Chapter 343 The Demon is Beheaded, Flowers Bloom in the Human World
If the initial descent of the demons and that battle, which seemed to offer almost no hope, were a warning from hell to the world.
Now, with the arrival of Joan of Arc and the end of this battle, the whole world has witnessed the immense power behind the Papacy.
Many people are pondering whether to strengthen their faith, whether to turn themselves into a second Italy. The faith belonging to the Papacy is almost constantly evolving, pushing forward in various ways to make this special flame burn even more intensely!
However, neither Mario, who was far away in Rome, nor Angus, who was on a plane, nor Caroline, who had already composed herself and was inspecting the scene, showed any joy.
“John, are they... all dead?” Caroline asked, her voice trembling. She could see that a third of the priestly community was now gone!
John nodded. "Your Excellency, yes, they... have all returned to the Lord's embrace!"
Caroline felt a little dizzy. "Eleven people...eleven people! Eleven devout priests, plus the more than ten thousand black prisoners who have died, and the bloody disaster they have caused in the city..."
"The exact number isn't clear yet, but it shouldn't be less than 100,000 casualties!" The sheriff approached Caroline and said softly, "Your Highness, please accept my condolences. You have done everything you could!"
Anyone with a normal IQ knows that this is not Caroline's problem, but a crisis brought about by those monsters.
However, what Caroline actually saw was not these things, but the people in front of her with their eyes darting away.
This is the group of people who just chose to abandon their faith under the threat of vampires, and now, amidst the cheers of so many believers, they stand out even more.
A man suddenly knelt down and shouted at the saintess, "I'm sorry, Your Highness, I just want to live! I still believe in the Lord! Can you let me return?"
They certainly knew they were just live-streaming, so they knew the consequences of publicly breaking their promise, and now, he wanted to come back.
How can there be such a good thing?
Caroline shook her head. "The Lord doesn't concern himself with the affairs of his followers. He only bears your sins. And now, you no longer belong to the Lord, so you don't need to apologize to me!"
Hearing this, the man's face turned ashen, and he cried out in despair, "Can't you have any sympathy for those of us who want to live?"
Upon hearing this, George suddenly stood up. "If we show leniency to you, wouldn't that be unfair to the many more believers?"
"The Lord will forgive every believer, but if you no longer believe in the Lord, how can the Lord forgive you?"
Upon hearing this, all the traitors truly turned ashen-faced.
No religious sect would welcome such a treacherous person, especially since they were fighting for the lives of these people. Yet, these foolish fellows, at the most critical moment, did not hesitate to stab the saint twice.
If the saintess hadn't withstood this pressure and had collapsed, would Joan of Arc have even come into being? Would they have achieved their current victory?
If we really fail, this entire city will become the price of our demise!
These people only see it as a trivial "betrayal," but hidden behind this indifference is the deepest scheming of those devils!
If they really lose, can these traitors really live?
Don't even think about it. Demons have no credibility. Their words are full of traps. All they need is a "He promises not to kill you, what does that have to do with me?" to send these people back to hell.
Therefore, these people must be severely punished.
Just as they were arguing about this, Joan of Arc returned, riding a winged horse, descending from the sky to Caroline's side.
"Those more than ten thousand people are beyond saving. I'm sending them to hell!" Joan of Arc's words silenced everyone. As expected of the Saintess of War, her words were truly fierce.
More than 10,000 extraordinary monsters can be killed without making people feel uncomfortable.
"Your Majesty, what should we do with the two of them?" Caroline asked.
At this moment, the demon named Remus and the vampire named Vlad III were still pinned to the ground by two spears, unable to break free!
“Provoking the Papacy deserves a trial!” Joan of Arc looked at George beside her. “Has the Inquisition been established?”
"It's established! I am now the Chief Inquisitor of the Inquisition, and I can pronounce judgment now!" George declared directly, gazing at the two great demons before him, and began his pronouncement! "Supreme, Almighty Heavenly Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth!"
