Chapter 185 Sakura with a Fever

The metal puppets responsible for tending the spiritual plants, the thriving wood-attribute spiritual herbs, the water-based spiritual springs for irrigation, the fertile earth-attribute spiritual soil, and the seed of fire he had deliberately left behind when he cultivated the Samadhi True Fire were all perfect for practicing the Five Elements Escape Technique.

He had already mastered Earth Escape Technique, and now he tried Water Escape Technique and Wood Escape Technique. He felt that they were similar to Earth Escape Technique. He circulated his spiritual power into the spiritual spring, and his body flowed through it like water without any obstruction.

When you get close to the spiritual herbs, the spiritual energy blends with the scent of the plants. With a light step, you can disappear into the vines, as if you have become one with the entire patch of spiritual plants.

When it was time to use the Metal Escape technique, Ye Hui transformed his spiritual power into the Metal element and walked towards the metal puppet not far away.

The next second, his body pierced directly into the puppet's metal torso.

The cold, hard touch came from all directions, and it was as if no external sounds could be heard except for the mechanical sound of gears turning inside the puppet.

At this moment, he felt like a mindless machine, and this sense of isolation made him uncomfortable.

Ye Hui frowned, mobilized his spiritual power, and passed through the other end of the puppet back to the land of the spirit field, only then did he feel that his breathing was easier.

Finally, there's Fire Release.

Ye Hui walked to the ball of Samadhi True Fire, took a deep breath, connected his spiritual power with the violent aura of the flame, and stepped into the fire.

"Master!" Qingque flew over to find him and saw Ye Hui being engulfed by flames. She was so frightened that she let out a sharp scream. She even forgot that she also had the ability to control fire. Without thinking, she rushed towards the flames, trying to pull him out.

However, before Qingque could get close to the edge of the flames, Ye Hui's figure emerged from the other end of the flames. There were no burn marks on his body, only the hem of his clothes was slightly swaying in the fire wind.

"I'm fine, don't worry." He smiled at the bluebird, whose face was full of worry and whose wings were still trembling, and reached out to pat its head.

When he was walking through the flames, he could clearly feel the violent power of the flames, as if they were going to burn every inch of his body's meridians to ashes.

But at the same time, he could also feel a kind of rebirth power after destruction.

The old energy was consumed by the flames, and new power was born in the burning.

Perhaps, this is the true essence of the Way of Fire.

If it is not broken, it cannot be established; if it is broken, it will be established.

Having mastered all five elements of escape techniques, the next step is to practice finger transformation.

Ye Hui walked to a corner of the spirit field, picked up a smooth stone about the size of a fist, stood still, took a deep breath, and gathered his spiritual power in his right index finger.

"Finger Transformation!" He pointed his fingertip at the stone, slowly channeling spiritual power into it, while clearly visualizing the shape of a leaf in his mind.

The veins of the leaves, the curvature of the leaves, and even the serrations on the edges of the leaves are all clearly deciphered.

A faint white light emanated from the surface of the stone, lasting for a few seconds before gradually fading away.

However, the stone remained the same stone, unchanged except for a slight increase in surface temperature.

"Failed?" Ye Hui raised an eyebrow, not too surprised.

The ability to transform into supernatural powers requires mastery of details, so it's normal to fail the first time.

He tried again.

This time, he deliberately slowed down the speed of injecting spiritual energy and focused his mind on the detail of the leaf veins.

The white light on the stone's surface shone again.

This time, several shallow lines actually appeared on the surface of the stone, vaguely resembling the shape of leaf veins, but the overall shape was still that of a stone, making it look incongruous.

"What is this? Stone leaves?" Ye Hui looked at the half-finished product in his hand and smiled helplessly.

Over the next half hour, he tried several more times, but the results were not very satisfactory.

Either the stone remained completely still, or it underwent a slight change but remained stone, with only a few blurry lines appearing.

The most successful attempt only slightly pointed one end of the stone, barely giving it the outline of a leaf; it was still far from being a true finger-like shape.

"Could it be that my method is wrong?" Ye Hui stopped what he was doing and fell into deep thought.

