Chapter 227 Entering Nirvana

Chapter 227 Entering Nirvana (End of the Buddha's Heart Chapter)
That day, Long was momentarily lost in thought.

Previously, the Taoist priest only knew how to run away, and it subconsciously thought that this was just a nimble insect. Who would have thought that the insect would suddenly turn its head and try to bite it?
And
—This fucking hurts!!!

Tianlong felt the sword light and murderous aura pierce through its skin and bones, penetrating straight into its brain. Although it was far from being seriously injured, the pain that went straight to its brain marrow made it want to go mad.

It's almost as bad as the torment that has been suffered over the past thousands of years!
From that rotting throat, a piercing roar instantly erupted. Its sound waves rippled outwards, seemingly echoing throughout the entire city.

Zhou You felt a stench, like that of a stagnant pool of corpses, wash over him, and he was suddenly lifted into the air—but he immediately used a branch to stop his momentum, and then leaped out like a spring, stabbing Duan Xie down again!

Having fought its way through, Duanxie had long since fully charged up. Even with the release of its malevolent energy, it was still unable to kill Duanxie.
But that's enough to give it a few hard blows!
The malevolent aura spread out like mist, then condensed into a single point in the blink of an eye. Before the person even arrived, a point of cold light fell like a falling star—starting from the dragon's mouth and ending at its neck, it actually scraped out a huge bloody gash!
That day, the dragon was in so much pain that it thrashed about, causing the entire Dragon Flower Tree to tremble. The stubborn, rock-like fruits on the tree fell one after another, creating large craters on the ground.

But after all, this is the place where Maitreya was born, and even with all this turmoil, it did not collapse—not even a trace of cracking.

Seeing this, Zhou You finally felt relieved. He stomped his feet several times to avoid the sharp claws that were swung out in a fit of rage, and at the same time turned his head to speak to the paper figure.

"Old Cai, I've already lured you into the trap, when are you going to prepare yours?"
-
However, Cai Yuankui's situation was also extremely difficult.

The moment the tremor began, all the monsters in the city seemed to go mad, surging towards the small area. The formation of the monsters pressed down again and again, and now it was on the verge of collapse.

And most importantly
Cai Yuankui suddenly looked up at the sky.

The battle between Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and Maitreya Bodhisattva continues, but the number of hungry ghosts has visibly decreased. At first, they could cover the entire body, but now they can only barely stop Maitreya's movements.

The Taoist priest was also bogged down; if this dragged on any longer...
Before the thought could even finish, another unexpected event occurred.

The enormous-bellied Bodhisattva, seemingly tired of this endless entanglement, patted its belly, sweeping away the pus and demons. Then, it placed its left hand horizontally on its left foot, pinching its middle finger with its thumb, and for the first time made the Buddhist preaching mudra.

Russian qing.

The chanting began again.

Unlike the first time when it was formless and intangible, and the second time when it was a method of salvation, this third time the scriptures could not even be classified as sound or words. One could only see Maitreya's lips moving slightly, and countless words beyond human comprehension would echo in one's mind.

Cai Yuankui remained stunned for several breaths before finally coming to his senses.

Then, his face instantly filled with terror.

This is the third lecture of the Longhua Dharma Assembly.

This is also the final lecture!
—This Maitreya Bodhisattva actually wants to compress months of sermons into this one day, willing to pay a great price to forcibly ascend to the position of Buddha!
But at that moment, a voice suddenly came from a paper figure on Cai Yuankui's shoulder.

"—Old Cai, I've already lured you into the trap, when are you going to prepare yours?"

Is he a Taoist priest?
Upon hearing this voice, Cai Yuankui finally snapped out of his boundless fear. Ignoring the cold sweat soaking his body, he grabbed the peasant woman next to him.

"The Taoist priest's side is ready, hurry up and take that thing out!"

".What?"

"I said! That thing! It's our last hope now!"

Only then did the peasant woman fully regain consciousness. She hurriedly took the black box off her back, then took out her waist tag and pressed it forcefully into the slot on it.

With a series of unlocking sounds, the locks inside the box were unlocked one by one, but when it was fully opened, there was only a black feathered arrow inside.

However, for the first time, Cai Yuankui showed a solemn expression when faced with such a simple and unadorned object. He first bowed down and then cut his wrist without hesitation, pouring his blood onto it.

The jet-black arrow greedily drank the blood, and as the blood seeped in, streaks of bright red gradually appeared on the arrow shaft—just like the veins of a human body.

Suppressing his anxiety, Cai Yuankui bowed again and then solemnly said...

"Liu Ziming, the White Horse Guard of the Evil Suppression Division, respectfully requests that—in this world, evil spirits and demons are causing chaos and defilement, their power beyond human control. We beseech you to lend us this Heaven-Shaking Arrow to cleanse the world of its filth and restore peace to this realm."

