Am I being simulated by their love affair.

Chapter 238: Words Travel Between Light and Shadow

Chapter 238 Words Weave Through Light and Shadow

Mochizuki Haruka quickly returned the workbook to Matsueda Jun, but Tomatsu Yuka's notebook did not come back with it; instead, the girl put it in a drawer.

The girl ignored the slightly resentful look that Tomatsu Yuka was giving her, and watched as the gyaru Rion walked up to her.

"Mochizuki-chan, we're still in the same class!" Rion shook the pink hair tie on her wrist, which was how she greeted Mochizuki Haruka.

"Hmm." Mochizuki Haruka also shook the black and white polka dot hair tie on her right hand. "It seems like there aren't many people I know in Class Six."

Several of the girls who used to gather around her seat went to science classes. Rather than analyzing characters' emotions in reading comprehension or studying classical Chinese, the hot girls preferred to study science, which had standard answers.

“We’re all only children here~” Rion put her hands on Mochizuki Haruka’s shoulders and swayed her back and forth. “Let’s stick together and work hard!”

Although the girl said this, her gaze shifted between Jun Matsueda and Yuka Tomatsu. There was no romantic atmosphere between the two, but rumors about them had persisted from their first year of high school until their second. After their school trip to Hokkaido, what was supposedly a one-sided love story turned into a love triangle.

Sensing that there would be many stories to tell in the back of the classroom, her gaze returned to Mochizuki Haruka. She wondered what role Mochizuki would play.

After the bell rang for the end of the fourth period in the morning, a buzzing start-up sound came from the classroom's loudspeaker.

"Please have all club presidents and vice presidents proceed to the third activity room for a meeting."

Tomatsu Yuka looked at Matsueda Jun, who had just stood up. Both of them were club executives and needed to attend the meeting.

Mochizuki Haruka also looked at the boy beside her. She had originally planned to have lunch with Matsueda Jun, but now it seemed impossible.

"Does Songzhi want lunch? I can bring it to you." The girl decided to try a different approach.

"No need, you can eat in the cafeteria yourself." Jun Matsue shook his head. "We'll probably be discussing recruitment at noon, it might take a while, and we might not have time to eat."

"Matsueda-kun, let's go~" Tomatsu Tomoka was already standing at the door, the girl waving to him, or perhaps she was showing off to Mochizuki Haruka.

After watching the two figures disappear through the back door, the girl left in the classroom slumped onto her desk again. Since Matsueda Jun wasn't going to the cafeteria, why would she run to a place with so many people?
"Rion, could you bring me a melon bun and a carton of milk when you go back to the classroom?" the girl said lazily.

"Good~"

Many people stayed in the classroom to eat, and the corridor was not quiet during lunchtime. Jun Matsueda looked around the corridor but couldn't find Ken Sakamuro.

"Where's Sakamuro? Wasn't he supposed to go to a meeting too?"

"He had already run out of the classroom when the broadcast came on, he should be in the conference room by now, right?" Tomatsu Yuka said with a smile.

In fact, when the broadcast first came on, Kenjiro Sakamuro looked in their direction, but after seeing Tomatsu Yuka's expression, he immediately made a "Understood!" gesture and quickly left the classroom.

"What should we do for lunch?" As they walked up the stairs, the girl subtly closed the distance between herself and the boy.

"Let's go to the convenience store and buy bread." Jun Matsueda prayed that there would be fewer people going to the convenience store at noon, so that he wouldn't be left with the fried noodles and bread.

There were only two classes on the fourth floor, making it much quieter. The moment the two stepped into the sunlight in the corridor, the girl suddenly asked.

"What does Matsueda-san think of Mochizuki-san?"

Jun Matsue turned his head to the side, and Yuka Tomatsu's eyelashes drooped slightly because of the dazzling light. The girl's expression was calm, as if she had just asked an ordinary question.

“Before, I was like a second guardian to her.” He paused for a moment. “As for now, we’re just friends.”

Is it possible for their relationship to evolve into something more than just friendship in the future?

Tomatsu Tomoka was somewhat surprised. The girl had initially thought that Matsueda Jun wouldn't answer her question, but now it seemed that the closer distance between them the night she cut her long hair wasn't just her imagination. "The future..." Matsueda Jun's tone was somewhat lost. As they moved from the sunlight into the shadows, he continued, "How could I possibly know about the future now?"

The two had already seen the door to the activity room. The girl gently tugged at Matsueda Jun's sleeve, pulling him back from stepping into the sunlight again.

"If you ever find someone you like in the future, could you please tell me right away?"

"I recently realized that I don't really like change, so if you have someone you like, I'll definitely need a lot of time to adapt."

"That way I won't show my ugly self in front of Matsueda-kun."

He stared at the girl for a while. "If someone like that really appears, I will tell you."

Tomatsu Yuka smiled gratefully, "Thank you, Matsue-san."

The two stepped into the sunlight and were spotted by a girl walking towards the activity room from the other side.

"Matsue~ Yuka-chan~" Tayo, the principal tuba player of the brass band, skipped and hopped toward the two of them, her voice cheerful.

"Is Matsue here for a meeting too?" The girl walked up to them and affectionately hugged Tomatsu Yuka's arm. "It's the first time I've seen you this new semester~"

“I’ve met many of my classmates from different generations, you just didn’t notice me.” Jun Matsueda smiled. “I’m the vice president of the newspaper club.”

"Ah~ I'm also a vice minister, then we'll have to continue working together in the future!"

After chatting with the talkative girl for a bit, the three of them walked into the activity room together, where Jun Matsueda found Natsumi Imokawa in a corner.

"My minister is over there, so I'll head over first."

Tomatsu Tomohana nodded, and she and Tayo found a seat by the window, watching the boy walk into a corner where the light didn't reach.

Jun Matsue sat down next to the girl who had her head down and waved his hand in front of her eyes. "Sitting in such a corner, will you be able to hear anything in the meeting later?"

"As long as you can hear me!" Natsumi Imokawa looked like she had just been saved.

"If there's anything to discuss during the meeting later, let Matsue do it!"

"If you have no objections, then it's fine."

Jun Matsue looked around and saw that almost everyone in the activity room had arrived. He saw Ken Sakamuro sitting in the front row, who was winking at him.

The student council president, wearing glasses and looking very serious, walked into the classroom. "Except for the hobby club, almost all the officers from various clubs are here. Let's begin the meeting."

Jun Matsue watched as the girl beside him fiddled with her camera to ease her anxiety, while the boy on the podium began arranging the booths for each club during recruitment. Everyone listened attentively.

"For student groups that need to perform live, we will arrange it together at..."

Jun Matsueda's gaze wandered with the light in the classroom, and Tomomi Kaoru Tomatsu, who was sitting by the window, came into his view.

The girl's sailor uniform shone brightly in the sunlight, revealing smooth skin at the neckline, and the outline of her black hair was dyed a dazzling golden yellow, attracting the attention of those around her.

So dazzling, so dreamlike, yet for some reason, Jun Matsuoka felt she was like a moth chasing after fireworks.
