Chapter 3 Major Amir cleverly foils the plot

Lu Lin soon met the captain from the Military Intelligence Bureau, guided by the guards. The man's face was blackened by gunpowder smoke, with several congealed wounds and slightly turned-out flesh. His woolen overcoat was also tattered, making him look like he had been in several battles.

"it's him."

The guard pointed at the man, and upon seeing the major's rank on Lu Lin's shoulder, the man spoke:

“I am Captain Karim Nasser of the Rahim Kingdom’s Military Intelligence Bureau. I have detailed data on Zion’s weaponry and important intelligence on the direction of large-scale troop movements.”

Lu Lin had just looked at the map and thought that the front line had collapsed too badly. You have to know that this place is more than 100 kilometers away from Rahim's western front.

He nodded and said, "I am the commander here. Where are your troops?"

The man remained silent.

Lu Lin then asked, "Where did the intelligence come from?"

The man struggled to control his facial muscles, trying to maintain a blank expression, but his bloodshot eyes betrayed his inner turmoil, and his voice was heavy:
"Before the war, we intercepted a number of telegrams from Zion. I was then ordered to launch a military operation against Zion based on the intelligence. At Ajron, we destroyed a forward outpost in Zion, but we were soon met with retaliatory bombing. A hole was blown in the entire West Bank defense line, and the frontline troops collapsed."

"The army of Zion was taking prisoners everywhere, so I had to change out of my uniform and escape by hiding in a camel cart carrying luggage."

His words were overheard by the refugees nearby, and several children immediately picked up stones from the ground and threw them at him.

An old woman wearing a headscarf suddenly spat: "Useless MI6 agents! You knew those Zion scum were going to attack, yet you sent our sons to their deaths!"

The man covered the back of his head, pursed his lips, and stood motionless.

Lu Lin pondered for a moment, then waved his hand:

"You come with me."

He led the man into a nearby empty refugee tent, where Khalid searched the man and found a Rahim intelligence document with charred edges and a gold-embossed badge.

Lu Lin glanced at it casually; the cover featured a majestic eagle wearing a crown, looking exceptionally heroic.

When the man sat in the chair, he seemed to have lost all his energy.

Lu Lin instructed Khalid, "Prepare a cup of hot tea for our Arab brother; he needs to rest."

Khalid: "We're out of tea, how about coffee?"

"As long as it's hot, it's fine."

Khalid immediately prepared to leave, and Lu Lin looked at the man as he reintroduced himself:
"This is the Nukoshir outpost on the Shuangzhi border. I am the commander here. You can call me Major Amir. If you have any intelligence, you can tell me, and I will pass it on to my superiors."

The man shook his head: "Your rank is too low. This intelligence is very important. I need to see your superior directly to report it."

Lu Lin was taken aback, thinking to himself that this guy was quite presumptuous. So he decided to soften the other party's attitude first and see if he could get any useful information out of him:

"It's not a short trip from Ajron to Nukoshir, it must have been a difficult journey!"

The man glanced at him with bloodshot eyes: "We've been walking for three whole days, and there are corpses everywhere."

"Which route are you taking?" Lu Lin handed the man a cigarette and lit it for him. "There are Zion reconnaissance planes everywhere in the sky right now."

“We’ll first head east through the Wadi Alaba Valley, then circle around the eastern shore of the Dead Sea.” The man took a drag of his cigarette and recalled his experiences over the past few days: “We hid in caves during the day and traveled at night. Luckily, we had a ‘Suleiman’ in our group, otherwise we would have gotten lost while crossing the salt marshes.”

What is Suleiman?
Are they guides unique to the Arab world?
Lu Lin asked the question that concerned him most: "Have you encountered any Zion armored forces along the way?"

"Yes, the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division of Zion; their Chieftain main battle tanks are very distinctive."

The Chieftain main battle tank, also known as the Chieftain tank, is a main battle tank developed by the United Kingdom after World War II.

Chief?

Did chiefs appear at this time?

“Yes,” Lu Lin casually remarked, “but yesterday’s military report said they were resting in Jerash.”

Jerash was a place name he saw on the map, and because it was marked in red, he remembered it.

The man glanced at him: "Your intelligence is outdated. I personally witnessed them driving through salt flats; their tracks were stained with the blood of our Arab brothers."

He fell silent, then took another drag of his cigarette.

"The coffee's here!"

Just as Lu Lin was about to speak again, Khalid walked in carrying two cups of hot coffee. A glimmer of light finally appeared in the man's eyes, but he was burned when he reached out to touch the cup.

