Chapter 6 Angels and Demons
Chapter 6 Angels and Demons
In front of the church, under a sky that had already turned completely black.
The enormous sky cross stood out against the dark clouds, yet the white light it emitted warmed the hearts of every believer.
The light swept across everyone's body, causing them to open their eyes in surprise.
Except for a crow sleeping at the church entrance—which suddenly spread its wings and let out a piercing scream!
"Impossible! This is impossible! The world is so filthy and indifferent, how could you possibly exist!"
The cawing of crows rang in everyone's ears, as loud and clear as a great bell!
The sound stunned them, leaving them dazed and confused, and filled everyone with fear as they stared at the crow, which was quite common in the town of Vespuchi!
The crow glanced at the cross in the sky, then at Father Angus in the center of the crowd, and suddenly understood something.
So it flapped its wings and flew toward Angus!
This tiny animal, in the instant it flew in, seemed to carry immense force, appearing before the crowd with a terrifying sense of oppression!
A tiny crow actually flew out of the wind pressure, even bending the trees on both sides of the road!
"In the name of Almighty God, we command you unclean spirits: depart!" Fortunately, Father Angus withstood the pressure and uttered his hymn in front of this terrible raven!
These were originally just platitudes used during the ritual, but at this moment, they unleashed a terrifying power!
A brilliant white light burst forth from his body, illuminating the crow's face and causing it to let out a shrill, mournful cry!
"Squeak!" The crow dissolved in the light, and terrifying black energy spread from its body, reaching the entire sky in just a few dozen seconds.
The next second, the black mist began to shrink and transformed into a huge and terrifying monster in front of everyone!
【Monster Portrait】
This enormous monster resembled an enlarged raven, flapping its wings, but with a human face on its head!
"How rare! In this world where miracles are no longer possible and faith is lacking, there is actually a devout monk!" The monster uttered a series of admiring clicks.
Upon hearing this, Father Angus mustered his courage and stepped forward, saying to the demon, "This place does not belong to you, evil spirit!"
"An evil spirit? Hahahaha!" The monster let out a sharp, maniacal laugh, so loud it shattered the church's glass windows.
"I'm an evil spirit? Even those guys from the Inquisition wouldn't dare call me an evil spirit!" he shouted, looking at Angus with a knowing expression.
"Ah, I understand! There are no more priests left in the human world, so there will be no more special teachings about us!" He flapped his wings in the air, as if sensing something. "Ah, there are still some remnants of rumors left!"
The monster flew through the air, its image and imposing presence so great that most people couldn't even lift their bodies, and could only bend over and look up at it.
“Two thousand years ago, a man named Solomon called my name!” he exclaimed. “They called me Raum!”
This is certainly not his real name, so he speaks of it quite recklessly!
However, beside Father Angus, Inspector Franz keenly sensed that the priest beside him was suddenly trembling!
“Father, do you know his identity?” Franz asked quickly.
Angus nodded and said in a heavy voice, "Lamer is one of the seventy-two demons of Solomon. If I remember correctly, he is the fortieth demon!"
Upon hearing this, everyone who heard it gasped in shock!
They may not be smart, they may be ignorant, but they are all believers and have all heard of those legendary demons and gods!
In legends, demons are equal to angels; in a sense, they are true gods!
And now, this kind of deity has appeared before them, and it is clearly up to no good!
Seeing the fear in these people, Lamer was clearly satisfied, but he had no intention of making a move.
The demon circled the crowd twice, trying to fly down several times, but he stopped himself each time!
This peculiar behavior left everyone completely bewildered. What was this demon doing? Was he merely proclaiming his existence to the crowd? This was not the demon's personality described in "The Key of Solomon"; he seemed to be bound by something.
Fortunately, the demon god did not last long. After a period of silence, he flapped his wings!
Suddenly, a terrifying hurricane appeared in the sky, stirring up a frenzy on the ground before flying directly toward the giant cross in the sky.
Just as the hurricane was about to reach the cross, a pale hand reached out from the cross, and with a simple gesture, it neutralized the hurricane.
Then, in the eyes of a demon god and more than four hundred townspeople, the sky cross suddenly shrank, becoming a cross-shaped sword in his hand.
In the pitch-black sky, the cross-shaped sword drew a gap that was almost a cross, allowing its owner to pull himself out through the gap.
The black sky, the white cross, and the pale arms were all exposed to the people, but what was finally revealed was the bright yellow flames that ignited, the gray robes that flowed out from them, and the sky-blue wings that unfolded in the gaps!
This special being seemed to have half of its body emerging from the light!
But this is the final chapter.
The hand ultimately did not pull the body out; it only pulled it to this extent before withdrawing it again.
Only the cross-shaped sword remained, still hovering in the air.
"Lamer, return to your place!" The ancient and solemn words seemed to transform into chains of runes, falling directly from the sky and locking the body of the demon god Lamer.
The raven demon didn't even have the thought of resisting; it was simply bound.
"Tsk... You're still so boring after all these years!" Lamer said, and then his body was pulled into the cross-shaped gap along with the chains.
Subsequently, the cross-shaped sword was also absorbed by the gap, which then transformed into the bright sky cross from before, flying towards everyone.
By the time it flew to them, the cross had become very small, just matching the cross on Father Angus's chest.
At this moment, the dark clouds in the sky slowly dispersed, and the town was calm and peaceful, as if nothing had happened!
It was at this moment that Franz realized something was wrong with Angus!
He noticed that Father Angus's body was trembling even while kneeling.
His shaking became even more violent, requiring Franz, Hank, and two other strong men to hold him down.
“Angus! Calm down!” Franz shouted. Hearing this, Father Angus, who had been trembling, seemed to regain some composure.
He knelt on the ground, facing the direction of the cross in the sky, and prayed incessantly!
"To cleanse sins with the most holy blood of Christ;
Conquer the power of death through the eternal light.
All glory belongs to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
From this day forth, forever and ever. Amen.
His faith seemed to be completely activated at this moment, and that confident power could shine into everyone's eyes!
Father Angus then regained his composure, looked at the crowd before him, and said softly, "Do you know who He is?"
His eyes seemed to radiate endless brilliance!
