Chapter 213 She is a cat

It took four days for the wound on Jun Matsueda's lip to no longer be noticeable. The shriveled soft scab looked like dark red lip skin and looked a little bloody.

"That bite was way too hard." Every morning after washing up, he would sigh to himself in front of the mirror.

After taking off his mask, Jun Matsueda began to apply lip balm so as not to attract too much attention from the girl sitting next to him.

"Um, what brand of lip balm is Matsueda-san using lately? I want to buy one too."

Tomatsu Tomoka looked at the boy next to her. They were now on the train. The girl blinked. For some reason, she always had the urge to kiss Matsueda Jun's lips when she looked at him recently.

Although it happened before.

“Here.” Jun Matsue took a lipstick out of his bag and handed it to her. The girl examined the small lipstick stick for a while and thought it was better not to open it and try it out right now.

"Thank you, Matsueda-san~"

The girl returned the lipstick to him. There were many people in the carriage. The two of them held the handrails. Because of the shaking of the tram, their elbows and shoulders bumped into each other from time to time.

Today is the day for the English proficiency test, which happens to be a week after Jun Matsueda watched the musical.

Nothing major happened this week, only the midterm exam silently reminded students that the short white semester is already halfway over.

"Matsueda-san, it's time to get off the train." The girl pulled his shoulder, and the two got off at Meidaimae Station in Setagaya, preparing to transfer to the Keio Line.

They waited in the station for a while until a girl wearing a sky blue scarf appeared at the entrance.

"Sorry for the long wait~" Yamami Moki walked into the station and smiled at the two of them. She stretched out her right hand from her pocket, and there were colorful candies in her palm.

"Same old fashioned, candy before the exam!"

It was still Jun Matsueda who chose first, and Tomoka Tomatsu took the same one as him. The three of them walked into the purple tram on the Keio Line. Fortunately, there was a seat available.

"February is almost over." The girls sitting together started chatting. Jun Matsueda sat next to them, wearing headphones and watching a spoken English video.

"We're already upstairs." The voice in the earphone wasn't loud, but he could still faintly hear the girls talking.

They're probably talking about the third-year students, right? The third-year class is on the floor above where the senior is, so there shouldn't be many people there by now.

After the common exams, third-year students were no longer required to attend school. Most of them had to take the internal exams of various universities starting in February, so the campus of Yuqiu High School seemed much quieter.

A white hand waved in front of Matsueda Jun. He took off his headphones and turned his head. Yamami Maki and Tomatsu Touka looked at him together.

The office workers opposite showed expressions of envy and jealousy.

"Is Matsueda-san's cold better?" Yamami Moki asked again.

"Oh, yes, thank you for your concern, senior." Matsueda Jun smiled, and the girl nodded with relief.

"It's good that you've recovered. The season will change in March, so Youhua should be careful too!"

"Yes~"

The train's announcement rang out, "The train is about to arrive at Hatsudai Station. The right door will open."

"We've reached Hatsudai Station ahead."

The train stopped at the station and the people in the carriage began to sway due to inertia. Jun Matsueda looked at the subtitles above the door.

The New National Theatre is right next to Hatsudai Station.

The next stop is Shinjuku, which is three stops away from Yotsuya where the oral test is located, so the three of them have to transfer again.

After getting off at Yotsuya Station, Jun Matsueda followed the two girls out of the station. The clear sky was a transparent blue, revealing the color that only appeared after a day of rain.

The temperature was still not high, but it was always above zero degrees. Looking at the people coming and going in front of the station, the boy yawned.

The snow that belonged to Tokyo had ended. "How are your preparations going, Matsueda-kun?" The upperclassman wearing a light blue scarf turned around and asked him.

"Matsueda-san and I have been practicing conversations recently," Tomatsu Tomoka answered for him.

"Is that so?" The girl showed a slightly surprised expression. Matsueda-san had never mentioned this to her.

"Are you confident, senior?" Jun Matsueda walked up to the girls. In front of them was Sophia University, which served as the examination venue.

"We will definitely get him!" Yamami Maki raised her fist aggressively, and Tomatsu Tomoka smiled and imitated her movements.

Jun Matsueda's oral examiner was a fair-skinned blonde woman with Nordic features.

The conversation was easier than he thought. From basic self-introduction to school life, subjects of interest, and reasons for choosing the school, Jun Matsueda answered fluently.

"One last question." The blonde older sister smiled sweetly, and it looked more like she was on a date than taking an oral test.

"Have you encountered anything new recently?"

The boy who had been smiling was in a trance for a while. He looked at the sky outside the window before speaking.

"I recently started getting a cat."

"Did you find a cat? Or a pet cat?"

"It's a friend's cat. She was going on a long trip, so she gave her cat to me."

When the examiner heard the boy in front of her say the word "she", her smile faded a little.

Jun Matsueda continued to speak, his tone sounded like a recollection, but also like he was reciting an essay.

"Raising a cat is really a hassle. You have to change the cat litter and add water and food regularly."

"Cats have very sensitive stomachs, so you can't feed them anything you don't like."

"Of course, generally speaking, cats' personalities are more sensitive than their stomachs." The woman in front of him laughed.

"When you're in a bad mood, it will stay away from you, and you won't be able to find it even if you try. But when you're in a good mood, it likes to follow you closely."

"Jumping onto my keyboard while I'm typing, licking my fingers, and running to my bed to wait for us to fall asleep together."

"When it can't sleep in the middle of the night, it will come and scratch my door. After I open the door, it will keep circling around my feet, wanting me to stay with it."

"Sometimes I like to talk, and I can talk for an entire afternoon, as if I want to vent all my emotions."

"Sometimes it won't say a word, it will just sit on the windowsill and quietly watch you, its eyes glowing in the dark. You know what I mean."

He opened his hands and made a glowing gesture.

"It's truly a mysterious creature," Matsueda Jun sighed. "Perhaps humans will never be able to truly tame cats."

"But I think you have tamed her." The blonde woman gave a charming smile at the end, and Matsueda Jun couldn't tell whether she was talking about the cat or herself.

When he walked out of the examination room, two girls were already standing at the door waiting for him. Judging from their expressions, everyone should be able to pass smoothly.

"How do you feel, Matsueda-san?" Tomatsu Tomoka walked towards Matsueda Jun, while Yamami Maki waited until they walked out the door before following them.

"It's no problem."

"That's good~" The girl snorted with pleasure, and the three of them walked under the clear sky.

"What did you talk about with the examiner?"

"Stories about raising cats."
