Chapter 68 Strategic Deployment

Chapter 68 Strategic Deployment
"We will launch an offensive against Zion on Yom Kippur."

Prince Muhammad unfurled a military map, pointing his baton toward the designated battle line, and declared, "Masr, Surya, Hashim, and Al-Iraq will attack simultaneously from all four sides. The armies of all nations shall proceed according to the established plan."

He went on to explain the support deployment of the two forces: "As a support force, we will send troops to support the Masr and Hashim armies on the western front."

The objective of the first phase was to capture Jericho and quickly establish artillery positions in the town of Allenby to cover the outskirts of Jerusalem.

We will also send a force to support Al-Iraq.

The ministers’ attention turned to Major General Amir, commander of the northern border region, who, given the current situation, was the only one who could command the troops supporting Al-Iraq.

Major General Talal quipped, "Can someone so young lead a good unit? Don't let it delay the battle and make you a laughingstock among the Allies."

Lu Lin retorted without hesitation: "I'm the one who helped you protect your Tabuk district."

Major General Talal choked and let out a cold snort.

During the defense of Nukhohr, Major General Talal's eldest son held the military base northwest of Nukhohr, but the line collapsed after only one night. Later, Lu Lin held off the Sikkim armored forces' offensive and became a war hero, which caused him to harbor resentment towards his nephew.

Muhammad pretended not to see it and continued, "The main strategic objective of the northern route is to help Al-Ilag seize the Kirkuk oil field and switch Zion's fuel export supply."

Therefore, the first phase objective is to capture the outposts surrounding the Kirkuk oil field, cut off the supply line from Damascus to Rutbai, and deprive the Zion forces west of Al-Ilag of support.

The ministers below the stage were discussing among themselves. Although they had been mentally prepared, most of them were still uncertain when they learned that war was really about to break out.

After all, Shuangzhi had not fought a war for more than forty years. The last time they fought a foreign war was back when the founding emperor was conquering the country, and now the camel cavalry had become history.

No one knows what the consequences will be after this formal declaration of war against Zion. Perhaps next time, Zion's fighter jets will appear in Riyadh's airspace.

Lu Lin observed the reactions of these military officers and ministers with a cold eye.

Oil and the passage of time have worn down their sharpness. They are adept at scheming and infighting within the royal family, but when it comes to development and vision, they are the ones who hold Shuangzhi back the most.

The system of succession by brother to brother was the foundation of a nation with two leaders, but decades later, it became the country's biggest problem.

Prince Muhammad produced a piece of parchment with gold trim, and everyone bowed respectfully, placing their hands on their chests.

Then the prince began to read aloud:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful,
In the name of His Majesty King Shuangzhi,

In view of the current situation and the needs of joint operations by the Allied forces, the Royal Military Council has unanimously decided to appoint the following:
Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Fourth Western Front, commanding troops from the Tabuk, Hail, and Medina districts, to cooperate with the Masr and Hashim coalition forces in carrying out operations on the Jericho-Arunbi front.

Major General Amir bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was appointed commander of the expeditionary force in the northern border region, leading the 3rd Armored Division, the 17th Mechanized Infantry Division, and the 'Lightning' Special Operations Battalion to immediately advance north to reinforce Al Ilag, cooperate with its Eastern Military District forces to seize the Kirkuk oil field, cut off the Zion-Damascus-Rutbai supply line, and ensure the achievement of the first phase of strategic objectives.

This decree takes effect immediately. All generals are expected to perform their duties diligently, bearing witness in the name of God and swearing an oath of the glory of the two nations, and to live up to the trust placed in them by the Royal Family and the people.

—Supreme Military Council of the Kingdom of Shuangzhi, April 1388 (Il-4).

Prince Muhammad closed the parchment he had finished reading and handed it to the two generals. Lu Lin took it, and from that moment on, the Twins officially declared war on Zion.

Following the reading of the official statement was the provisional meeting for the establishment of the temporary command set up by the Ministry of National Defense.

“His Majesty the King also attaches great importance to this matter,” Brigadier General Ali said to Lu Lin. “However, he prefers to deliver a victory speech at the triumphal ceremony rather than reading out such a decree.”

Lu Lin nodded. In truth, he didn't care much about the king or the country, as long as it wasn't like that dung ball from the Fusang Empire, messing around with the army.

"I have a question," Lu Lin said. "Who was in charge of the overall command for this support mission to Al-Irag?"

"Each country fought its own battle, but the strategy was formulated by General Aronmes of Masr. Each country prioritized completing its corresponding mission objectives, and each echelon of troops was commanded by its respective country."

Brigadier General Ali replied, "At the same time, the Supreme Provisional Command will provide the latest battle updates to the front-line troops to ensure the unified progress of the battle."

Lu Lin hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't. Why did he get the feeling that there was a big problem?
But his words don't carry weight now. The title of Northern Military District Commander sounds intimidating, but he is the least experienced, let alone able to change the decisions of the Arab League.

The impromptu meeting was brief, consisting of a few words of instruction to the two generals, and informing them that Shuangzhi was only providing support to the troops, and that their allies should bear the brunt of any problems.
Okay, that's very Arabic.

"Your mission is to run out of ammunition and come back alive."

This is Prince Muhammad's advice to his son.

"I'll try my best," Lu Lin said.

The prince stared at him for a while, then finally nodded slightly: "Be careful."

Because it was a secret military operation, even Lu Lin only learned about it a few weeks in advance, let alone the lower-ranking officers and soldiers.

Everyone was given only time to write a letter to their family, and these letters would only be delivered to their families once the war officially began.

It's cruel, but also very realistic.

“Compared to our Arab compatriots who have been displaced in the war, this is nothing at all.” Fahd sealed his letter and put it into the cardboard box.

Someone joked, "Fahd, why don't you write one for yourself too? After this battle is over, you'll be a victorious hero!"

"Pah, pah, pah!" Fahad covered the other person's mouth, saying, "Don't say such unlucky things!"

"Major General, would you like to say something before we set off?" Bandar asked.

Putting aside everything else, his major general was quite good at boosting morale. Bandar thought that even if he didn't become a general, being a propaganda minister wouldn't be bad.

“No need,” Lu Lin refused, touching the small notebook in his pocket. “I have nothing to say before we achieve victory.”
