Chapter 121 The Final Battlefront 11
Chapter 121 The Final Battlefront 1.1
"Why isn't the server open yet? I'm so impatient!"
"Yes, time seems to be passing very slowly."
Ye Feiyang looked at the downloaded and installed interface and listened to the noise in the dormitory, and felt that time was passing very slowly.
Speaking of which, in the few months since "Final Front" was released in March, Ye Feiyang has gone from being a casual viewer to a complete fan of "Final Front".
Not only him, but also Lao Wang, who was the first to get into games, and another roommate were also introduced to "Final Frontline" by them, even the one who didn't play it.
While watching their storyline, I'll occasionally come to check it out.
"Final Battlefront" is one of the topics that we occasionally talk about in the dorm. It's become as popular as what dishes are served at the cafeteria for lunch and whether we'll be eating breakfast at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
"I can't play Final Frontline! I'm going to die!"
Players who have waited for the server to open know that the first few minutes are the most difficult, especially since Ye Feiyang completed the pre-download of the new version yesterday.
The background of the main interface has already changed to the new version's pattern as soon as it went live today.
The new login background is a base under the moonlight, which looks very tranquil and atmospheric.
"Wow, this new login screen is awesome!"
Old Wang let out a sigh of admiration.
"It feels like the eve of a major battle."
"Indeed, this art style has a great feel to it."
While waiting for the server to open, the chat in the dormitory never stopped, and Ye Feiyang also kept clicking to enter the game.
With each click, maintenance reminders kept popping up.
Suddenly, with a click, the system did not display a maintenance reminder, but instead entered a loading screen after a zoom-in animation.
"Hey, the server opened early!! It opened early!!?"
Holy crap, it really is!!
"Wait, I haven't finished updating yet! Wait for me!"
Ignoring the noisy dormitory, Ye Feiyang quickly put on his headphones, leaned forward slightly, and quickly got into the game.
The familiar in-game loading screen, restart, and re-entering the game brought Ye Feiyang back to the familiar base.
The first half of version 1.1 has a very straightforward plot, and its main storyline actually has some foreshadowing.
Since version 1.0, players in the base mode have frequently received daily tasks such as sweeping, collecting resources, and preparing for counterattacks.
These daily tasks often include mention of the impending counterattack.
Version 1.1 is now officially launched. After more than two months of preparation, humanity has decided to fight back.
However, the way this storyline is presented in Final Frontline is not through any "pre-battle" broadcasts or narration explaining the battle objectives, but through a very clever little game.
Due to electromagnetic silence, the 1.1 storyline begins with a cavalryman delivering a roll of cardboard to the camp.
The player opens the box, which contains three items: a mechanical pocket watch that has been set to time, a map, and a detailed battle plan.
You can click to view any of the three items.
The pocket watch goes without saying.
The battle plan is a bunch of text, but the player doesn't need to read it. The commander, played by the player, will pick up the battle plan and perform a very straightforward "translation."
"Yes, it's time. Lift the electromagnetic silence and launch the counterattack simultaneously... Understood..."
Finally, there are paper maps.
This map can be unfolded. On it, a rough battle diagram is drawn, roughly illustrating that the player's frontline base will advance simultaneously with other frontline bases.
Advance to a city marked Esmaine, which has a river running through its center. The minimum objective is to capture the entire east bank of the river and establish a defensive line.
The strategic intent is clear, and the objectives are also clear.
In the paper map section, Starry Sky Games has also added a very interesting little feature: on the left side of the map, there are some arrows, trenches, key attack points, and other graphics.
Players can use a "pen" to add to their battle plans and draw attack points on the map.
"Hey, do you think I'm a primary school student? Who would draw maps on this for no reason? It shouldn't affect the plot, right?"
Although Ye Feiyang muttered something under his breath, he obediently picked up the "pen" and began to mark on the map.
Old Wang, who was standing next to him, had obviously joined in the fun and even patted Ye Feiyang on the shoulder.
"Look at this! Breakthrough in the middle, flanking from both sides—textbook example!"
"That's just feeding the enemy kills. Watch me, we'll launch a multi-pronged attack and push forward from all sides!"
Although this system is actually completely useless and does not provide any bonus to actual combat, it does satisfy the immature desire of some players to "command the world" and "point out the flaws in the world" when they see the map.
Ye Feiyang glanced at the drawing after finishing it, and well, it looked pretty decent.
As the map was closed, the screen went dark.
The story has entered its second phase, and the opening animation for version 1.1 has arrived.
When the screen lit up again, the perspective had shifted to the commander's office.
The player, playing the commander, is sitting in a chair, holding a mechanical pocket watch in his hand. The camera zooms in, and under the moonlight, the second hand of the pocket watch ticks away, each tick like a tap on one's heart.
time up.
The hour, minute, and second hands of the pocket watch coincide at the twelve o'clock position.
The commander picked up a pen from the table, quickly signed his name at the end of the battle plan, and placed it into a machine. As the machine's light began to scan the signature, it soon changed from green to red.
[Please confirm, Commander]
An emotionless, mechanical voice came from the command room.
The commander didn't speak, but silently placed his hand on the machine, glanced at the base bathed in moonlight outside the window, and then pressed down hard.
As soon as the confirmation button was pressed, the entire base seemed to be instantly awakened.
"Shh-"
A streak of light swept past the window of the command room, followed by a second, and then a third.
The once tranquil base was suddenly illuminated by a series of lights within seconds: corridors, hangars, and runway indicator lights.
After a long performance, the camera suddenly shot through the glass of the command room, rapidly zoomed up, passed through the clouds, and arrived at an altitude of 10,000 meters.
Looking down, a single point of light suddenly appeared on the otherwise pitch-black earth.
That was the base where Ye Feiyang was located.
Then, as if by prior arrangement, the second, the third, the tenth, the hundredth... hundreds and thousands of points of light lit up one after another on the dark earth, as if responding to a silent command.
Images began to flash rapidly, showing commanders of different skin colors issuing the same orders in their respective command posts.
