Chapter 19 Exorcism Ritual
Ken Burke is in a great mood today; there's no way he could be in a bad mood!
Yesterday, he went with the cardinal from Los Angeles to Vespud, a town in San Diego County.

Go see Father Angus, and that "feather" that requires the attention of church "professionals."

Ken Burke didn't believe it when he received the so-called "miracle" notification.

Having lived in the church for so many years, he had seen all sorts of strange and unusual things, but few of them were true.

Most of them are ambitious people who concoct things for their own benefit—like himself.

But before they reached the town of Vespuch, these clergy members were located by the local FBI and taken to a secret room in San Diego.

Ken Burke was initially thinking that if his actions had been discovered, he could confess! As long as the IRS wasn't called, everything was negotiable.

As a result, behind this group of people appeared another group of people who, in their view, also belonged to "high-ranking officials," and showed them a document marked "top secret."

Here, they were like a group of puppets being manipulated, staring wide-eyed at the data in the documents the whole time.

Whether it's the luminous priest, the powerful bird-man monster, or Rammer, one of the seventy-two demon gods mentioned by Angus and the townspeople, or Raziel, the king of the cherubim...

All of this was driving Ken Burke a little crazy!

He was a bishop, and having studied the classics for so many years, he certainly knew what this matter meant!
He and the clergy present looked at each other, all feeling that their values, accumulated over so many years, had been shattered!

Now they are wondering whether the American church headquarters is hiding something from them, or whether the Roman Catholic Church is hiding something from them.

How come people in such high positions of power don't know about this?

Therefore, during halftime, he met with the cardinal from Los Angeles.

The two people looked at each other in the restroom. Great, they were both clueless, so they had a basis for communication.

They had a very smooth exchange, based on the premise that "even if they don't know, they should still take the credit for themselves."

In their subsequent conversation, the two managed to put on a perfect performance, convincing the officials that the matter was inextricably linked to their two "superiors."

It was precisely because of this misconception that, in subsequent interactions, those top California bureaucrats showed him considerable respect.

Previous government officials did not think the Vatican was of any use; it was merely a routine matter.

Now, they all attach absolute respect to the "extraordinary".

This pleased Ken Burke for a long time and fueled his even greater desire for the "extraordinary" and the "mysterious"!
Guided by Angus, Ken, who had seen the "feather," naturally had more ideas of his own.

Even a small-town priest like Angus was able to receive the Lord's grace and become a true "monk," so why couldn't he?
He is a regional bishop, a man with real power within the Papacy.

Just as Ken Burke was thinking this and preparing to discuss his "promotion" with Father Angus, he discovered that Cardinal Jared Bryan from the American West had already posted an invitation!
"Damn it!" Ken Burke felt a surge of anger. How could someone steal it?
Of course, he dared not show any impatience in front of his superiors, and could only smile and watch them get into one car while he got into another.

They are now in a car, under the protection of a group of police officers and detectives, heading to the San Diego Garden Church.

According to Angus, he needs to give a report here.

He was a very traditional priest, and he did everything step by step.

Out of respect for him, neither the police nor the cardinal objected to his statement. In fact, after this information was released, both sides' leadership expressed great restraint and were willing to grant Father Angus a high degree of freedom.

However, when these people reached the vicinity of San Diego, the city's mayor and police chief, upon receiving a phone call, temporarily left via another route.

Ken Burke's orders changed to first settle Father Angus and wait for their return.

Given the overwhelming force of the situation, Ken Burke naturally had no reason to object.

However, after being suppressed for so long, he was indeed feeling unwell, so the bishop decided to vent his frustrations in front of the Garden Church.

“Your Honorable Cardinal Brian, Father Bennett (that’s the proper way to address him, but the townspeople call him Father Angus without any problem), I still need to help a poor child with an exorcism, so…”

Upon hearing this, Angus nodded and said, "Of course, the lives of believers are more important. You should go first!"

Cardinal Jared, of course, did not believe Ken Burke's reasoning, but Angus had already said that he had no need to be the villain.

“Bishop Burke, you’d better hurry back!” He stared at the other man, using his eyes to signal him to go quickly and return without causing trouble!
Ken Burke hurriedly got into the car and headed toward his destination.

As the bishop of the church in San Diego, the second largest city in California and the eighth largest city in the United States, he certainly had many places to go.

For example, there's a villa not far from here; that's his house.

Ken Burke hurriedly got out of the car and walked towards the villa. The security guards and patrolling police officers at the gate greeted him with smiles.

He replied to each one, and although he had a warm face, was full of energy, and had a friendly attitude, it seemed that a terrible tyranny was accumulating in his heart!
"That damned Jared Brian! I've already given you all the parish's contributions this time! And he still bypasses me and invites Angus directly!" He pounded on the wall, his face full of resentment.

Originally, when he made contact with Angus, he was prepared to make him his subordinate and then gradually come into contact with the extraordinary!
Now that the other party has snatched it away, how could he not be furious!

"You still want me to keep doing things for you? To get you into the College of Cardinals? What a delusional old man, no wonder you've only ever eaten potatoes your whole life!" Ken Burke cursed even more fiercely, thinking of the other man's Irish ethnicity!

But once the rant is over, that's it.

He couldn't afford to offend a powerful cardinal, so he had to find a new way to vent his anger!

"Bang!" Ken Burke violently kicked open the basement door of the villa and grabbed a small figure with a somewhat fearful and hesitant expression.

"Little Peter, stop fooling around! We should begin today's exorcism ritual!"

His words were perfectly normal, and his tone was quite holy; to others, he sounded like a kind and benevolent old man.

However, in the eyes of this boy named "Peter," who was dressed as a nun, he was more demonic than the devil himself!

He stared at the great man whom his parents called "the bishop," his eyes filled with darkness and despair. He was just a child. Why... why did he have to go through all this?
However, just as Ken Burke was about to touch the boy, the basement door behind him, which had been open, suddenly closed!
"What's going on? Is it windy?" Ken Burke turned around curiously, then turned on the light next to him. "Perfect, saves me the trouble of closing the door."

The room lights were turned on, and he turned to face Little Peter, laughing heartily, "It's alright, Little Peter... we can take our time with today's exorcism..."

He walked slowly towards the boy under the lamp, and there were two shadows walking towards the boy under the lamp!