His attempt just now was merely using spiritual power to forcibly change the external form of the stone, ignoring its inherent "quality".

Stones are hard minerals, while leaves are fibrous plant tissues; their compositions are quite different.

To turn a stone into a real leaf, you can't just change its shape; you have to fundamentally change its nature, transforming its mineral structure into that of plant fibers.

Thinking of this, Ye Hui's eyes lit up, and he picked up the stone that had been dented and battered again.

This time, he did not rush to inject spiritual power, but instead slowly spread his divine sense to envelop the entire stone.

His divine sense penetrated into the stone, carefully analyzing the arrangement of each mineral particle and sensing the "Tao" contained within the stone itself.

That kind of calm, hard, lifeless quality.

"Shedding its stone-like nature, it transforms into grass and trees, becoming a leaf that can dance lightly in the wind..."

Ye Hui silently recited in his heart, using his divine sense to guide the slow reconstruction of the stone's internal structure while gently injecting spiritual power, which flowed along the reconstructed patterns, as if weaving a new 'life network'.

The stone's surface shone brightly again, this time with a softer and longer-lasting luster than before.

As the light faded, the gray stones disappeared, replaced by a vibrant green leaf.

The leaves are thin and soft, with clearly visible veins, natural serrations on the edges, and even the fine hairs on the leaf surface are lifelike, just like real leaves.

If Ye Hui hadn't witnessed it with his own eyes, he would never have been able to tell that it had once been a stone.

"Success!" Ye Hui looked at the leaf on his fingertip, smiled calmly, but felt a little happy inside.

He found the key to cultivating the Finger Transformation Divine Power!

[You've successfully grasped the basics of the Finger Transformation Technique! You've transformed an ordinary stone into a lifeless leaf! Clearly, your talent is indeed low, only reaching this level!]

Ye Hui couldn't help but chuckle when he saw the system log—he didn't think it was useless at all.

If stones can be turned into leaves, can ordinary iron blocks also be transformed into Geng metal containing spiritual energy?
How to transform common herbs into ancient Ganoderma lucidum?

In this way, to some extent, can one truly achieve the effect of words becoming law?
The potential of this supernatural power is far more than just turning stones into leaves!
Ye Hui became interested and found an ordinary peach wood branch in the spirit field, deciding to try again.

This time, he's going to turn the wood into a bird.

A bird that looks exactly like a bluebird!
Ye Hui placed the peach wood branch on the ground, pointed his fingertips at the wood, took a deep breath, and activated his supernatural power again.

"Finger Transformation!"

The light quickly enveloped the peach wood branches, and the shape of the wood was constantly twisted and reshaped in the light.

First, it grew a round body, then spread its wings, followed by a small head and a tail with golden feathers.

Every detail gradually became clear under Ye Hui's divine sense guidance.

Soon, the light faded, and a wooden bluebird appeared in front of Ye Hui.

The blue feathers were dyed from the grain of peach wood, the golden tail feathers were made of stacked wood shavings, and even the eyes were inlaid with black wood chips.

In terms of appearance, it is exactly the same as a real bluebird, even the curvature of its wings is exactly the same.

"Chirp?" The blue sparrow flew down from the spirit fruit tree, saw its "kind" on the ground, tilted its head curiously, flapped its wings and went over to rub its little head against the wooden bird's body.

The wooden bird showed no reaction whatsoever, maintaining its outstretched wings posture. The cold, hard texture of the wood contrasted sharply with the soft feathers of the bluebird.

"It looks like just an ordinary wood carving." Ye Hui looked at the wooden bird in front of him and shook his head in disappointment.

Although it is remarkably lifelike in appearance, the wooden bluebird has no vitality or spirit; it is merely an exquisite wooden ornament.

It seems that with his current cultivation level, creating life out of thin air is still too far-fetched.

However, achieving a perfect replica in appearance has exceeded his expectations.

Ye Hui withdrew his supernatural powers with satisfaction, deciding to slowly figure out how to endow the finger-shaped objects with more characteristics in the future.

When Ye Hui returned to his room, he glanced out the window.

Before I knew it, the sky had turned gloomy, with thick, dark clouds hanging low as if to shroud the entire town of Tomoeda. The air was humid and stuffy.

