From the God of Lies to the Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 239 Furthermore, distinguishing between good and evil is the basis for salvation.

Chapter 239 Furthermore, distinguishing between good and evil is the basis for salvation.

This is perhaps the most magical part: the misplacement of identities, the intertwining of reality and virtuality, and the emergence of power have given this bloody and terrifying Lion Camel Ridge a touch of normalcy.

It has nothing to do with good or evil, right or wrong, but is simply the most primal law of the jungle, the most basic life-or-death struggle.

Even a showdown like this is much more cheerful than the dreadful gloom that hangs over Calcutta.

It must be said that this is also a silent form of mockery.

The Journey to the West describes the foot of Mount Ling, but this city is the real foot of Mount Ling!
If we're talking about cruelty and terror, the three demons of Lion Camel Ridge would have to bow down to the Brahmins. They know nothing about terror and rule; in front of the real Brahmin lords, they're as innocent as children.

They couldn't think of anything about murder and selling the body, nor could they think of anything that would be over and have Dalit take the blame.

I can't even imagine what Dalit's original sin is, which can be used to convict him at any time!
As killings began, the desires and aspirations that should have belonged to Hinduism were continuously consumed in the constant death.

This is the significance of Bai Yang creating this special dream: to shatter class distinctions and cleanse the soul.

Just then, the monk in white robes, still bald, appeared beside them. Then, he turned around and transformed into Wutian, who had black hair and wore black clothes.

"Buddha Wutian, I wonder what your feelings are after witnessing this scene?" Bai Yang asked with a smile.

"The beings of Lion Camel Mountain are not as evil as those in the human world!" Wutian said silently, his mood no longer as bright as before. "Shakyamuni... he really did preach in a place like this..."

If the previous Wutian was Kinnara, the "Mara" who chose the most ruthless resistance because of the Buddha's unjust harm, then now he seems to have some deeper feelings about the human world.

Perhaps this is the meaning of spiritual practice; perhaps this is the path to enlightenment he has been searching for!
"This humble monk... has cultivated for countless eons, yet seeing this scene, I am still like a frog at the bottom of a well!" Wutian said silently. "The sins I have encountered are not as great as those here, and the evils I have encountered are even less than those here!"

"Countless sins and countless evils, which originally gave rise to boundless compassion, have only resulted in countless calamities!"

"The Buddha's path is wrong, and my path may also be wrong! Destruction cannot bring about any new world, but only more wanton slaughter!"

"Perhaps I shouldn't practice Nirvana, but rather Zen! Buddhism practices Nirvana, while Zen cultivates the original mind; perhaps this can bring me some liberation!"

Wutian's words were no longer as tyrannical as before, but rather carried his own thoughts.

During this period of cultivation, Wutian clearly gained more insights and understanding, and thus gained more considerations. Perhaps at this point, he was more like a "Buddha" than the villain in the original story.

Thinking about problems from a Buddhist perspective makes him appear more mature and more silent.

Upon hearing this, Bai Yang burst into laughter, "Hahaha! If Bodhidharma heard this, he might be very pleased!"

Then he continued, "So, the choice of who is truly benevolent here is up to you? And I will give you a genuine reason for salvation that I can give the whole world a satisfactory explanation!"

"Thank you!" Wutian clasped his hands together, bowed to Bai Yang, and then turned around, transforming back into the white-robed monk.

The story of Muten has taken a new turn, but the path of Shinra is far from over!

And so, in this vast and treacherous region of Lion Camel Ridge, a monk dressed in white robes slowly walked into it.

This time, however, he wasn't there to suffer or save people, but to "select" people.

If I said one-third, then that's one-third; no more, no less.

This time, Jinra's method of selecting people is still very simple: follow good!
Even in Lion Camel Ridge, there are benevolent demons and malicious people. In this pure dog-eat-dog world, the line between good and evil becomes clear due to its extreme consequences.

After all, this kindness is pure goodness, and pure goodness is not something a demon can survive.

They would choose self-exile because they couldn't bear to hurt or eat people, and surprisingly, there were quite a few such people in the eyes of the true Arhats!
"Phew... It seems I still have some prejudice against this city!" Shinra said with some surprise.

