Lu Ran snapped back to reality and slapped the head of the fast-sleeping Detective No. 2 Rat.

"Wake up."

"Hmm..." Detective Mouse No. 2 scratched his butt and rolled over.

Lu Ran's face darkened, and he gave Bella a look. The dog immediately understood, bit Detective No. 2 Rat, then tossed its head into the air and caught it as Detective No. 2 Rat let out a terrified scream.

Lu Ran then climbed onto the guy's back.

"Let's go, I'll go back and get the letter first."

Lu Ran glanced at Detective Number Two, who was rolling his eyes. "Alright, alright, stop playing dead. Next time something like last night happened, you need to let me know. Don't sneak in alone."

The outcome was good, but if Lu Ran hadn't come last night, the little mouse would have exhausted its energy researching magic and fallen asleep in the wild. As the bottom of the food chain, any slightly larger animal that passed by would probably have ended up in its stomach.

Looking back now, Lu Ran felt incredibly lucky. When he woke up and saw the terrified insects all over the ground, he realized how fortunate he was to have escaped a double kill last night.

Detective Mouse Number Two scratched his head sheepishly: "Okay, boss."

Lu Ran rubbed the guy's head: "It's not your fault, you're still very capable. You deserve to be the second-best detective rat after me."

She hadn't gone too far last night; Bella sped up a bit and returned to the main house in no time.

Lu Ran jumped off the dog's back. He didn't know if it was because he had slept on the ground all night, but his body was a little sore. After running a few steps, he felt something was wrong and stretched a few times, which made him feel better.

Lu Ran had just gone upstairs and was still looking when Bella hurriedly brought the item over, sticking out her tongue and looking excited.
