From the God of Lies to the Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 197 Awakening Under the Bat Wings

Chapter 197 Awakening Under the Bat Wings
“This is something my grandfather gave me. He said it’s a family heirloom, just like the hidden blade and dagger in my hand, it’s all part of our Martin family!”

Gabriel said, bewildered.

He didn't know why the priest seemed so curious about certain things passed down in his family, but he didn't seem to be hiding anything from him.

Just as he said, being all alone, he had long since become indifferent to these things.

Until, under the light of the other's palm, the blackness on the stone began to melt away little by little, disintegrating and revealing what it contained before the two of them!
It was a similar badge with silver patterns and black lettering, and the word "Judge" written in Hebrew!
"Phew..." Leon let out a long breath. He had recently discussed the structure of the "Brotherhood" with Pope Mario.

According to Pope Mario, the members of the Catholic Church's secret service at the time had all joined the Brotherhood.

Among them were the Inquisition, the Knights Templar, the Council of the Holy See, the Inquisition, and the most secretive Ark of the Covenant Project!

And this badge before him, if he wasn't mistaken...

"Buzz!" The sudden buzzing sound made the knight turn his head to look at the gate, and his evil premonition made him discover something special.

Lyon then handed the badge back to Gabriel and said, "Now, get out of here, Mr. Assassin! I know everything about you. People from the Vatican will be coming for you in the future!"

"Do not be afraid or terrified. The Lord is watching you. If you truly have no evil heart, even if you have killed so many people, you will still go to heaven!"

Upon hearing the other person's words, Gabriel realized he could suddenly move and couldn't help but say, "So, you know about our family's origins, right?"

"Yes, it's a very long story. You said you had a dream when you were a child, and I think the answer might be hidden in your dream!"

Leon smiled, his body already radiating light: "If you can, go out. Take everyone you can see and leave this place. Enemies are coming!"

While Gabriel was still in a daze, he saw the "priest" actually pull a golden spear of light out of the light, open the church door in front of him, and walk out.

In Gabriel's memory, he seemed to have seen something similar before, but where exactly did he see it?
He slowly fell into deep thought, touching the badge in his hand and looking at the word "Referee" on it, as if he had returned to his childhood, to the era he often dreamed of.

At that time, it was still the Golden Age of France. The people of Avignon were still wandering between the countryside and the city, without so much pressure in life or so much petty scheming. They had only happy childhoods and happy families.

It was during this time that he learned the so-called "way of the assassin" from his grandfather, Gurest Martin.

Grandpa always said that their family used to be very glorious, a large family, a prominent family in the Middle East.

Unfortunately, by his generation, only a few descendants remained, ancient rumors had vanished without a trace, and an old man who only knew how to use a sword.

These were his grandfather's exact words, but it was because of these words that Gabriel diligently studied this technique for fifteen years, and then, for the sake of justice in his heart, sent his entire family to the guillotine.

He had even prepared to sever ties with so-called "justice" and "kindness," only to find that his own kindness had saved his life once again.

This extraordinary priest seemed to have seen his kindness, so he let him go.

Now, he can leave.

That's what Gabriel thought, but his actions were quite the opposite. Instead of leaving, he poked his head out of the doorway!
……

"Monster!"

"Run!"

"Help!"

Various calls and shouts reached Lyon's ears, causing him to frown.

The voices were so loud that they even affected some of his judgments, but he had no choice but to step forward and calm them down.

"Quiet, ladies and gentlemen, leave here quickly, guided by the priests and nuns!" he shouted, and the light that shone down calmed many people.

As a knight, a believer in the Lord, and the temporary priest of this church, this was his responsibility.

As he appeared, the scene in the square naturally came into his view, and he learned what had just happened, including the noise and commotion!

Three pale-skinned "monsters," devoid of even a trace of blood, were attacking those around them with their hands and feet. These three humanoid monsters had long, incredibly sharp fingernails; in a single exchange, they slashed five terrifying cracks across the wall beside them!

This scene instantly terrified the residents of the area, who wanted to flee.

