon as possible, I can't decide when I go to school."
The girl's bright smile disappeared behind the closed door, and the boy turned around.
Mochizuki Haruka stood on the other side of the corridor, carrying her schoolbag in one hand and smoothing her hair with the other, staring at him with a somewhat impatient look.
"be quick."
The two went downstairs together, and the only sound in the sunlit stairwell was their footsteps. Matsueda Jun felt a little uncomfortable—he had just been listening to Mochizuki and Kurusu bickering in the room, but now it was completely quiet.
He looked at the girl beside him. Mochizuki Haruka silently stared at the steps in front of her, seemingly unaware of the boy's gaze, only showing him her perfect profile.
Her pigtails, tied with a sky-blue hair tie, swayed as she walked down the stairs, adding to her lively and adorable charm.
"Your hairstyle looks great today," Jun Matsue said.
Mochizuki Haruka gave a soft hum, "You should have said this as the first thing you said to me this morning. It's all because of Kiyoshi."
She had originally intended to say something seductive, like letting the boys have their way with her, but the current atmosphere was no longer appropriate.
"It's all because of Lai Qiyang!" the girl muttered viciously to herself.
"I didn't expect her to come back so early, it was quite a surprise." The boy opened the building door for her.
The two walked into the bike shed, took out their bicycles, and before getting on, the girl tossed her pigtails.
"It's a good thing you noticed, otherwise I wouldn't have talked to you on the way."
“How could we not notice that?” the boy said with a smile.
Wang Yueyao glanced at him, then, holding her skirt, stepped onto the bicycle.
So the girl had no intention of ignoring him at all—that's how a cat can be all bark and no bite.
For various reasons, Jun Matsue was inevitably a little late to school today. He walked into the classroom alone, and the girl with the new hairstyle was surrounded by her sexy friends on the way.
As he took his textbook out of the drawer and looked up, he was met with Tomatsu Tomoka's concerned gaze.
"Didn't you sleep well last night, Jun-kun?"
"I went to bed a little late." The boy yawned. "A mosquito got in last night."
To be precise, it should be said that there were two mosquitoes buzzing incessantly in his head.
"That's really annoying." The girl frowned slightly. "Did you get bitten? Jun-kun, should we put some anti-itch cream on?"
Jun Matsue shook his head. "We've already chased them away."
"That's good. Summer bugs are really annoying." Tomatsu Yuka smiled. "I'll bring Tsunku a spray next time. It works really well."
That way they'll all smell the same, the girl thought to herself.
Before the boy could agree, Mochizuki Haruka walked into the classroom, stood between the two of them, and placed the coffee she was holding on Matsueda Jun's desk.
"For you."
"Anyway, you won't catch up on sleep like I do when you're tired, so you might as well just drink coffee to get through it."
The girl gave him no chance to refuse. She put down her coffee, turned around, and went back to her seat. She took out a mirror from the drawer and checked whether her friends had messed up her hairstyle.
Tomatsu Yuka smiled again, "Tsun-kun is usually so hardworking, it's okay if he's a little lazy today."
Jun Matsue sighed inwardly; the two mosquitoes in his head started buzzing again.
The boy looked up at the calendar next to the blackboard: May 17th, Saturday.
There are only two weeks left until the end of May.
As Kominato Shoko entered the classroom, she interrupted the boy's gaze as he stared at the calendar. He lowered his head, opened the black coffee in front of him, and the metal ring that was pulled open made a crisp sound.
The bitter liquid went down his throat, making his mind clearer. Jun Matsueda swallowed his coffee and looked at the low-speed rotating fan on the ceiling.
The more awake I am, the harder it is to endure...
The morning classes ended quickly, and everyone left the classroom just as quickly. Jun Matsueda glanced at the urging message from Yosuke Izumi on his phone and stuffed his workbook into his bag.
"What are your plans for this weekend, Yuuka?" the boy asked the girl to his right, while Mochizuki Haruka behind him glanced at him.
Tomatsu Yuka thought for a moment, "Let's just live a normal life."
"Didn't they talk about the entrance exam at the parent-teacher meeting a few days ago? My parents are planning to take me to the University of Tokyo to take a look."
Matsueda Jun nodded, it seemed that Tomatsu's condition was stable for the time being. "Then you can take a look at mine while you're at it."
"The Department of Economics, right?"
He zipped up his backpack. "Haven't you asked me this several times already?"
The girl smiled apologetically, "I don't know why, but I have to ask several times before I feel at ease."
"And every time I hear that Tsunku and I are planning to go to the same school, I always feel a little happier~"
"Yes, yes, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo." The boy's tone was helpless, and he felt the girl's gaze behind him deepen.
"It's time to go." Mochizuki Haruka left her seat. "Kurusu must be urging you, right?"
Tomatsu Yuka's smile faded slightly. "...Yoshi-san went back to the apartment?"
"I just got back today. I said I'd rest for a few days." Matsueda Jun glanced at Mochizuki Haruka's sweet profile beside him. This girl was definitely doing it on purpose.
"I see..." The girl nodded, without saying anything more. "See you next week."
The boy picked up his backpack and said, "See you next week."
Mochizuki Haruka walked towards the back door of the classroom first, brushing past Tomatsu Yuka.
"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on the pine branches for you," she said softly.
The girl's eyelashes trembled. She turned around and watched the boy's figure disappear through the doorway.
"I wish I could live under the same roof as him," Tomatsu Yuka thought again.
She's been looking forward to university life more lately, perhaps because she's seen this possibility.
But before that, what kind of relationship will she have with Tsunku as they enter university together?
She puts on a show of happiness for everyone else, but flaunts her suffering to Tsunkun. How long can she hold onto her position as his girlfriend...?
Tomatsu Tomoka quietly packed her schoolbag. Before leaving the classroom, the girl glanced back at the boy's seat.
She felt like playing the saxophone.
