Chapter 38 "The Second Generation of the Sudri Faction"

Chapter 38 "The Second Generation of the Sudri Faction"

Lu Lin felt like he had a very bizarre dream.

In his dream, he became a soldier in Zion and was assigned to be a machine gunner on a Centurion.

As the war broke out, he watched helplessly as his crew, along with the army, captured a city in an Arab country. He sat on the hood of the tank, watching the tracks roll over the ruins and bring the flames of war to the unarmed civilians.

A flowerpot fell from above his head, landing squarely on the side armor of the tank. He instinctively looked up and saw a young girl ducking back into the window.

Immediately afterwards, Lu Lin found that his hands were out of control, so he pointed the gun at the window and began firing.

In an instant, fragments of bricks and tiles flew like pieces of paper, and the roar of machine guns drowned out the terrified screams of the crowd.

Lu Lin heard strangers laughing.

To his horror, the person was himself.

Just as he was struggling to "fight for control of his body," the scene before him changed, and he became a soldier in striped camouflage.

He stood at the gate of a warehouse. The second lieutenant in charge spoke something in Hebrew, then made a gesture, kicked the gate open, and began firing his submachine gun.

The people inside the house fell like wheat being harvested, bullets mercilessly piercing their bodies, and spurting blood smeared the walls.

The woman was dragged into the house crying and screaming, while the child hid in a corner, watching everything with eyes full of hatred.

Lu Lin took a few steps back, while outside on the street, a tank slowly drove by, its heavy tracks crushing the broken walls and ruins.

Just then, a slightly older child darted out from the street corner and rushed towards the tank, his thin clothes covered with bombs.

"Do not!!"

He rushed over instinctively.

But the next second, the explosives wrapped around the boy's waist detonated.

"boom--!"

Immediately afterwards, his consciousness exploded.

Lu Lin suddenly opened his eyes, cold sweat soaking through the silk sheets.

The roar of the machine gun in his dream still echoed in his ears, and the touch of the trigger seemed to linger in his palm. He stared at the intricate Arabic patterns on the dome for a long time before he realized that he had returned to reality.

He heard what sounded like whispers next door, so he craned his neck and shouted, "Who's there?"

Then he realized his throat was extremely dry, and luckily there was a glass of water by his bedside, so he took a big gulp.

The conversation stopped abruptly as Mrs. Musta pushed open the door and entered. Lu Lin felt a warm hand touch his forehead, and the scent of mint perfume diluted the hallucination of the bloody smell.

"Get up quickly, today is a big day."

The maids filed in carrying gilded trays, and Lu Lin remembered that he was going to attend an award ceremony today.

Musta had prepared a traditional Arabic robe for him, with subtle patterns and gold embroidery on the collar, but Lu Lin shook his head after seeing it: "I'd rather wear my military uniform."

Wearing a dark green double-breasted coat, epaulettes, sashes, and medals, he felt much more at ease.

After stepping out of the house, he saw Prince Muhammad and his brother Sultan waiting for him, and several pairs of eyes turned to look at him.

"Is everything ready?" Prince Muhammad looked his son up and down. "Go and greet your army. They are all waiting for you outside."

Lu Lin pushed open the gate. Major Bandar, leading the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, stood in formation in the manor, whipping the slacking soldier's shin with a leather glove. Upon seeing Lu Lin, he immediately shouted, "Attention!"

The sound of three hundred pairs of military boots striking the ground simultaneously was so uniform that many of the maids and servants in the manor were secretly amazed when they saw this majestic and imposing army.

Are these the soldiers trained by our second young master?

Lu Lin waved his hand: "Let's go!"

Thus, the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion marched in perfect unison, facing the rising sun, and set off for the parade ground.

“That’s the basic procedure. Remember what your father said. Whether you speak or act, always remember that you are a prince of the Muhammad family.” Sultan couldn’t help but add, “And don’t easily get into arguments with others.”

"Okay, okay."

Looking at his younger brother, whose words went in one ear and out the other, Sultan looked helpless.

The awarding ceremony was actually very simple: the king delivered a victory speech in front of the entire nation, then awarded Lu Lin the rank of Major General and the Medal of Honor for the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion.

Upon arrival, Sultan first led his younger brother to the reception room, where he was greeted by lavish interior decorations and noisy laughter.

Lu Lin initially thought he had stumbled into some kind of salon, until someone saw him, their eyes lit up, and they took the initiative to come up and greet him.

"Hey! Amir! This outfit looks really out of place on you!"

These guys were young, adorned with all sorts of flashy necklaces and watches. Lu Lin guessed they were probably the original owner's friends. Sultan introduced them, "These are our cousins. This is Uncle Faisal's fifth son, Faisal Jr., and this is Uncle Suleiman's nephew."

Before Sultan could finish his introduction, one of them asked Lu Lin, "Are the Zionites really as powerful as the rumors say? I heard that their camels grow up drinking engine oil and can breathe fire!"

What breed of camel can breathe fire? Is it from Cybertron?

Lu Lin was taken aback. "Who told you all this?"

The well-dressed young man replied, "Well, I have a relative who works at a checkpoint in Turiff, and that's what the fleeing Surya soldiers he encountered told him."

Lu Lin wondered if these defeated soldiers were scared out of their wits. How could they even spread rumors?

The group then shifted their conversation to Lu Lin's achievements, and everyone burst into laughter.

"Don't we know you? You must have stolen someone else's credit!"

"There's nothing shameful about admitting it to us!"

Lu Lin originally thought that the number of tanks he had destroyed had increased by another zero, but after learning more, he found that it was not too exaggerated.

So you believe camels can breathe fire, but you don't believe I can fight?

However, Sultan was somewhat angry at this moment, but he couldn't show it because of his status as an uncle. He simply scolded, "Amir's achievements have been recognized by His Majesty, and he himself is about to become a general. Do you want your father to be implicated by insulting a military leader of the Shuangzhi Army?"

Upon hearing this, the group of spoiled brats immediately shut up and started talking about other topics.

Taking the opportunity, Sultan pulled Lu Lin aside, his voice tinged with apology: "Others may not believe it, but I know your record is all real. However, these guys are all from our Sudeli faction, so we still have to consider some of our relationship."

After the awarding ceremony, no one will dare to gossip about you anymore.

The "Sudri faction" and the "other brother factions" are the two main forces in the Shuangzhi royal family. The Sudri faction refers to the six brothers born to Queen Sudri and the founding emperor, including the current emperor, Prince Muhammad, Prince Suleiman, and other six princes, who control the country's ruling position.

However, the power held by the other brothers should not be underestimated, especially since the Shuangzhi system has a "brother succeeds brother" system, and it is hard to say who will gain the upper hand in the future.