It looks like a heavy rain is coming soon.

……

The next morning, Ye Hui woke up from his cultivation state. As soon as he opened his eyes, he heard the sound of rain pouring down outside the window.

He got up, walked to the window, and drew back the curtains.

It was pouring rain outside. Large raindrops pounded against the glass, splashing water everywhere. The streets in the distance were soaked by the rain, and pedestrians hurried along with their umbrellas.

Qingque didn't get up with him today.

Yesterday, they played too wildly in the spirit field and ate a lot of spirit fruits. Now they are curled up in their nest taking a nap, their little heads buried under their wings, sleeping soundly.

Ye Hui packed his schoolbag, opened a blue umbrella and went out. When he arrived at the intersection where he had agreed to meet Zhi Shi, he saw that she was already waiting there with a black umbrella.

The umbrella has a simple solid color and slender ribs, which match her school uniform perfectly.

Good morning, Ye Huijun.

Good morning, Tomoyo-chan.

The two spoke at the same time, then smiled at each other, and even the sound of the rain seemed to soften.

Ye Hui walked to Zhi Shi's side and naturally tilted his umbrella towards her, shielding her from the rain.

As for himself, he would suddenly disappear when the rain came.

"Thank you, Ye Huijun." Zhi Shi looked up at him, her purple eyes curving gently in the rain and mist, and whispered her thanks, raising her hand to tidy her wind-blown hair.

【Daodaiji Chiyo’s Emotion Value +7】

The two walked side by side in the rain.

The dark blue and black umbrellas stood very close together in the rain.

Rainwater slid down the edge of the umbrella in strings, dripping onto the wet road and splashing up tiny water droplets.

The sound of footsteps mingled with the sound of rain, making them exceptionally clear.

Didn't go long.

A familiar figure appeared in the rain and mist ahead.

It was Sakura.

She was holding a small pink umbrella, but the canopy was clearly not big enough to keep out the torrential rain.

Despite trying to hold the umbrella over her head, her shoulders and trouser legs were still mostly soaked by the rain, clinging to her body in patches of deep and light rain. Her wet bangs clung to her cheeks, with a few strands still dripping water, making her look somewhat disheveled.

What was even more noticeable was her complexion, which was much paler than usual.

"Ye Hui-kun! Tomoyo! Good morning!" Sakura saw them, forced a smile, and waved, but the smile seemed a little forced, and her voice was lower than usual, as if she couldn't muster the strength.

"Good morning, Sakura." Tomoyo stopped and looked at Sakura, her brows furrowing slightly. Her voice was filled with concern. "You don't look well, and your clothes are wet. Are you feeling unwell? Or are you sick?"

"No, I just felt a little dizzy when I woke up this morning. It's probably because I didn't sleep well. It's nothing." Sakura waved her hand.

Looking at her pale face and the unusual blush on her cheeks, Ye Hui already knew the answer.

Is Sakura running a fever?
"Are you really alright?" Ye Hui took two steps forward, reached out his hand, and wanted to feel the temperature of her forehead to confirm his judgment.

However, before his hand could even touch Sakura's forehead, she instinctively dodged away.

Sakura tilted her head slightly and took a small step back, widening the distance between them.

"I'm really fine! Ye Hui, don't be so nervous!" Xiaoying's voice sounded deliberately cheerful, but her eyes unconsciously drifted away, avoiding eye contact with Ye Hui.

[Kinomoto Sakura's emotional value +12]

Deceiving.

Ye Hui looked at the emotion value notification that popped up on the system panel and sighed silently.

Sakura is such an idiot.

I know magic, so how could the umbrella, even if it's small, make me get wet in the rain?

Your rain and water cards must be furious in the deck right now.
Sakura forced a smile and urged, "Let's hurry, we'll be late if we don't go now."

After saying that, she opened her pink umbrella and walked towards the school first, though her steps seemed a little unsteady.

Ye Hui and Zhi Shi exchanged a glance.

Tomoyo sighed softly.

The two quickly followed.

Throughout the journey, Ye Hui observed Xiaoying discreetly.