The black arrow trembled for a moment, then suddenly calmed down.

Upon seeing this, Cai Yuankui, as if lifting a thousand-pound weight, gritted his teeth and picked up the arrow, shouting at the paper figure on his shoulder.

"Master, I'm all ready. The time limit is half a cup of tea. I can act at your command at any time!"
-
at the same time.

Within the city of Chitoumo, atop the Dragon Flower Treasure Tree.

Zhou You finally breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the paper figure shout out a sentence with all its might.

To be honest, he's starting to run out of steam.

Even though its body was almost completely rotten, this 'Dorok Corpse Abandoner' was still the legendary Dragon King. Even though it had lost all its magic and its mind had been driven mad by torture, its enormous body alone was enough to crush everything!
After being provoked several times by Duanxie, the dragon had gone completely mad. Its body charged left and right among the tree trunks, and even though it was smashed and its blood and flesh were splattered everywhere, it was determined to crush this 'insect' that dared to offend it!
Zhou You gripped his sword in reverse and used the sharp blade to slice open the body of a fungal monster. He was about to kick away another one that was approaching when a rotting giant claw swept down forcefully. Helpless, he could only risk being bitten and retreat to the side.

The sharp teeth tore open the robe, scraping off a whole chunk of flesh, but the person didn't even blink, simply swinging their longsword and cutting down the monster.

The blood vessels at the wound site contracted on their own, preventing significant blood loss. Zhou You took a few labored breaths, but without resting, he leaped back up the tree.

Part of the dragon is still outside. To ensure we can completely control it, we must move it a little closer!
In an instant, the dragon's furious roar drowned out all other sounds. At this moment, it only had eyes for Zhou You, and only Zhou You!
Twenty feet.
Fifteen feet.
ten feet
Wuzhang
at last.

Just as that foul-smelling giant mouth was about to bite Zhou You, Zhou You arrived at that place.

At this point, the dragon's body had been completely incorporated into the tree, forming a straight line.

At the same moment, Zhou You suddenly turned around and unleashed the Demon-Slaying Sword—

The Dragon King instinctively dodged, after all, it didn't want to suffer the pain of the evil aura invading its body again—but after a while, the blood-red sword light still didn't appear.

Instead, a softly chanted mantra was uttered.

"Well!"

The sense that was deprived was hearing!

Zhou You had long realized that since the Dragon King's eyes had been gouged out, it had been using its hearing to track him along this route. So, as long as that was cut off, the dragon would completely lose its ability to sense the outside world!

as predicted.

The moment the mantra was uttered, the dragon's body suddenly froze, then it panicked and crashed to the side.

Unfortunately, its entire body is now inside the hollow of the tree trunk, surrounded by still lush branches. Having lost all sensation, even if it wanted to escape, it would have nowhere to run!
Even so, for such beings, the death curse chant would only affect them for a breath or two at most.

Therefore, Zhou You still had to personally intervene.

He leaped down without dodging or avoiding, jumping directly into the giant mouth of the corpse-abandoned Dorosa.

Similarly, it is the only weak point in the entire body of this thing!

Immediately afterwards, the last remaining malevolent energy exploded in the dragon's mouth, its blood-red color shooting straight into the sky—accompanied by a shout uttered with all its might.

"Do it!"
-
Beyond the Dharma Realm, Cai Yuankui, who had already nocked an arrow on his bow, took a deep breath and then drew the string to its limit—and as the bow was drawn back, his beard and hair began to turn gray little by little, as if he had aged decades in an instant—and finally, he aimed at a certain point in the void.

The strings resounded like thunder.

In the blink of an eye, the black arrow had already been shot out!

then.

Just the next moment.

—Only a glimmer of light suddenly appeared.

Although entirely black, the streak of light from the arrow was as bright as day. The brilliant light sliced through a straight line, tearing through the boundless night, tearing through the barriers of the Dharma realm, and finally—

...Finally, they tore open the body of that celestial dragon.

Time seemed to freeze at that moment. Only after several breaths did it begin to flow again.

Similarly, the effect of this arrow was revealed. Half of the dragon's body was reduced to ashes by this arrow, its already rotting internal organs exposed nakedly to the air—however.

Even so, the celestial dragon was still not dead.

The centuries of corrosion tormented and tormented it, but the pollution also made its vitality incredibly tenacious. Even after being cut in half, it still struggled to climb out of the trunk and flew towards the sky, carrying with it a cloud of blood and filth.

And it has only one goal.

That is Maitreya Bodhisattva, who is outside the Dharma Realm.

—This dragon regained its senses while on the verge of death and prepared to reunite with its master in the outside world!

But at this critical moment.

It was just as it was struggling, about to fly to the edge of the Dharma realm.

