The birth of an actor

Chapter 82 Remarks on the launch

Chapter 82 Remarks on the launch
It's going to be available again...

It's a good opportunity to have a heart-to-heart talk.

Let me first explain the book's structure.

After writing so many entertainment articles, I realized that I've never actually written about the profession of "actor," so I started writing.

To be honest, I'm quite annoyed by the way movies use short video platforms to create trailers and other promotional materials. It seems to kill my anticipation for films that haven't been released yet.

For example, there are always scenes like "the director was moved", "the staff was moved", and "everyone applauded".

Moreover, when I was reading the book, I paid attention to a few news items, including one about Lei Jiayin from the TV series "Lychee". Netizens commented on him with phrases like "Why do I always see Lei Jiayin?" and "I'm tired of his works".

But when I checked, I found that he only makes one or two films a year.

It's not particularly frequent.

I'm really puzzled as to why netizens, including myself, always feel like he's everywhere.

Why do I have this feeling of déjà vu?

The final conclusion I came to was that he followed a similar approach in every role he played, whether it was a period drama or a modern drama.

Because it was all about the same, the audience was getting a little tired.

The same goes for Zhang Songwen.

They all give me that feeling.

Then I let my imagination run wild and suddenly I wanted to write a story about a very pure actor.

He doesn't appear on many variety shows, has few scandals, and is only seen in his dramas. His private life is shrouded in mystery, and the few glimpses he does are often the subject of much discussion. Furthermore, audiences highly regard his work.

I want to write a story like this.

Or, as I stated in "The Director," I firmly believe that a true actor shines brightly on screen but fades into obscurity off screen.

He can live in the discussions, debates, and topics of other people's lives. But he will never live in the public eye forever.

Therefore, you can see that the current pacing of this book is quite different from traditional entertainment novels.

Because the tone I set in the early stages was "the story of an ordinary person's growth".

Furthermore, the process from filming to release requires a certain period of time, especially for actors and their types of content. This is quite difficult to manage.

Too fast... The characters are monotonous.

Too slow... too bland.

And my style is to hide the lines in plain and simple.

So even the editor told me it was too bland. I know that too. And the data, including follow-up reading, also proves this point.

But... how should I put it?

I still want to write a story about an actor both on and off screen.

To be honest, I didn't even intend to write about "Princess Pearl" at first, because I racked my brains but couldn't think of any scenes in "Princess Pearl" that could prove the main characters were very talented in acting.

This is the conclusion I came to after enduring the melodramatic plot of the first season of "Princess Pearl" twice.

Good heavens, what was it about this show that I liked back then... why did I sit in front of the TV and watch it so intently?
It's unbearable to watch.

Fortunately, 96 is finally coming to an end. The long build-up is almost over.

And starting in 97...

I really want to quote a line from Director Feng's film "If You Are the One":
"1997 has passed, and I miss it very much."

Starting in 97, it was also a year of change in the film and television industry.

Wang Shuo went to the United States, the old generation of Beijing elites faded away, the environment of highly concentrated resources began to collapse, and Huayi Brothers began to take over.

This industry began to race wildly through what now appears to be a surreal, unbridled growth cycle.

I find this era very interesting.

Unspoken rules, coal mine owners, gray areas...

I want to write about all of them.

I want to show you something new.

I hope I won't let everyone down.

Finally, it comes down to the same old saying.

You are all my providers, and I will always remember your kindness as I finish eating and drinking.

I will work diligently to bring you a good story.

Let's wait and see.

My new book is now available. Please support it!

By the way, I'd love to ask for some monthly votes at the beginning of the month. Thank you so much!

The old dog thanks you!