Her steps were unsteady, and her body swayed slightly as she walked.

Several times, she almost stepped into a puddle by the roadside.

Sakura really knows how to put on a brave face.

Even though she was burning up with fever and felt dizzy and weak, she still pretended to be perfectly fine.

However, he also understood that she was keeping quiet because she didn't want him and Tomoyo to worry.

If I just keep trying to tough it out, my condition will probably only get worse when I get to school.

How can you just endure physical discomfort?

However, this time Sakura suddenly developed a fever for no apparent reason.
Could it be the plot influencing this?

Speaking of the plot, Ye Hui frowned slightly and began to recall it carefully.

When I arrived at the classroom, most of the students were already there.

Sakura's steps faltered as soon as she stepped across the threshold.

Before even reaching his seat, he slumped onto the table, propping his head up with his arm, not wanting to move at all, not even having the strength to put down his backpack.

When Li Meiling saw Xiaoying like this, she immediately came over and reached out to touch her forehead.

"Oh! It's so hot! You have a fever!" Li Meiling exclaimed, her voice not quiet, instantly attracting the attention of the surrounding classmates.

"Oh? Sakura has a fever? She does look unwell."

"Are you alright? You look like you're in a lot of pain."

"Go to the infirmary right away, you can't tough it out with a fever!"

Chiharu, Naoko, and Rika also gathered around, chattering with concern.

Surrounded by so many people, Sakura's cheeks turned even redder, not because of a fever, but because she was a little embarrassed.

She managed to lift her head, her voice weak: "I...I'm fine...I'm just a little tired, I'll be fine after a rest."

She tried to sit up straight, but her body felt weak and she couldn't muster any strength. She managed to sit up halfway before collapsing back down, her forehead touching the cold tabletop, which slightly relieved her dizziness.

"You still say you're fine! Look how red your face is, and your voice is hoarse!" Li Meiling glared at her, then turned to Li Xiaolang beside her and shouted, "Xiaolang! Go and call Teacher Guanyue over! She has a high fever!"

Li Xiaolang paused for a moment, then nodded, turned around and ran quickly out of the classroom.

Tomoyo walked to Sakura's side and gently bent down.

She reached out and gently pressed the back of her hand against Xiaoying's burning cheek, then touched her forehead, and said with concern, "Xiaoying, you have a high fever. You should take the day off and go home to rest. Your body won't be able to handle it if you force yourself to attend class like this."

Ye Hui stood aside, looking at Xiao Ying, who was lying on the table with her brows furrowed, her face pale but still trying to hold on, and felt a pang of heartache.

He quietly reached out and patted Xiaoying's back, but in reality, he was slowly channeling a wisp of gentle spiritual energy into her body.

He now remembers what that part of the story was about.

Therefore, he did not directly cure her illness using supernatural powers or elixirs.

After all, he remembered that in the original story, Sakura was able to see her mother, Nadeshiko's spirit, precisely because of this illness.

He didn't want Sakura to miss the opportunity to meet her mother because of his interference, so he simply used his spiritual power to clear her blocked meridians, relieve her burning sensation and dizziness, and make her feel a little more comfortable.

"Hmm..." Sakura suddenly felt a cool breeze spread from her back, flowing through her limbs and bones, instantly dispelling the drowsiness in her mind, and the burning sensation in her body also lessened a lot. She was able to easily open her heavy eyelids.

She looked up, somewhat bewildered, and met Ye Hui's gentle gaze.

[Kinomoto Sakura's emotional value +12]

"Are you feeling any better?" Ye Hui asked softly.

"Hmm...it seems...not so bad anymore, and my head isn't as dizzy." Sakura nodded, her voice still weak, but clearer than before. She looked at Ye Hui, her dark green eyes filled with doubt: "Ye Hui-kun, you..."

[Kinomoto Sakura's emotional value +10]

【Daodaiji Chiyo’s Emotion Value +15】

"It's nothing, I just used a little trick to help you lower your fever." Ye Hui withdrew his hand and added, "But you still have a fever. The symptoms have only been temporarily relieved. It's best to listen to Zhi Shi and go home to rest, otherwise your condition will worsen."

at this time.

