Chapter 391 Unforgettable
As night deepened, Jun Matsueda put his phone back on the bedside table and ended his call with Maki Yami.

The two chatted for more than ten minutes, just ordinary greetings before bed. The senior's mood was much calmer than during the day, and the girl should be able to get a good night's sleep tonight.

Jun Matsue got up, drew the curtains, took a sip of water, and went back to bed.

In the darkness of those few minutes before he closed his eyes and fell asleep, he recalled what the girl sleeping next door had said during dinner.

If the troubles outweigh the pleasures, then don't do it. This is a very simple principle.

However, pursuing most things in this world brings trouble in the process, and happiness only comes after obtaining them, which is the so-called "joy of success".

Therefore, he won't dwell on it; before the outcome is revealed, he just needs to keep moving forward steadfastly.

The next morning, Jun Matsue woke up in the sunlight that filled the room. He drew back the curtains, and the bright daylight shone on his face.

The boy stretched his body and yawned.

"Finally, the sun is shining again!"

Stepping out of the bedroom, Kurusu Yosei saw a girl eating breakfast in the living room. She blinked and pointed to the kitchen.

"Songzhi got up later than usual today. Your sandwich is warming up in the pan."

He went into the kitchen to find his sandwich, and when he returned to the living room, the girl had already poured him some milk and looked like she was about to leave.

"Kurasu, so early today? Do you have work to do?"

Yosuke Kurusu nodded happily, "Hmm, we're shooting an advertisement today."

"An advertisement?" Jun Matsueda looked up, traces of milk still on his lips. "Are you really going to become famous?"

"It's just a small step~" The girl stuck out her tongue and made a victory sign.

"So if Matsueda isn't planning to give up, please keep up the good work—you're my number one fan, you know?"

Jun Matsue watched the girl close the apartment door, then looked at the sandwich in his hand and took a big bite.

"Thank you for your encouragement, Ms. Kurusu."

During the fourth period of the morning, physical education, the boys in their sports uniforms were panting on the track.

Matsueda Jun gazed ahead, slightly raising his head. The sky, washed clean by the typhoon, was exceptionally clear, displaying a precious, translucent blue that reminded him of the white sand beaches he had once seen in Hokkaido.

He raised his arm and wiped the fine sweat from his neck with his right hand, but to Mochizuki Haruka standing on the green field, the boy's movement looked like he was adjusting the scarf around his neck in winter.

She changed to a stretching exercise, and the girls were all warming up on the playground. Next, it would be their turn to go onto the track.

"Finally, we'll stretch in pairs, back to back!"

The female teacher's voice rang out, and Mochizuki Haruka turned her head to look at the girl beside her.

Tomatsu Yuka glanced at her, her face expressionless. Mochizuki Haruka walked behind her, and the two of them wrapped their arms around each other back to back.

She bent down, and because of her height, the girl behind her had her toes leave the ground and her body was uncontrollably pulled up. The girl's hands waved frantically in the air for a couple of moments before finally stabilizing.

Mochizuki Haruka turned her head to look at the boys who had run to the other side of the playground. Matsueda Jun slowed down a little because the girls from Class 3-4 were warming up there, including Yamami Maki.

"Is this how things end between you and Yamagami?" Her tone sounded dissatisfied.

Tomatsu Yuka was also looking at the person opposite her. "Do you want me to yell and scream at school and make a scene that everyone knows about, or do you want me to ambush her on the way home from school and tear her face apart?"

She straightened up and placed the girl back on the ground. Mochizuki Haruka immediately bent down and lifted the figure behind her into the air. Tomatsu Yuka let out a soft cry of alarm, attracting the attention of those around her.

"It's nothing, it's just that Mochizuki-san is stronger than I thought." She gave a evasive smile.

Mochizuki Haruka below chuckled, letting the girl on her back fall back to the ground. The two separated, watching together as the boy rushed out of the bend and approached them once more.

"I know you won't just give up like this." Mochizuki Haruka swung her arms one last time, preparing for the exercise.

"Don't make me sound like the villain; I'm the victim here."

After saying this, Tomatsu Yuka took the lead and walked towards the track after the boys reached the finish line.

After school today, Jun Matsue did not go straight home or meet with his senior. Instead, he walked through the crowd in the corridor toward the activity building.

Pushing open the classroom door that read "Light Music Club Unit 2!", one is greeted by the energetic chatter of the girls inside. Aya Miyamura sits in the middle chair, holding a metronome that is ticking away.

"Brother Chun is here!" The girl stretched out her right hand and waved vigorously.

Izumi Mizuki, who was talking to Koyuki, also looked up and pressed the metronome in the girl's arms.

"We need to start discussing the band plans for the new semester."

Jun Matsue nodded, picked up a chair, sat down by the drum set by the window, and listened to the girls' enthusiastic discussion.

"We need to perform more new songs, right? The bands at those variety shows all performed their own original songs. It feels weird if we keep covering their original songs, doesn't it?"

"Then we need to write more new songs. We still don't have any satisfactory lyrics for the song we sent you back then," the minister waved his hand.

"Is writing songs that hard?" Aya tapped her chin with her finger, looking dazed.

"Didn't we have you try writing lyrics before?" Xiaoxing rolled her eyes at her. "What blue sky, white clouds, and stars? I thought you were writing a children's song!"

The girls chatted and laughed, while Jun Matsue hugged the back of his chair, the noise outside the window swirling around him—the cicadas chirping again after the typhoon.

"Doesn't Matsueda have any ideas?" Izumi Mizuki interrupted the girls and asked the boy sitting to the side.

Jun Matsueda shook his head. "You can discuss the schedule and performance plans yourselves."

But then the boy suddenly remembered something, hesitated for a moment, and glanced at the girls in front of him.

"I might leave the band by the end of this semester at the latest, so you guys better start looking for a drummer in advance."

"Huh? Why?" Aya Miyamura suddenly stood up. "Is Jun-nii going to join another band?"

The boy shook his head again. "I just want to focus on my studies."

The girl stopped talking and stared at him for a long time. She knew very well that her brother had never worried about her studies.

Izumi Mizuki's expression was calm; she was used to it. "No matter when you quit, as long as you're still in this band, don't treat us with a perfunctory attitude."

“I understand.” Jun Matsueda glanced at the drum set beside him. “I’ll give it a try with lyrics later.”

The first band meeting of the new semester came to an end, and Jun Matsue was the last to leave the school, facing the setting sun.

He walked past the bulletin board on the school avenue, where campaign notices, previously wrinkled from the damp weather, had dried and were now reflecting the dim sunlight.

But those wrinkles—the marks left by the typhoon—cannot be erased.