At that moment, the church security guards drew their guns, pointed them at the monsters, and shouted, "Don't go any further! If you go any further, we'll shoot!"

They received no reply whatsoever, only even more terrifying roars!
As security guards in Sicily, they naturally didn't hesitate at all, so they fired all three pistols at the same time, shooting bloody gashes into the three monsters!
However, these bloody mouths did not stop the three monsters from advancing. Instead, they drove the monsters even crazier, tearing their own clothes and rushing toward the three security guards!

This fearless display of courage immediately filled the three security guards with immense fear. They emptied their magazines but were unable to stop the other party's advance. They could only watch as the other party continued to advance step by step, threatening them. It was truly terrifying.

But soon, Lyon's voice came, "Go and disperse the crowd. These three are just blood servants. There are others behind them!"

The man said softly, his words carrying an undeniable certainty, "These guys are after me!"

He stood in front of the security guards, blocking many people's desire to look back.

Lyon wasn't surprised. He had discovered traces of vampires at the site of the Pope's attack, and he knew without a doubt that these people would come looking for him.

Looking at the crowd around him, Leon narrowed his eyes. He still felt a little puzzled. Why did these people think that he would definitely be able to stay here instead of leaving first?
He could easily shelter people and evacuate them, then leave this place. Do they think they can lock themselves here?

Just as he was thinking this, a deep malice suddenly burst forth from the house next door, locking onto him and the panicked crowd around him!
Now Lyon understood.

He couldn't help but grind his teeth, feeling that these dark creatures deserved to die!

The other party was clearly telling him that if he wanted to leave, these believers would be targeted and killed even if they left, which was something that Leon, as a paladin, could not accept.

Those dark creatures are truly depraved!

"Come out!" Leon said, raising his hand and shooting out a spear of light that pierced through the three monsters in front of him, pinning them to the ground.

He had dealt with these so-called "blood servants" in New York and Illinois. In fact, they were not human, but a group of monsters that had been drained of their blood and then revived by vampires using dark magic!

Because these monsters have no blood of their own, they crave human blood, which they then store in their bodies before being extracted by vampires one by one.

This is the tool they use to draw blood and herd humans!

As the light spear appeared, the crowd that had been fleeing for their lives slowed down.

What did they see? The new priest of this church was actually a "superhuman"?
"Hehehe! As expected of a rare knight, he actually has such combat power!" A strange voice rang out from the side.

Then a bat-like shadow descended from the sky and appeared before everyone, transforming into an elegant, pale nobleman.

He extended his hand, with its distinct knuckles and long, thin nails, and pointed it at Lyon. "Seven hundred years ago, I killed a paladin in Sicily, ending the history of the Knights Templar... Now, if I kill you, can I end the existence of knights in this world?"

Leon scoffed, "I've killed arrogant dark monsters like you before! Even demons don't dare speak to me like that, so what makes you think you can?"

If a disagreement arises, it's bound to end in a head-on clash!
The vampire in front of him suddenly turned into a cloud of blood mist and rushed towards Leon. Leon also produced a large shield that seemed to be made of light in his hand and blocked it in front of him. The light on his body became intense in an instant!

"God said, all darkness will be exposed under the light!"

Inside the room, as the battle unfolded before him, with light and blood dancing together, Gabriel, who had been merely watching, suddenly frowned.

Before his eyes, a blurry scene gradually appeared, like a revolving lantern!

An ancient language also appeared before him:
"When others blindly pursue truth and reality, remember—all is vanity."

When others are bound by laws and morals, remember—everything is permissible.

We are the Inquisition, we punish evil!
We are the Court of Heresy, we judge blasphemers!
We are heretics, we kill every fallen one!
Working in darkness, yet serving the light, we are assassins, judges, and above all, followers of the light!

P.S.: I started designing this plot from chapter 59, and now it's almost chapter 200, and I've finally finished writing it!
Haha, I made this plate of dumplings just for this dish of vinegar!
Who says assassins can't be Templars? (laughs)