Footsteps sounded at the classroom door.

Li Xiaolang led Teacher Guanyue in quickly.

Ms. Mizuki was holding a first-aid kit, clearly preparing to give Sakura a simple check-up first.

"Kinomoto-kun, how are you feeling?" Ms. Mizuki walked over quickly, reached out and gently touched Sakura's forehead with the back of her hand. Feeling the temperature which was obviously higher than normal, she frowned slightly. "It's really hot. You have a fever. You need to go to the infirmary first."

"Ms. Mizuki, I'm really fine... I'm just a little dizzy, I'll be fine after resting for a while." Sakura tried to struggle and sit up, but as soon as she moved, she felt dizzy and fell back onto the table.

"Don't be stubborn. Come with me to the infirmary to have your temperature checked and get some medicine." Teacher Guanyue didn't give her a chance to argue and reached out to help her up.

"Teacher, let me take her there." Ye Hui stood up and walked to Xiaoying's side. "You still have class to teach, so I can take care of things here."

Ms. Guanyue glanced at Ye Hui, then at the weak Sakura, and nodded: "Alright, then Ye Hui, please take good care of her. If anything happens, come to me immediately."

"No trouble at all," Ye Hui replied, then carefully placed one of Xiaoying's arms on his shoulder and supported her waist with his other hand.

Sakura's body was burning hot; you could feel the scorching heat even through the fabric of her school uniform. Her body was also limp, almost completely leaning against Ye Hui, her steps unsteady as if she were walking on cotton.

Ye Hui helped Xiao Ying walk slowly toward the infirmary, taking very slow steps, afraid that she might fall.

Tomoyo and Lee Mei-ling also greeted the teacher and followed closely behind.

The two men would occasionally reach out and support Sakura's arm, their faces filled with worry.

Even Li Meiling, who is usually very lively, was much quieter at this moment.

Upon arriving at the infirmary, the school doctor saw a group of people crowding in and quickly put down his work before taking Xiaoying's temperature.

A few minutes later, she looked at the number on the thermometer and shook her head: "Thirty-eight degrees four, that's quite a high fever. Luckily we came in time, otherwise it would have reached thirty-nine degrees."

As she spoke, she took out fever reducers and warm water from the medicine cabinet and handed them to Xiaoying. "Take the medicine first, then lie down and rest on the hospital bed inside. Cover yourself with a blanket and sweat it out; it will help."

"Thank you, teacher." Xiaoying took the medicine, said thank you weakly, and walked to the bedside with Ye Hui's help, slowly lying down.

She looked at the white chandelier on the ceiling and felt a pang of unease.

She only had a fever, but it alarmed her teachers and classmates, and even troubled Ye Hui, Zhi Shi, and Mei Ling to bring her to the infirmary.

I'm so sorry.
Tomoyo moved a chair to sit on the edge of the bed, took a clean towel from the towel rack next to her, soaked it in warm water, wrung it out, and gently placed it on Sakura's forehead.

Her eyes were filled with heartache as she looked at Sakura's pale face and said softly, "Sakura, don't think too much, just get some rest."

"Tomoyo, I'm sorry, I made you worry again." Sakura looked at her and said with some guilt.

"Silly girl, we're best friends, why are you apologizing?" Tomoyo shook her head, gently brushed the stray hairs from Sakura's forehead, and tucked them behind her ear. "Don't think about anything right now, just lie down and rest. You'll be fine once the fever goes down. We'll take care of everything else."

Ye Hui stood aside, watching the two of them.

Sakura's biggest worry right now is probably not her own health.

She is always sensible and hates to cause trouble for others. Right now, she must be thinking about the poster that the group needs to complete today.

Sure enough, it didn't take long before Sakura couldn't help but speak up: "But... we have a group poster to do this afternoon, and I'm in charge of the drawing part... what if I'm not here?"

"Don't worry about the bulletin board. We've already divided the work." Ye Hui interrupted her, walked to the bedside, and looked at her with a smile. "With Zhi Shi and me here, we guarantee we'll make the bulletin board look beautiful. You definitely won't be disappointed."

