Chapter 112 A Gentle and Refined Person Enjoys Tea, Baozi Who's About to Enter the School Magazine
With nothing much to do in the afternoon, Chen Zhou and his wife went to pick up their child again.
Before they got married, the two imagined:
Every day after get off work, we pick up the kids from school together, and then go to the market together to buy groceries and cook.
The ideal is wonderful, but the reality is that you have to go to work and do your job.
If either of the two people can manage to keep their child from being left at kindergarten, that would be considered a success.
Now that we have the opportunity to pick up Chen Taotao for a Go lesson together, it feels like a dream come true.
Chen Zhou took out the box of tea that Teacher Wei had given him to his wife.
"Master Tao Tao told me to go back and use it to make tea eggs."
He rarely drinks tea. Because, like Old Chen, drinking too much tea makes him too excited to sleep.
The little girl followed suit, having previously joined Chen Zhou for a few sips of tea.
The father and son stared at each other intently for the entire afternoon.
Lin Yifan, on the other hand, would occasionally drink a little; she was as serene as a chrysanthemum. The tea leaves they used to make tea eggs at home were bought by her.
Ms. Lin looked at the tea packaging box. Although she didn't know much about the market, she felt it wasn't cheap.
"Isn't it a bit wasteful to boil tea eggs?"
Indeed, Chen Zhou has recently been promoting the standardization of the production process in his shop, and the tea used for the tea eggs has been fixed to a certain affordable black tea available on the market.
Moreover, Teacher Wei's meaning was definitely that Chen Zhou should take it back properly.
"Let's just drink it directly."
-
"Or should we keep it and give it away?"
The couple said it almost simultaneously.
Ms. Lin had a few more things to consider: her husband's business inevitably involved social interactions, including bringing a box of tea when visiting both sets of parents and elders in the future.
But Chen Zhou firmly made the decision for his wife and casually tore open the outer packaging.
"Keep it for yourself."
"Hmm~"
Ms. Lin was very obedient and held the tea leaves in her arms.
My fingers gently twirled the torn-off sealing label.
Chen Taotao is now in kindergarten and is starting to act like a little adult. She told her, "Mom, you should drink less, or you won't be able to sleep."
Chen Zhou couldn't help but shake his head and smile: "Your mother is fine."
A husband and wife may be the only direct relatives who are not related by blood.
The next day was Monday.
Chen Zhou started his day with a large mixed salad as usual.
After a busy and stressful first day of school last week, people are gradually getting used to the rhythm of life.
Traffic jams are still happening in the places that are supposed to be congested, but it's tolerable now.
As for the small shop, it also welcomed a new wave of customers at noon.
Kang was the main student, and he brought many students from No. 2 Middle School.
There were about ten people gathered there, both boys and girls, and a row of bicycles were parked there. Soon after they entered the store, they filled up all the seats.
The students were wearing the same red and white short-sleeved shirts, which didn't seem like they were from the same class.
Payment methods: aside from a few people using their phones, most people used cash.
Because of the students' arrival, queues formed at the store during lunchtime.
The customers at the end of the line couldn't help but wonder:
Is this the community canteen or the No. 2 Middle School canteen?
To be honest, if it weren't for the intelligence alert, Chen Zhou might not have known that the classmate Kang in front of him was his food recommendation officer at the Second Middle School by the Sea.
However, now that he knew, Chen Zhou wanted to treat him to a roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) to try.
He greeted Zhao Yilin, "Junior Sister!"
Just then, Kang was picking up some pickled vegetables when the shop assistant gently tapped her on the shoulder, making her pause slightly. The shop assistant was so warm and generous that it made Kang blush slightly.
She said to Kang:
"Boss, I'll treat you to a roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) to thank you for bringing so many classmates to our shop. I wanted to ask if you'd like it with both lean and fatty meat, or just lean meat? I personally recommend the premium version with both fat and skin; it's not greasy that way, and it tastes really good. That's what I usually eat. By the way, do you want it with green peppers or eggs?"
After finally understanding what the shop assistant meant, Kang Haoran quickly and politely replied:
"no, I'm fine."
He then took the cucumber and returned to the crowd.
There was no reason to force it on them. As Zhao Yilin approached the kitchen, she said to Chen Zhou:
"Senior brother, he doesn't want it. But I guess he'll want to try it next time he comes, because I noticed him staring at the roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) a few times."
Chen Zhou nodded meaningfully.
Their conduct is quite noble. The school has a good atmosphere. Let Chen Taotao take this as her goal from now on.
By the time the students finish eating and leave, the shop will probably be closing down.
Aunt Zheng was cleaning the kitchen, while Zhao Yilin was clearing the dishes from the table.
As the boss, Chen Zhou was taking stock of today's business.
Needless to say, the steamed buns sell out almost every day. As for the snacks, we do have two sets left.
Even after the new product was launched, it still received relatively little exposure, and people were mainly coming for the steamed buns from the community canteen.
However, there wasn't much left, and the store easily divided it up and consumed it all internally.
Just then, Chen Zhou looked up and saw that Kang, who had just left, was riding his bicycle back to the shop alone.
Seeing this, Chen Zhou quickly asked him, "Did you forget your things here?"
With a slightly hesitant expression, Kang Haoran unfastened the clasp of his crossbody bag:
"Uncle, the store was crowded just now."
The proud young man, Chen Zhou, smiled as he put a set of roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) in a bag and stuffed it into the other man's bag.
Kang Haoran sniffed the meat sandwich and took it out of his bag again.
As he opened the bag, he said to Chen Zhou:
"Uncle, I'm not taking the roujiamo for free. I've told all my roommates, classmates, and acquaintances about your shop."
Chen Zhou knew this, and smiled as he invited the other person to sit down and eat slowly.
"You're not full. I remember you ordered seven or eight steamed buns."
"I shared a few with my classmates."
It seems that Kang had planned this all along.
Because it was a version of the roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) made from ingredients that had been cleared out of the shop, the one he was holding had an egg inside in addition to green peppers.
The braised pork belly is simmered over low heat for a long time, rendering out the excess oil.
Even with the fat and skin intact, it tastes fragrant but not greasy.
The small, diced green bell peppers are relatively crisp and firm. When you bite into them, a burst of grassy juice bursts out, adding to the overall texture.
The egg inside a roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) is not a peeled tea egg.
After being boiled in plain water, it was soaked in meat broth, absorbing its rich aroma.
It's a truly satisfying meal.
Kang swallowed a large mouthful and continued his conversation with the shop owner about recruiting customers:
"As for the rest, I know some upperclassmen in my club, but they're in their final year of high school and might not have much time. Don't worry, the club will be recruiting new members soon."
You can tell that Kang really tried his best.
Chen Zhou advised him: "Focus on your studies and do what you can."
Chen Zhou roughly knew that his home was nearby, so he chatted casually for a bit: "Your No. 2 Middle School has student clubs?"
Kang nodded:
"My Ivy Literary Society publishes a school magazine every semester, and the second semester's issue is in mid-October."
Kang Haoran plans to include the shop in front of him in this issue's essay contest.
