Chapter 85: The Zombie Supplement

Chapter 85: The Zombie Supplement

A year ago, the necromancers led by the Temple of Light issued a warrant for arrest, which received responses from almost every country and organization in the world, including the Kingdom of Cold Mountain.

And this powerful northern nation is quite diligent.

"The Kingdom of Cold Mountain has arrested and imprisoned over a hundred necromancers, and the Federation suspects something fishy is going on," Siwo said.

"So the Kingdom of Cold Mountain arrested necromancers and then coerced them into recreating zombie technology?" Su Ming asked.

"Let the Federation worry about the infighting between factions; we won't get involved. We'll just focus on catching the sea monsters," Zi Jin interrupted the discussion.

"Too."

The third decoy ship arrived as scheduled, bringing some fresh vegetables and a batch of corpses that could be used as zombie materials. Su Ming witnessed for the first time Zi Jin performing the zombie transformation technique. A series of runes merged into the corpses, and dark energy, along with the fabricated life laws, forcibly drove the bodies of these deceased masters.

One by one, newly transformed zombies rose up and joined the labor force of the White Triangle.

"I think I forgot to teach you." After finishing everything, Zi Jin noticed Su Ming watching from the side. "There's a big difference between high-level zombies and skeletons. The first stage of the summoning spell—"

Su Ming shook his head. "No, not yet." He looked at his hands. "I still don't really feel like I'm going to become a necromancer."

“Death is also a part of life,” Sivor said.

Su Ming replied, "Death is death."

Zijin stopped Siwo from continuing to speak. "Grandpa Siwo, if you could only live to be a hundred years old, and you imagined that you should have been buried underground three hundred years ago—would you still hold the same view?"
The old elf was speechless for a moment. "I was narrow-minded, young friend Su. I apologize."

"No, it's just my own internal struggle," Su Ming said. "Okay, I know there's no room for sentimentality, I'll accept it."

"I'm not asking you to accept it reluctantly," the scholar said seriously. "Only power that you can truly embrace from the bottom of your heart can be unleashed. Using it with hesitation will at best lead to loss of control, and at worst, backfire on you."

This is completely different from Earth's materialistic and technological philosophy. Su Ming let out a breath, "I understand."

After resupplying, the White Triangle set sail again. A day of searching yielded no trace of the sea monster.

Considering that the number of sea monsters has been reduced by two, this probability is acceptable.

After his magic power recovered, Su Ming began constructing the MK71 artillery system. The pit reserved on the bow of the White Triangle was for it. He first used materials to assemble the bottom layer, the rotary ammunition drum and loading mechanism. Su Ming estimated that it would take about five days to complete the second stage of summoning such a complex and huge weapon.

After assembly and installation, the issues of ammunition and power supply will be resolved step by step, and the MK71 naval gun system can then be debugged.

Su Ming couldn't teleport artillery shells. The other world didn't have gunpowder like Earth, nor did it have a chemical industry to produce it. The manufacturing system for alchemical explosives was completely different from Earth's gunpowder supply chain.

Fortunately, there is no fundamental difference in performance; the games on fireworks ultimately lead to the same goal.

High-explosive shells already exist in this world, it's just that the MK71's 203mm shell is a bit too big. The largest shell in this other world is currently the 170mm breech-loading gun equipped on the UFO and Starsun, which is only half the length of the MK71 shell and weighs less than a third of it.

Fortunately, because it was so outdated, the blueprints for the MK71 shell were easily found online. So, when Su Ming met up with the Ale a couple of weeks ago to collect supplies, he handed the blueprints to Bei Anqi. After studying them, Bei Anqi felt that it was feasible to manufacture, as the technological leap wasn't too significant. After all, the MK71 used a separate ammunition system, with the shell and propellant loaded separately, eliminating many complex parts and saving a lot of trouble.

Su Ming repeatedly contacted the Five Fangs through the Rune Tower, trying to inquire about the progress of the shell production from Beianqi, but he never received a reply.

Furthermore, the sniper rifle he teleported to the testing center also faced ammunition problems. Su Ming summoned cartridge cases, primers, and bullets, which Violet filled with alchemical explosives, thus creating a few bullets. Violet showed great interest in this new weapon and suggested poisoning the bullets.

Siwo had some ideas, and he went back to review all the information about the sea monster.

Noticing that the old elf was having some difficulty reading, Su Ming thoughtfully adjusted the cabin lighting.

Siwo noticed, "Young friend, you are quite observant."

"no big deal."

Su Ming looked at his monocle and found that the light transmission was not particularly good and the polishing was not very fine, so he asked about the parameters.

"What, you want to give me a new one?" Siwo asked.

"Yes, it should be much better than what you're using now, but you'll have to wait a while," Su Ming replied. Miao Xin and Xiao Citou had been traveling all over the United States and it wasn't convenient for them to order custom-made glasses.

"Thanks in advance then." Siwo didn't refuse, but then he thought of something amusing, "Could the new glasses be packaged in a box with a rose pattern?"

Su Ming was slightly surprised. The old elves' clothing was mostly plain, but he didn't expect them to like flashy items.

He readily agreed to this simple request.

The thought of Zijin seeing Su Ming presenting him with roses as a gift made Xiwo into a mischievous smile. That would be especially interesting!
When the sea monster issue was discussed again, Siew presented his argument.

“We have killed the first batch of No. 03 and the second batch of No. 06.” He pointed to the sand table. “No. 01 was sighted a month ago and has not been seen since—it should have hardened by now.”

Siwo produced a list of sea monster sightings and specific activity times, showing that No. 01's growth rate and activity intensity were significantly stronger than other sea monsters.

Magic is not omnipotent; the greater the power gained, the more irreversible the price, and the faster destruction will come.

“This conjecture is reasonable,” Su Ming agreed. “As the first beast, No. 01 should have the most problems. So the existing sea monsters should include No. 02 from the first batch, and Nos. 04 and 05 from the second batch, a total of three.”

Zijin pondered for a moment, "Not only that. If it's a complete rotation plan, there should be a third batch of sea monsters. 07, 08, and 09 are currently being nurtured and developed."

Su Ming thought about it and realized he was right. Such a large-scale plan couldn't be a one-off deal. To ultimately solve the problem, they had to find the root cause.

Speculation aside, the search for the White Triangle continued. The number of ships in the surrounding waters gradually increased, and many small dots appeared on the radar screen. Su Ming carefully avoided them, trying to prevent suspicious ships from getting within twenty kilometers.

Furthermore, the increase in the number of ships has also caused interference with sonar. In particular, some sailboats from the Orcs of Ling Island, whose activities are unknown, have made the underwater acoustic environment exceptionally noisy.