"Me too!" Li Meiling chimed in, patting her chest confidently. "Although I'm not as good at drawing as you guys, I write very neatly and I'm great at putting up decorations! Don't worry, with all of us working together, we'll definitely make the best wall newspaper in the class!"

“But…” Sakura still hesitated, “Are you sure you don’t need me to go back and help? I’m feeling much better now, maybe I can go back this afternoon…”

"No buts, I don't need your help. If you have the strength to walk, you might as well go home first and get some rest." Ye Hui reached out and gently pinched Xiao Ying's cheek. The skin his fingers touched was still hot, but it had a soft, girlish feel to it.

He joked, "Your most important task right now is to rest well and get your fever down quickly. Otherwise, it would be such a waste if we finished making the bulletin board beautifully, but you were too weak to look at it because of the fever."

Sakura couldn't help but smile, her previously tense brows relaxed a little, and she nodded gently: "Okay, I understand."

[Kinomoto Sakura's emotional value +12]

Not long after, the school doctor came over again to check Xiaoying's temperature and mental state. He listened to her heart and lungs with a stethoscope and confirmed that it was just a common viral fever without any other complications, and then he breathed a sigh of relief.

She turned to Ye Hui and the other two and said, "You guys go back to class. I'll keep an eye on things here. Once she takes her medicine and gets some sleep, her fever should go down a bit."

"Teacher, could we stay here with Sakura a little longer? Just for a little while?" Tomoyo asked softly.

The school doctor looked at her worried expression, then at Sakura who wasn't sleeping soundly, and finally nodded: "Then keep your voices down, don't disturb the other students who are resting, and don't let her catch a cold."

"Thank you, teacher!" The three of them said in very soft voices.

Ye Hui stood by the hospital bed, looking at Xiao Ying's closed eyes and flushed cheeks, and pursed his lips.

Although she knew that this illness was the opportunity for her to meet her mother, Nadeshiko, and an important part of the story.

But seeing her face contorted in pain, her breath hot and dry, he couldn't help but feel a pang of heartache.

He reached out and hovered his hand above Xiaoying's head. A wisp of spiritual energy, gentler than before, slowly flowed into her body, flowing along her meridians, calming her disordered breathing caused by the fever, and gently soothing the unease between her brows.

After doing all this, Sakura's breathing gradually became steady, her brows relaxed a bit, and she slept much more peacefully than before.

“I think we should take Sakura home first,” Ye Hui said, turning to Zhi Shi and Li Meiling. “Home is definitely more comfortable than the infirmary. With family taking care of her, she can rest better and recover faster.”

Tomoyo nodded slightly and took out her phone from her pocket: "Okay, I'll call the driver at home now and have him come over right away and wait for us at the school gate."

Ye Hui walked to the bedside and picked Xiao Ying up from the bed.

He supported her knees with one hand and put his other arm around her back, his spiritual energy covering Sakura's body so that she could hardly feel the discomfort of being lifted.

Instead, Sakura felt a familiar presence in her sleep and unconsciously snuggled closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder with her face scrunched up and making a few muffled murmurs, sounding very uncomfortable.

“Ye Huijun…” Zhi Shi followed beside him.

【Daodaiji Chiyo’s Emotion Value +13】

"Don't worry, I'm holding her very tightly, she won't get cold," Ye Hui reassured her softly.

At this point, Tomoyo had finished her phone call and said that her family's driver would be waiting at the school gate within five minutes.

"I'll get your things!" Li Meiling, with great perceptiveness, picked up Xiaoying's schoolbag and coat that were placed by the bed, and carefully draped the coat over her arm, preparing to put it on Xiaoying when they went out later.

Ye Hui nodded to her, then looked at Zhi Shi: "Let's go, it's almost time."

"Okay." Tomoyo responded and quickly walked forward to open the door to the infirmary for them. "Watch out for the threshold."

The group walked towards the school gate. The rain was still falling outside, pattering against the windows of the corridor with a dull sound.

The corridor was quiet, with only the sound of their footsteps. Occasionally, the sounds of teachers lecturing and students answering questions could be heard from other classes.