We come before Your throne, relying on the precious blood, holy name, and victorious authority of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Your light will fill the entire space, bringing down the final judgment upon the demons!
As soon as these words were spoken, a holy light seemed to descend upon the entire space, and the two great demons before them revealed expressions of pain!
It was a pain that seemed to come from the soul. Although they had not been attacked from the outside, they still seemed to be in endless agony. But even in such pain, the two monsters did not give in.
Even though their underlings had all turned to corpses and lay in the middle of the street, and even though they had no chance of winning, they did not surrender.
Remus's demon horns were slowly melting away, and his body was being dissolved under a special kind of judgment, yet he was still laughing. "Hell is calling me, you human beings... I will return. Lord Baphomet will not give up, and this place will eventually become our territory!"
Hearing this, Leon seemed somewhat regretful, "It's a pity... that man who was once furious for the survival of veterans has now become a complete lackey of hell!"
He remembered that when the man was in the New York prison, he still had a basic sense of justice and values; he only chose to kill the warden and not the others.
But now, in the long confrontation with the other party, he has discovered the other party's depravity.
From killing only scum, to killing everyone related to the military, and now including all of humanity, he watched helplessly as his former adversary transformed into the great demon he is today.
“This is hell. There’s never anything that can be done according to one’s own heart. Once you become a demon, all that’s left is malice!” George said.
They watched as Remus, the great demon, slowly melted away under this peculiar judgment.
This was a trap they set; since they failed, they must die!
But Vlad III didn't see it that way. He looked at the newly crowned demon beside him, his face full of mockery. "Young demons are so impatient. I am the Grand Duke of Wallachia. I will not die! Even Lincoln couldn't kill me. Do you think you can? Joan of Arc?"
Upon hearing this, Joan of Arc shook her head. "You are a product of the curse. You are immortal until Lilith is killed—but, you are a blasphemous demon who must be punished. Therefore, you will be sent to the edge of the world to suffer endless torment in the cold!"
As she spoke, she pulled the vampire out along with the spear, and then hurled it fiercely into the sky!
"Damn it... what do you want to do?" Vlad III was shocked and tried to struggle, but found that he couldn't even move and could only be thrown out.
"Bang!" A huge sonic boom flashed, and the spear exceeded the first cosmic velocity, leaving Earth directly.
"Your Excellency, Joan of Arc sent this vampire into space!" Inside the White House, the satellite captured this scene, leaving everyone in awe.
"Is this what a truly powerful superhuman is? Can someone be this strong? Can they send someone into space with their own power?" Baron muttered to himself.
"Alright, this matter is over. I need to return to heaven!" Joan of Arc said to the people before her, remounted her horse, and flew into the sky. "Do not mourn for the dead, for they are waiting for the Lord's visit on the steps of heaven..."
Just then, a woman holding a child suddenly looked up at the sky with her child. She had originally intended to flee, but happened to be passing by. In her arms, the little girl pointed to the sky and shouted, "Mommy, look! So many uncles in white are spreading a red carpet in the clouds..."
Everyone turned their heads at the same time, looking up at the sky, as if they could see the sacrificed priests smiling at them from the sky!
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,” Caroline said softly. She looked at the spot where Joan of Arc had left, where a golden iris was slowly growing, and within the flower, one could almost see the saint’s smiling face.
"If I am not yet under God's glory, I hope God will grant it to me; if I am already in it, I hope God will still grant it to me," Joan of Arc's voice rang out. "May this glory be shared with everyone in suffering!"
Upon hearing these words, all the believers knelt on the ground and whispered prayers: "May you be with the Lord, with hope..."
The crisis was over, but Saint Caroline's journey had only just begun...
P.S.: So much to do during the National Day holiday! It's still raining outside, *crying*. Three chapters left, I'll write them slowly, I'll definitely finish them!
