Chapter 50 Astral Purification
Chapter 50 Astral Purification
Zijin glanced at Su Ming and noticed that he was still looking through the list and writing down what he needed on a piece of paper.
“You can draw whatever you want on that list, I’ll control the degree, and I’ll make sure the Federation has to swallow their pride and blood,” Charles said.
“Vice President Charles, we only agreed to conduct an initial investigation,” Violet emphasized again, “and the supplies we need must be provided in advance.”
“This can be used to get a job!” Charles completely ignored the other party’s suspicion that they were planning to get something for nothing.
Su Ming handed the completed paper to Zi Jin, who added some alchemical materials and magic crystals before handing it to Charles.
The vice president did some calculations and said, "The federation should agree to this amount, but they will definitely ask to send an observer to accompany us."
“No,” Violet refused. “We must ensure our own safety, and this ship contains a great deal of technical secrets.”
“Understood.” Charles jotted it down in his notebook. “Then the main matters are settled. Next, there are two minor matters.”
“First, there’s the issue of prisoners.” He pulled two pieces of paper from his bag. “The Carlo Magic Guild is willing to pay the market price of 1000 gold coins to ransom their captured Captain Harding, and—”
“I want to keep him here,” Su Ming suddenly interrupted.
"[Violet, we need someone who understands the ocean.]" he messaged the scholar. "[You have a way to control him, don't you?]"
"There is a way, to seal the magic power, like strapping a remote-controlled alchemical bomb around its neck," Violet said. "Hardin is also very cowardly and afraid of death."
Charles realized that the two were talking privately, and wisely kept quiet.
That's what I was thinking about—
"But no, we can't trust Hardin." The scholar rejected the suggestion. "Unless you're absolutely certain you'll silence him afterwards—there are too many secrets on the Zhiyuan!"
Su Ming thought for a moment and realized that Violet was right. "Then we don't need Hardin."
"Yes, Harding belongs to the Carlo Magic Guild. That's a very powerful organization; it's not worth offending them over something like this."
Su Ming nearly choked.
"What about the problem of lacking experience with the ocean?" he asked Violet. "We're both novices; we'll be in trouble if we encounter a crisis on the vast ocean."
"That's definitely a problem," the scholar agreed. "I've always been taught to have reverence for nature."
In particular, mysterious marine creatures have now appeared at sea.
As she spoke, the girl suddenly hesitated, and after a long pause, she said to Su Ming, "I actually have someone I can ask for help."
"Is it reliable?" Su Ming asked, after all, he and Zi Jin were both wanted criminals, wanted by almost every organization in the world.
"Very reliable, but that means dragging him into it." The girl was clearly conflicted. "Give me some time to think it over carefully."
【OK. 】
Noticing that the two had finished their whispered conversation, Charles asked, "Have you made up your minds?"
“Hmm, let’s not keep Hardin. Just redeem him normally.” Charles noted it down. “I was originally planning to suggest that you agree to the Carlo Magic Guild’s redemption request, accept the 1000 gold coins, and at the same time ask the Carlo Magic Guild to send Captain Hardin to provide support. That way, we would get the money and keep Hardin’s men.”
“As expected of a businessman,” Violet praised him. “But we don’t need them anymore. Let’s settle the prisoner issue as it is and move on to the next matter.”
Charles glanced at the remaining piece of paper in his hand and wisely put it away.
"The second thing is that the Federation wishes to establish remote communication with you."
"Yes, but we need you to provide a set of communication crystals."
Charles jotted down notes in his notebook again. "I need to rush back to report on what we just discussed and urge the Federation to make a decision." He said to Zijin and Su Ming, "Please allow me to take my leave; I will return as soon as possible!"
Violet nodded. She followed Charles onto the deck, watching him and his two guards salute in farewell before leaping onto the dragonhawk.
The scholar lightly stomped his foot, and a large number of tentacles suddenly emerged from under the deck, binding the three of them, along with the dragon eagle, tightly and gagging them.
"Don't be nervous, I'm not going to kill you," Su Ming said, emerging from behind Zi Jin to comfort her.
The divine scepter appeared, with a series of pure white runes swirling around the violet, clearly visible even in the sunlight. The girl conjured a new spell, and light energy gathered above the deck.
Although it was a spell he had never seen before, Charles could recognize it as a purification spell, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Su Ming, on the other hand, felt uneasy and retreated from the spell's range.
The next moment, a beam of light covered the visitors from above, and both the humans and the dragon-eagles bulged their veins and struggled violently, letting out muffled howls from their gagged mouths.
But the scholar remained unmoved, continuing to maintain the spell while taking notes in her notebook. After about five minutes of this, she reluctantly stopped.
"Have a safe journey!" Violet dispersed her tentacles and greeted the three of them.
No one responded. The dragon eagle didn't even wait for its master's command; as soon as it regained its freedom, it stumbled and took off, quickly disappearing from sight as a tiny black dot.
Zijin has already disinfected the ship, including the one carrying Su Ming. However, for safety reasons, these three close contacts still need to be washed before being released.
The scholar wrote down the conclusion in his notebook: "The new spell 'Astral Purification' resulted in stable emotions and no side effects for the second to fourth recipients."
"No, there is!" Su Ming protested, seeing Zi Jin making up a lie. "Your spell is clearly called 'Itchy to Death,' and the side effect is disinfection!"

Back in the cabin, Violet opened the gift box Charles had given her. Inside were eight large, bright red strawberries neatly arranged. A water-based crystal was embedded in the center of each strawberry, and there were faint runic circuits at the bottom. The entire box constantly emitted a white, frosty aura.
“This box is much more expensive than strawberries,” Zijin commented. After using three different identification spells to confirm that they were not poisonous, she picked one out and took a bite. “Hmm, very fresh! Su Ming, you should try some too.”
"No need, I'm a little allergic to this." Su Ming sat down and picked up the documents Charles had left behind to look through.
"What are your thoughts on the sea monster?" Violet finished her strawberry in a few bites, clapped her hands, and began to look up information. "Can we wade into these muddy waters?"
"No way," Su Ming replied. "These people are thinking that they'll benefit if we kill the sea monster, and it would be even better if we were killed by it. As for mutual destruction or mutual destruction, that would be a double blessing, a win-win situation!"
Trying to guess at this level of petty scheming is an insult to one's brain.
“That’s right! Then let’s focus on swindling some supplies and running away?” Zijin suggested.