Ye Hui carried Xiao Ying with steady, slow steps, each step firm and solid, avoiding any large swaying that might disturb the person in his arms.

Sakura gently rested her head on Ye Hui's shoulder, her breathing even yet hot.

Normally, she's like a little sun, always full of energy.

But now she was curled up in his arms, looking sickly, her cheeks flushed an unnatural red.

This stark contrast is truly unsettling to watch.

[You're holding Kinomoto Sakura, a disciple with a Heavenly Spiritual Root, who's afflicted with a rare poison and hangs by a thread! You're overjoyed! But on the surface, you pretend to be frantic with worry, eager to search the world for rare herbs to concoct an antidote for her!]

System, you're at it again.

This is just a normal fever, how did you turn it into a serious poisoning and a life-threatening situation?

Your description of your condition is even less reliable than the flyers posted outside hospitals.

He didn't say anything, but his feet didn't stop; he continued walking steadily toward the school gate.

Tomoyo walked beside him, holding a black umbrella, with most of the umbrella tilted towards Ye Hui and Sakura in his arms, trying to block the slanting raindrops.

Of course, the umbrella is more of a decoration.

Because she had already scattered them before the rain came.

Not a single raindrop could get near them.

"Ye Hui-kun," Tomoyo said, somewhat worried, "Is Sakura... really alright? Could it be..."

"Don't worry, it's just a common fever. Go home, get some sleep, take some medicine, and you'll be fine soon," Ye Hui reassured him.

He knew, of course, that Sakura was alright, and he even knew what would happen when she got home.

That was a pivotal moment when she met her mother's spirit.

However, there's no need to tell Tomoyo all of this.

Sakura will tell them what she wants to say when the time comes.

【Daodaiji Chiyo’s Emotion Value +8】

Tomoyo nodded, but her brows still didn't completely relax.

Soon, the group arrived at the school gate.

A black sedan was already parked on the side of the road, its body gleaming. It was the Daidoji family's official car, and the driver was standing beside the car, holding an umbrella and waiting.

Just as Ye Hui was about to carry Xiao Ying into the car, a familiar figure walked quickly out of the rain.

It's Touya.

He was holding a black umbrella, wearing a Stars and Stripes High School uniform jacket with the collar slightly open, and carrying no backpack. He must have come directly from school after receiving the news.

His face lacked its usual nonchalant air; instead, it showed undisguised anxiety. He walked quickly, causing rain to splash and wet his trouser legs, but he didn't seem to care.

“Sakura!” Touya walked up to Ye Hui.

"Brother..." Sakura heard a familiar voice in her sleep. She opened her eyes groggily, her dark green eyes filled with tears. She couldn't see the person in front of her clearly, but instinctively moved closer to the direction of the voice.

"Sakura, how are you?" Touya's tone softened instantly.

"I'm fine... just a little sleepy..." Xiaoying's voice was very soft. After saying this, she closed her eyes again, leaned her head on Ye Hui's shoulder, and fell into a deep sleep.

"Touya-nii, what brings you here?" Tomoyo asked, somewhat puzzled, as she looked at Touya who had suddenly appeared.

They hadn't even had a chance to inform Touya, so how would he know that Sakura was sick?

“It was Kagura… Ms. Mizuki who called me.” Touya paused, then explained simply, “She said Sakura had a fever at school and asked me to come over right away and pick her up.”

Oh wow.

Ye Hui almost forgot.

It seems there's some kind of special telepathic connection between Touya and Mizuki?

"I see." Tomoyo nodded without thinking much of it and didn't ask any more questions.

"Give me Sakura." Touya held out his hand to Ye Hui. "I'll take her home."

Ye Hui didn't take the job; instead, he carefully handed Sakura to Touya.

Touya's movements as he caught her were very practiced, and it was clear that this wasn't the first time he had taken care of his sick sister like this.

He picked up Sakura horizontally and took off his uniform jacket, gently wrapping it around her, covering her up completely except for her little head. He even tucked her exposed hands inside the jacket, afraid that she would catch a cold.

