Chapter 87 The White Triangle Under Siege

Siwo picked up his headphones and listened carefully, concluding that it was yet another sea monster.

"Two sea monsters?" Su Ming frowned. Zombified giant creatures shouldn't be creatures that like to stick together—he pondered, did this mean someone was controlling them?

"Su Ming, the movements of the ships on the outer perimeter are not quite right," Zi Jin suddenly said while observing the sea conditions through binoculars.

Su Ming glanced at the radar and indeed, the ships that had been scattered around had quietly gathered together, with the closest ships being more than ten kilometers away. He continued to look outwards and found that there were still many more behind, these ships vaguely forming a semicircle, closing in on the White Triangle.

“It’s a trap; we’ve been set up,” Su Ming told the two.

He didn't know where the problem came from, but the other side was clearly aware of the White Triangle's movements.

"Interesting!" Su Ming muttered to himself.

Violet had already put on her binoculars and was carefully identifying the enemy ships. "The ones in front are pirate ships disguised as ordinary vessels." She counted the number of pirate ships. "Such a large-scale operation must have cost a fortune. It seems the mastermind behind the sea monster incident is determined to destroy us," Siwo said. "Should we notify the Federation for support?"

Su Ming shook his head. "No need. With the arrival of the Federation, we actually have more enemies to be wary of."

"Huh!" Zijin suddenly noticed something. She reached out and cast a spell, and something was pulled up from the sea.

It was a very large conch shell, yellowish-pink in color, very beautiful.

"Grandpa Xiwo, this big dinner should be enough, right?" Violet asked, weighing the conch shell in her hand.

“You guys are really confident.” Siwo narrowed his eyes. He took the conch shell, estimated its size, and said, “Let’s catch another one. I’ll make a seafood soup.”

"So, should we fight or retreat?" Su Ming asked.

"Grandpa Siwo, how many pirate ships can you handle?" Violet tossed both phoenix snails to the white skeleton servant, telling it to keep them safe for now.

"Two ships, I suppose," Siwo replied. "If we're not going to hold back, three or four would be fine too."

"There's no need for that. Why don't we each destroy one of them?" Violet suggested. "Let's teach these pirates a lesson, or they'll think they can really control us with this!"

Su Ming planted small flags representing various combat units on the sand table. "With the White Triangle's maneuverability, we can indeed charge in and destroy their first two ships." He drew a flight path, "and then turn and escape calmly."

"The enemy still has two sea monsters," Siwo warned.

Su Ming looked at Zi Jin, who deduced for a moment, "The White Bone Mark currently has ample energy, enough to withstand their entangling attack. If these two sea monsters dare to surface and fight, I can kill one with 100% certainty, and I'm 50% confident I can keep both alive." Su Ming, however, fell into deep thought, "That's too easy. "Not bad, finally someone who uses their brain in battle." Siwo patted Su Ming on the shoulder. "Xiao Jin has a very strong combat instinct, but tactical planning has always been her weakness. If she had met you earlier, she wouldn't have been chased so badly by the Temple Knights."

"Don't flatter me, I was forced into this role," Su Ming said. "I've been a commander in competitive games, so I have some experience with backstabbing and intrigue."

Game stats always have limits, but the fun of playing against other people is endless.

The pirate fleet continued to close in. Su Ming put away the sonar equipment and commanded the Skeleton to pilot the White Triangle further into the bay. The pirate ships quickly blocked the entrance and exit of Clear Spring Reef, completely trapping the White Triangle inside the bay.

This seemingly passive and do-nothing approach clearly caught the enemy off guard. Through his binoculars, Su Ming could even see the astonished expressions on the pirates' faces—they had never expected to trap the White Triangle so easily in this area.

After some adjustments, the pirates continued with their next move. The three light pirate ships that had been charging ahead spread out to the sides, revealing several more robust warships behind them. They entered the waterway and began to encircle the White Triangle, which was located inside Clear Spring Reef.

At this moment, Zijin also noticed the problem: "Those pirate ships that charged ahead earlier were mostly filled with dummies—they were just trying to lure us into attacking!"

“That makes sense,” Su Ming said, updating the locations and labels on the sand table. There were four pirate ships in the bay this time, each displacing around 1000 tons. “What type of ships are these?”

“The raiding ships have relatively weak firepower,” Violet replied. “The ones coming in now are the real deal, so we need to be careful of their boarding tactics.”

Su Ming shook his head inwardly; as expected, reality was far removed from the stereotypes portrayed in movies and television.

In the outer waters, four massive ships, each with a displacement of over 1500 tons and of uniform design, stood out conspicuously. Violet confirmed through her binoculars, "Wasp-class gunboats. The combat power of these gunboats is comparable to that of regular navies; they are definitely top-tier among pirates."

“They’re probably not real pirates.” Siwo also picked up his binoculars to observe. “Their military formation is very neat. They might be a navy from some faction, coming in disguise.”

"That's hard to say," Zijin sighed. "Having too many enemies is such a hassle; you might get outmaneuvered without even knowing who it was."

"So, just how much trouble do you attract?" Su Ming sighed for the umpteenth time. He marked the ships on the sand table, then circled an area to the side and rear of the pirate fleet.

"Judging from the layout, this should be where their main force is located," Su Ming explained. "If we had chosen to break out before the encirclement was completed, we would most likely have been surrounded and forced in this direction."
