Chapter 114 Alternative Trial
"They possess different powers, have different origins, and hold different beliefs!"

"The only thing they have in common is that they all have a similar ability to foresee the future!"

Bai Yang was also very curious about the battles between the superhumans he had created. The battle between Leon and Remus was more like a fight between a knight and a demon, and more like a fight with fists.

Because their extraordinary abilities are insignificant compared to their physical strength.

But this time, things were completely different between Angus and Jose.

Angus's strength comes from the "cross" given to him by Poplar, or rather from his own faith and the arrival of extraordinary power.

This is the most interesting point: he is an extraordinary being who has never been "indoctrinated" by Bai Yang, an extraordinary being who acts purely based on his own understanding, and his power comes entirely from his knowledge, the reminder from the crystal on Caroline's chest, and his own lofty faith.

Angus, like an ascetic, used these powers little by little, adding them to himself.

He read all kinds of books, arming himself little by little with faith and knowledge. He seemed inconspicuous, but in a very short time, he completed the integration of many extraordinary powers.

He was the teacher of "Saint" Caroline, the seeker of knowledge for the Templar Knight Leon, the priest whom the saint George also greatly respected, and also the "planner" who discussed the future of the Papacy with Pope Mario.

Bai Yang was very curious about his future and did not interfere with anything he did, watching him gradually get to where he is today.

While both are embodiments of "knowledge," José lacks Angus's environment, background, and upbringing, as well as his beliefs and convictions. The knowledge he possesses is entirely acquired through "exchange."

Jose's exchange and Angus's learning are essentially both processes of self-upgrading.

In a sense, this is a battle between good and evil "mages".

"Then, Your Majesty, who will win?" Alvin asked.

Bai Yang waved his hand, "Don't seek victory or defeat every day. That's not what we need to care about. Who wins or loses is not important. What's important is that I created these two beings. How can I let them just quietly clash here?"

How much willpower can two extraordinary beings he created fight alone in a place that few people know about?
He wants to train people, and killing superhumans is something he can do in the future; there's no need for it now.

He is not a god accustomed to killing; the benefits these people bring while they are alive far outweigh the benefits of their deaths!

"So, we stirred up a storm in Los Angeles, we set off a volcano in Manhattan, and in this port city called Miami, how can it just be a simple battle between two chosen ones?"

Bai Yang casually said, "Let them chat here for a while, then we'll head to the Gulf of Mexico!"

……

“You seem to be a big shot!” José asked curiously, looking at Angus’s clothes and Eugene’s face. “Who are you?”

Angus suddenly frowned. Why did this person's words sound so stiff, as if he didn't know how to speak English?
“Vatican Envoy, Special Cardinal of the Catholic Church, Provisional Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Miami, and Parish Priest of the Cathedral of Our Lady, Angus Bennett!” Angus answered methodically. “Now it’s your turn to answer my question, you unknown cultist!”

“I’m not a cultist!” José said, displeased. “Archbishop José Carmen of Solomonism, an archbishop recognized by the demon god!”

"A demon god? Who acknowledges a demon god?" Angus asked again, pointing to Eugene beside him. "Who acknowledges a demon god and grants you permission to arrest an auxiliary archbishop of the Papacy?"

Upon hearing this, Eugene was so moved he almost cried!
As expected, the Vatican has not forgotten his contributions and hard work over the years. Unexpectedly, the cardinal who came this time actually came directly to him!

Seeing that this person came alone and showed no fear in the face of such "extraordinary power," Eugene felt that he was saved!
“Auxiliary Archbishop? Your Vatican is full of such scoundrels, no wonder fewer and fewer people believe in you these days!” José said. “Are you here to avenge him, or to uphold justice?”

As a "prophet," José is able to know a little about the future, such as the arrival of Angus, which he saw in advance.

Similarly, he can know more about the past; this is his special ability to foresee the future, an innate talent.

Therefore, looking at this seemingly "great, bright, and righteous" messenger of holy light, the cardinal, he decided to launch a psychological attack!

"The bishop in front of you is currently selling indulgences. You should know that, right?" Upon hearing this, Eugene opened his mouth wide, wanting to argue. Of course, such things could only be done, not spoken of. The Catholic Church had abolished indulgences for almost five hundred years. If he said it now, wouldn't he be asking for death?

Unfortunately, he didn't even have a chance to argue. In the blink of an eye, José's hand was swung and his mouth was stuffed with a stone.

“I know now!” Angus said.

He was able to judge the accuracy of the statements, so José was right; Eugene, that audacious fellow, was indeed openly selling indulgences in this city.

How daring!

Jose hadn't finished speaking when he said, "He was also the biggest employer of the local gangs, killing many Protestants and even hiring someone to kill a bishop in the Miami area!"

"Mr. Eugene is also the biggest client of local smugglers. He likes to recruit illegal immigrants to what he calls resettlement sites, but in reality, they are red-light districts managed by gangsters!"

"He is also the largest blood and plasma provider in the area, the owner of two underground councilors, five underground clinics, and a regional organ provider..."

"Should I continue, Your Excellency Cardinal?"

Looking at Eugene's completely slumped face and Angus's indifferent gaze, José said with a mischievous grin, "I'd like to know, as a special envoy from the Vatican, do you want to save his life, or do you want me to expose his crimes?"

Upon hearing this, Angus now fully understood the feelings of Archangel Gabriel back at the Garden Church!
Even though he was on his side, the first thing he did upon arriving was to deal with this person's scandals.

The nature of the cross told him that José had not told a single lie.

Angus waved his hand, and light emanated from him, removing the stone from Eugene's mouth and tossing it aside. "Mr. Eugene Frazier, now tell me, is what he said true?"

“Of course not, Cardinal Bennett!” Eugene exclaimed, his lean face filled with piety and faith. “I am the finest Auxiliary Archbishop of Miami, and everyone can attest to that!”

“I handle all sorts of things at the church every day, so it’s impossible for me to do anything illegal or contrary to my faith, as he claims!”

"He's just trying to discredit me and distract you. You need to know that!"

Angus looked at the other man's sincere face, but then his thoughts drifted back to that day in the garden church, to the confrontation between Lucifer and Gabriel. He fell into a strange silence, then nodded slightly and said, "If I hadn't discovered that not a single word you said was true, I would have believed you! Mr. Eugene Fraser!"

"You probably won't live to see the Inquisition's judgment or have His Holiness the Pope read the verdict himself, because even the Lord cannot tolerate such blasphemy!"

Eugene wanted to speak, but found he couldn't even make a sound. Angus had already walked up to him, touched his head, and began to read his sins through the power of holy light.

It's no wonder they're bishops of a border city; each one seems to have had a truly remarkable life.

The bishop's life experiences left Angus in awe and extinguished his desire for atonement.

This sin cannot be redeemed, but he cannot be allowed to die directly either, otherwise hell would gain a great general!

Ultimately, Angus raised his hand; the appointment from the Vatican granted him provisional jurisdiction over clergy.

"In the name of Cardinal Angus Bennett, I announce your judgment: you will be exposed to the sunlight to repent for your sins!"

"You will not die easily unless you completely repent!"

"Every step you take in this city requires you to bow to everyone you pass by, hoping for their forgiveness!"

"If you do not obey, you will suffer the burning pain of flames in your chest and experience the torment of being surrounded by thorns at every moment!"

"This will be your salvation, and your ascetic practice, Amen!"

The words were calm, but the judgment was like thunder!
