Chapter 354 The Final Front: Midsummer Crisis

Chapter 354 The Final Front: Midsummer Crisis

在17年7月20日的1.7大版本更新之后,8月份紧接着就是1.75版本的【终末战线:盛夏危机】

This swimsuit version is no small update; aside from the lack of updates to PVP, PVE seasons, and new gameplay, its main storyline is nearly two hours long.

In addition, there are a large number of skin and story updates.

Furthermore, the event storyline is made directly according to the standards of the main storyline.

The plot is quite simple. The main storyline is about a crisis at sea. The general plot of this version is that the omnics are creating a giant tsunami wave generator on a certain island.

They also attempted to use tsunamis to block human coastlines in order to prevent human retaliation.

To be honest, the storyline in this version is quite oppressive for players, especially considering the previous versions: 1.0 "Counterattack of the Ring City", 1.1 "Night Attack", and 1.2 "Counterattack of the Moon Ring".

Subsequent versions focused on humanity's counterattack against the omnics.

Version 1.4, "Iron Curtain Descends," and version 1.6, "Polar Reef," depict the power struggle between humans and omnics. Overall, the human side, as players, has the upper hand.

However, in this "special" version 1.75...

The game's plot, however, once again focuses on the omnics' counterattack.

Furthermore, due to the "swimsuit scam," many players were "tricked" when the opening animation of the main storyline of this summer event was released.

The opening animation of 【Midsummer Crisis】 features blue skies, white clouds, and an endless golden beach.

A gentle sea breeze caresses the swaying coconut palms.

A group of popular girls, including 95, A-017, M4, and WA2000, are chasing and playing on the beach in beautifully designed, cool swimsuits. Their silvery laughter seems to penetrate the screen.

Sunlight, ocean waves, and a young girl.

Many people were immediately "stood up" upon seeing this animation.

"I'm amazing! I'm amazing! Xingchen is my dad!"

"This water! This light! This skin texture! The budget is burning!"

"My '95 wife! My M4 wife! WA-chan! I want them all!"

Starry Sky Animation has always been renowned for its high-quality animation. Each major update delivers impressive cutscenes and frequently includes fan service in the characters' individual storylines.

However, it's still rare to see such a large-scale, high-quality release of fan service in the main storyline.

Furthermore, the person in charge of the storyboard for this opening PV is also very experienced and astute, completely understanding what the players want to see.

The close-up shot sways from the girls' fair ankles as they wade through the waves, across their calves covered in fine sand, and finally settles on their youthful and energetic figures.

The skin glowed with a healthy sheen under the sunlight, and every frame made the perverts in front of the screen howl with satisfaction.

When a familiar yet unfamiliar first-person perspective appeared, the barrage of comments reached a fever pitch.

That hand was holding a bottle of sunscreen.

It's from the "commander's" perspective!

In the scene, the commander walked behind WA2000. This usually proud and awkward tactical android had ears that were almost bleeding red and shoulders that were slightly hunched.

He said, "I can do it myself," but his body showed no intention of moving away.

The screen was instantly flooded with comments like "tsundere" and "hahaha".

Immediately afterwards, the commander dabbed milky white sunscreen on his fingers and gently applied it to her smooth back. WA2000 trembled all over and her face turned bright red.

A suppressed moan escaped her lips, and the sensation of that instant seemed to travel through the screen to the fingertips of every player.

"Kill me! Give me a quick death!"

"Let go of that WA2000! Let me handle it!"

"Star, you understand so well! I'm so happy! I'm going to go get last year's swimsuits replaced right now!" The players were so engrossed in this moment of bliss that they had almost forgotten the event was called "Midsummer Crisis," not "Summer Party."

I almost forgot, this isn't an event preview, it's part of the main storyline.

Sure enough, the next second, the scene suddenly jolted, and the girls who were playing stumbled, their smiles freezing instantly.

The camera abruptly pulls from the beach to the sky, sweeping across the entire azure sea, finally settling on a deserted island that has never appeared on any map, with a huge, factory-like structure on it.

Then, in a place that looked like a laboratory.

A girl hiding in a hood appeared. This is a "classic" anime villain girl who appeared in the later part of version 1.6, but compared to other anime villains.

This villain always exudes a strong aura whenever he appears; he's ruthless and doesn't talk much.

For example, this time, after appearing on stage, he immediately pressed the red button.

A muffled explosion came from the seabed, and the entire screen began to shake violently. The energy indicator light at the core turned from red to a blinding white, and terrifying energy began to gather.

Then the scene shifts to a vast ocean where patches of crimson suddenly appear deep beneath the sea, followed by a violent and low-pitched explosion.

The piercing alarm sounded throughout the Human Joint Command Center.

"Report! An extremely high-level energy reaction has been detected in an unknown sea area!"

"Sea level is rising abnormally! A super tsunami is expected to form within 28 minutes, covering Joint Coastal Defense Lines 3 through 7!"

"Damn it! They want to paralyze all our coastal ports at once!"

"There will definitely be follow-up attacks! What should we do!"

After briefly introducing the background to the player, the camera quickly shifts back to the commander's perspective.

"Get in the car! Quick! Hurry up!!"

The sand, which had been warm and soft just moments before, was now shaking violently beneath my feet, the fine grains of sand being jolted upwards like boiling water.

On the distant horizon, a strange white line is rising and thickening at a visible speed, rushing madly toward the coastline.

That wasn't a wave; it was a moving mountain range, a behemoth capable of devouring everything.

"Don't just stand there! Run!"

The camera then panned up, and the commander grabbed Ergen WA2000, whose ears were still red from applying sunscreen, and quickly got into the vehicle.

This animation segment was incredibly expensive to produce.

Because the animation has a lot of details.

For example, 95 reacted quickly, shoving A-017 into the back seat and then nimbly flipping himself in.

WA2000 stumbled as the commander pulled her, and he simply picked her up by the waist and shoved her into the passenger seat without saying a word.

There are many more scenes of humanoid figures getting onto the vehicle, and then another shot.

The commander jumped stylishly into the driver's seat and slammed on the gas.

"boom--!"

The troop carrier's engine roared like a beast, its tires spinning wildly in the sand, digging two deep craters before the vehicle suddenly lurched forward!

"Hold on tight!"

In the rearview mirror, the blue sky and white clouds that once stretched out before were now completely swallowed up, replaced by a massive white wave that seemed to connect heaven and earth.

The chase scene, which would be quite impressive even in a movie, lasted for about twenty seconds before the camera finally rose to reveal the game's logo and the title of the major version.