A ray of clear light suddenly appeared, then burst out of its mouth—like the afterglow of the bright moon, it drew a semicircle in mid-air, and then pierced straight into its brain through the empty eye socket.

moment.

The high-pitched dragon roar abruptly stopped.

The surviving dragon paused in mid-air for a few seconds, and then...

Fall suddenly.
-
...Smoke and dust billowed from the ruins.

After a while.

Zhou Youcai, covered in filth, staggered out of the dragon head.

That last sword strike had exhausted his last bit of strength—now that his magic power was depleted and his murderous aura was completely dissipated, he was nearing the end of his rope.

A tearing pain shot through his limbs and bones, and his vision blurred in waves. His brain kept sending the most intense warnings, urging him to find a place to rest and receive treatment.

But Zhou You continued walking forward, sword in hand.

Because this matter is not yet over.

He slowly followed the dragon's corpse, and amidst the blood and gore, he finally saw his target.

—That old monk.

Compared to before, this person's body is even more emaciated. Now it looks like only a layer of skin covering the bones. Even without human intervention, he probably won't live much longer.

However, seeing Zhou You approaching, the old monk still struggled to raise his head and smiled at Zhou You.

"The chosen one... it seems I lost my bet."

Zhou You did not answer; he simply dragged his sword and approached the old monk step by step.

The other person didn't seem to mind his rudeness and maintained their calm and peaceful smile as they continued speaking.

"What's that saying again? 'The victor is king, the loser is villain.' It's also a phrase that Liao Chen loves to say, but I've never liked it, probably because I think it's too violent. But now it's the best description. You won, and I lost, so it proves that I was wrong."

The two were not far apart, but because Zhou You was not traveling fast, the old monk continued to speak calmly.

"This is unavoidable, after all, the World Honored One said this when he was still alive."

Only then did Zhou You finally speak.

"World Honored One? Are you referring to that Buddha of the future, who will be eternally future?"

The old monk was suddenly somewhat surprised.

"How did you know, benefactor? Oh, right, you are a person of destiny, so it's not surprising that you know these things."

The old monk sighed softly, watching Zhou You approach him and hold the sword horizontally in front of him.

However, there was no fear in his eyes.

What one can see in it is only a calm sense of relief—even a little bit of relief and a little bit of liberation.

After a few moments of eye contact, the old monk spoke again.

"Chosen One, this is your victory, but please remember that the corruption in this world is far more profound than you imagine. You have won against this old monk, but many more hardships await you in the future. Some may even sense it in advance and actively hunt you down."

The words may have sounded like a threat, but the tone was actually well-intentioned advice.

Zhou You nodded, then held the sword to the old monk's neck.

"So, is there anything else you'd like to say in conclusion?"

The old monk gazed at the horizon, seemingly trying to discern something, but ultimately only shook his head.

"It's nothing more. Since I have failed, all words are superfluous. However, if there is an opportunity, I would like to ask you, benefactor, or the person behind the paper figure on your shoulder, to apologize to Zhengde on my behalf and say that I have indeed wronged him in this life."

Zhou You nodded in agreement.

Then, the sword blade fell.

This monk, who once dominated the entire Lizhou and preached in the imperial court, has now passed away.

And at the same time.

—Beyond the Dharma Realm.

Maitreya, who had already spoken of the Dharma-ending Age, suddenly stopped, and the preaching voices that had been heard all fell silent.

...So...we won?
Before the remaining defeated soldiers could cheer and celebrate, the Buddha's head, which was as big as a boulder, suddenly tilted and then rolled off.

Then, cracks gradually appeared on that towering body, and then it began to shatter little by little—at first, it was just a few small fragments, but it quickly turned into a collapse like a mountain falling down.

Finally, countless stones poured down like a sudden rain!

Cai Yuankui, whose hair was already completely white, didn't bother to rest. He whistled and ordered everyone to evacuate. Before leaving, he grabbed Lu Ping, who was trying to rush into the Dharma Realm.

"Uncle Cai, let me go! My master is still inside!"

"Don't worry, the Taoist priest is a lucky man, he won't die even if I do. You going in will only cause him trouble—damn it, don't bite me!"

……

Within the realm of Dharma, Zhou You chuckled to himself.

These guys won't stop causing trouble even before they leave.

Listening to the gradually fading noise from the paper figures, Zhou You smiled and shook his head, then laboriously sat down cross-legged.

The entire Chitoumo City began to collapse at the same time, but the system's female voice also rang in his ears.

"Congratulations, player! You have achieved the special hidden ending for this scenario: Buddha's Passing Away. You will return in ten seconds. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6"

As his figure gradually faded away, suddenly, a ray of morning sunlight pierced the darkness and spread across the scarred land.

—The long night will end, and the dawn will break.