But Lu Lin noticed his little action.

He recalled watching a documentary about the Middle East called "The Awakening of the Arabs," which mentioned that traditional Arab cups were thin-skinned cups made of tin or aluminum, without handles, and had good heat conductivity. Therefore, Arabs had the habit of holding the cup by the bottom or pinching the rim with three fingers.

This coffee cup was extremely hot; touching the cup directly was almost like touching a boiling kettle. Only those accustomed to ceramic cups or cups with handles wouldn't notice this. This small anomaly made Lu Lin think of other inconsistencies in the other party's behavior—Rahim's western bank defenses were actually closer to Damascus, where it would be easier to take refuge, yet the other party had traversed over forty kilometers of desert and salt flats, claiming to be carrying important intelligence.

He suddenly remembered that Zion had a very powerful intelligence agency called "Mossad," which was one of the world's four major intelligence agencies and was most fond of carrying out assassinations and infiltrating other countries.

Could I have run into a spy?

Lu Lin's heart raced slightly as he prepared to test the other party.

When no one was looking, he quietly put the safety on his pistol and removed the magazine.

At this moment, Captain Karim spoke up:

"The battlefield is ever-changing. Please allow me again to report to your superior, Major. This concerns not only the Kingdom of Rahim, but also the security of other Arab countries."

Lu Lin recalled the methods the Nazis used to test Jews during World War II, and then bluffed:
"Of course, Captain, but I need you to take off your pants. If you've been circumcised, it means you're a Zion spy!"

Many legendary Israeli spies have been exposed because of this detail, such as Eli Cohen and Mista Avim's forces.

But actually, circumcision is not only practiced by Jews; Islam also has circumcision.

But Lu Lin's goal was to win over the opponent's mind, to catch them off guard and reveal a weakness.

"This"

Karim frowned, and before he could finish speaking, Khalid had already rushed forward and pulled down his pants.

"."

Karim's genitals were exposed to the air, and many people's expressions immediately changed.

Lu Lin's eyes sharpened: "Explain yourself, Captain Karim."

The next second he drew his gun, but Karim on the other side was faster, snatching the gun from his hand without even pulling up his pants.

The atmosphere in the room instantly became tense. Ahmed flew into a rage, drew his gun, pointed it at Captain Karim, and roared:

"Put the gun down!"

Karim realized he had acted too impulsively, but it was too late to say anything now.

Seeing that he had been exposed, Karim pressed the barrel of his gun hard against Lu Lin's temple and shouted, "Put down your guns, or I'll shoot this royal young master!"

Just as the two groups were locked in a stalemate, Lu Lin calmly spoke up:

"I've already unloaded the bullets from my gun. Surrender, Mr. Spy. Pull up your pants and end this farce in a civilized manner, leaving each other with some dignity."

He took the magazine out of his pocket, waved it in front of everyone, then threw it on the ground and said:

“Tell me your purpose and the information you have. Think of your family and friends, and I can guarantee your safety in the name of the Al Saud family.”

"Why not use this status?" Lu Lin instantly transformed into a dramatic character.

Captain Karim's hand holding the gun was trembling slightly. He didn't need to look at the magazine on the ground to know that Lu Lin was not lying to him. He was too nervous to notice earlier, but now he also noticed that the counterweight of the gun in his hand was wrong.

The change in the situation also made Khalid and his men's eyes light up. They had actually captured a Zion spy, which was a great achievement!

"No need, Major."

Karim's voice returned to calm: "But you're right, let's each save some dignity for ourselves."

After saying that, he suddenly bit open the capsule that he had hidden in his back molars.

Captain Karim released his grip, collapsed to the ground, and began to convulse, foaming at the mouth.

Lu Lin hurriedly tried to pry his mouth open, but the other man's jaw was clenched tightly.

"Step aside!"

Ahmed leaped to Captain Karim's side like a bear, his biceps bulging, and delivered an uppercut to the fake captain's chin.

With a crisp cracking sound, the spy's jaw immediately dislocated, and several of his teeth broke. Ahmed opened the spy's mouth and examined it carefully, then frowned:

"It's cyanide."

Lu Lin's expression was grim. Given their current medical conditions, cyanide poisoning was enough to declare the person dead.

Ahmed tried other methods, such as violently inducing vomiting, but to little avail. Within just a few minutes, the Zion spy suffered respiratory failure and his pupils dilated.

Lu Lin watched all of this silently until the other person stopped breathing completely.