Because in his eyes, he could see that even as fifteen million demons and human flesh were constantly dying and being reborn, there were still some people who went into the mountains, went out, and went to places where they could not fight.

These people are numerous, perhaps even making up one-tenth of the total population.

In other words, it's not that there's no kindness and compassion left in this city; it's just that in their eyes, the overwhelming malice has overshadowed this kindness.

But how could humans be without kindness? Even man-eating beasts, monsters of the mountains and fields, and those so-called "death spokespeople," those cruel and inhuman creatures, all possess a capacity for goodness.

Because evil is human nature, and so is good.

Evil is the unbridled and unrestrained indulgence of human nature, while goodness is the flow and existence of the essence of human nature. Without goodwill, there would be no human existence.

This is a unique proposition that can never be deconstructed, and it's also a statement that made Shinra feel somewhat emotional for a moment.

When exactly did he begin to ponder this particular question? It seems it started when Dalit, who couldn't even feed himself, placed his food against his chest.

Yet it also seemed like what he saw when he entered the city from the outside and observed it.

Jinra couldn't tell the difference. The complex interpersonal relationships, the kind of kindness that transcended all the ugliness of the world, and the kind of kindness that transcended the essence of humanity, were all clearly visible in this country, right before his eyes!
"Amitabha!" he chanted, his gaze gradually hardening. "This world must be changed! The sins are deep, but the punishment is not severe enough! Stubbornness is a lack of resolute enforcement!"

"But from today onwards, everything will be different! I will turn this world around, bit by bit! My Buddhist teachings are also Buddha! My Buddhist kingdom is also Buddha!"

This is a scene of a Bodhisattva transforming into a true Buddha, and it also marks the true fusion of the Buddha Wutian and the Bodhisattva Kinnara!

And now, he's going to decide life and death!
So the monk walking on the road struck his wooden fish again!

"Boom!"

When the first sound of the wooden fish was heard, the demons who were cooking people and boiling meat were suddenly bewildered. Then they slowly got up and appeared on the road, following behind him.

The wooden fish of Zhenluo seems to be a special judgment in this grand scene, or a special note appearing in this purgatory.

In short, it seemed that everyone heard the sound of the wooden fish, and all the demons and monsters stopped what they were doing in this scene.

"Boom!"

The wooden fish struck again, and Zhenluo, leading the demons and monsters behind him, walked forward step by step through the mountain of flesh, the sea of bones, and the pile of corpses.

Those who were spared because of this action were also stunned by the scene. Many of them walked towards Jinra and became part of the army.

Only those who have no other thoughts, no other desires, and no regard for their own existence are spared.

With a mixture of faith and fear, they watched the monk together, and noticed that he had begun chanting scriptures:
"Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness are also like this."

"All dharmas are empty in nature, neither arising nor ceasing, neither defiled nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing."

“Shariputra, all sentient beings who hear this should make a vow to be reborn in that land.”

"If any virtuous man or woman hears of Amitabha Buddha and holds fast to his name... they will be reborn in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha."

The demons behind him followed him, chanting scriptures as they walked.

These scriptures flow like a clear spring, washing away the dust of the heart. When reciting them, the mind naturally calms down, focusing on the wisdom of emptiness in the scriptures, and letting go of attachment to all things in the world.

This is salvation!

"Boom!"

The wooden fish struck again, but the surrounding noise had disappeared, leaving only the sound of the wooden fish.

The white-robed monk, leading the monsters and people behind him, walked forward through the vast Lion Camel Ridge, a mountain range stretching eight hundred miles. The forests howled, the wind blew, and yet the sound of chanting arose.
Golden light emerged, imprinting a Buddhist mark on these people's bodies and souls, thus achieving a thorough transformation from body to soul!

The wind was biting, the golden light shone, yet the cold was endless!
“If one day you have a kind thought or feel compassion, that will be the time when the seal breaks!” Zhenlu said.

This is certainly not his compassion, but comes from the "Soul-Suppressing Verse of the Ksitigarbha Temple". These are the words of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and also the final punishment he designed for this group of demons and monsters!
Do you really think that salvation is the end? Even after going to hell, there will still be hellish judgments, judging good and evil, just like before!
"Boom!"

The sound of the wooden fish drum still echoes.