"Let's get in the car first. It's raining heavily outside, so Sakura won't get wet." Tomoyo quickly walked to the car door, opened the back door, and used her hand to block the top edge of the door to prevent Touya from bumping into Sakura's head when he bent over.

Touya then carried Sakura, bent down to sit in the car, gently placed her on the seat, and even put his hand behind her neck to make her more comfortable.

Ye Hui and Zhi Shi also got on the bus, while Li Meiling said goodbye to them and returned to school to continue her classes under her umbrella.

Originally, Ye Hui and Zhi Shi were supposed to help with the group poster, but the two of them left without saying a word.

She still needs to go back and explain things to her other classmates.

The car door closed, shutting out the pattering rain outside, and the carriage instantly fell silent.

The driver started the car and drove smoothly towards the Kinomoto family's house.

Touya sat beside Sakura, his head bowed as he looked down at his restless little sister in his arms. His brows were furrowed, and he would occasionally touch her burning cheeks with his fingers. His gaze was full of worry, and even the corners of his mouth, which usually held a hint of playfulness, were now pressed into a straight line.

The car quickly arrived at the Kinomoto residence.

The rain had lessened considerably, turning from a downpour into a light drizzle, with fine raindrops floating in the air like a thin mist.

Ye Hui got out of the car first, opened his blue umbrella, and walked to the car door to wait.

Touya carefully carried Sakura down from the car.

Ye Hui immediately tilted most of the umbrella toward them.

Touya glanced at him, his lips moved, but he didn't say anything in the end. He just tightened his grip on Sakura's arms.

【Kinomoto Touya’s Emotion Value +13】

He strode quickly into the house, his footsteps slow and soft, so as not to wake Sakura in his arms.

Tomoyo got out of the car and said to the driver, "You go back first, I'll call you later to arrange your return trip."

"Yes, Miss." The driver replied respectfully and drove away.

Ye Hui and Zhi Shi followed them into the Kinomoto family home.

As soon as they entered the house, Touya carried Sakura straight upstairs to her room.

He gently pushed open the door to Xiaoying's room, placed her on the soft bed, and carefully covered her with the blanket, tucking the corners in to make sure her hands and feet were covered.

"I'll go cook some porridge for Sakura; she'll probably be hungry now that she's awake," Touya said, turning to go downstairs.

As he reached the door, he suddenly turned around and glared at Ye Hui with a warning look.

Touya: You better behave yourself and don't even think about doing anything to my sister!

Ye Hui blinked innocently.

I would never take advantage of someone in distress!
Am I that kind of person?

After Touya went downstairs, only Ye Hui, Tomoyo, and Sakura, who was lying unconscious on the bed, remained in the room.

Oh, right, and there's that mascot on the desk, forced to play dead.

It had been cowering and not daring to make a sound ever since Touya came in.

Tomoyo walked to the bedside and sat down. She took a wet towel from the basin next to her, wrung out the excess water, and then gently placed it on Sakura's forehead.

Ye Hui stood aside watching, his heart softening.

Tomoyo-chan is so gentle~
He walked over to Sakura's schoolbag and casually draped his coat over the desk, blocking the drawer.

That was the spot where Xiao Ke secretly peeked out to observe the situation.

So, Xiao Ke, who had just peeked out with half her head, was instantly pushed back down by the coat.

Xiao Ke: !!!

Ye Hui's lips curved into a smile.

Xiao Ke struggled inside the clothes for a while, but found that she couldn't push away the coat pressing on top of her at all, so she could only give up resisting and cursed Ye Hui a hundred times in her heart.

That wretched brat! It was definitely him, and it was certainly on purpose!

However, it dares not make a sound now, for fear that Touya downstairs will hear it.

This also meant that it could only huddle in the corner of the clothes, trying to minimize its presence and continue to play the role of a proper plush toy.

The room was quiet. Neither Ye Hui nor Zhi Shi spoke. Only the sound of light rain outside the window could be heard.

After the towel cooled down, Tomoyo replaced it with a new, damp towel and gently placed it on Sakura's forehead.

Tomoyo gazed at Sakura's flushed face, her brows furrowing slightly, her purple eyes filled with heartache.

She reached out and touched Sakura's head; it was still hot.
