Chapter 110 Willow Leaf Island Holiday
Chapter 110 Willow Leaf Island Holiday
Violet also examined the wounds on the mantis puppet with great interest, "Yesia's knife is so fierce."
"Is the blade's strength and the user's magic strength additive?" Su Ming asked.
“Yes. Yesia’s weapon is already at the Saint-level, and with the added Saint-level magic power, she can’t possibly be at a disadvantage in a sword fight,” Violet said. “I was able to block it purely because of the Divine Favor Scepter.”
“So here is my predicament,” Beanie sighed. “Even the heaviest mechs are chopped into cabbages in front of her.”
Violet examined the mantis's magic circuits. "I have a way to increase its strength, but it will accelerate the consumption of magic crystals."
"Sister Elisa, please!" Beianqi exclaimed excitedly.
“I can replace the material of the blade,” Su Ming also said.
"Hey, is that 'special alloy steel'?!" Bei Anqi's eyes lit up as she pounced on Su Ming and grabbed him. "That's incredibly hard!"
"You've been wanting to do this for a while, haven't you?"
Su Ming cleared out the space right next to the flight deck to make a storage compartment for Bei Anqi's mecha puppets. Zi Jin summoned the bone whale that had been soaking in the water, disassembled it into materials, and used them to construct this additional part of the ship's structure for Su Ming.
Everyone got to work separately. By the time Violet had filled the fuel tank, it was nearly dusk.
On the flight deck, Beianqi set up a searchlight and led her maintenance team in a vigorous and enthusiastic work.
“We’re not leaving until the morning after tomorrow. Isn’t tomorrow enough?” Su Ming asked Bei Anqi.
"The Blue Ark crew needs to repair the Five Fangs tomorrow, so they'll be working overtime tonight to finish this." The girl was making notes in a clipboard. "The working conditions here at night are excellent. We should be able to finish in three or four hours."
"Take it easy. You've been working so long hours these past few days and haven't had a proper rest."
"I'm fine, I'm okay."
Su Ming also had his own tasks. After the equipment maintenance was completed, he continued to set up the various electronic systems of the MK71, such as the laser rangefinder, velocity sensor, muzzle displacement sensor, and barrel temperature sensor.
As each item on the long list was checked off, preparations for the test firing of the MK71 howitzer finally came to a ready state.
In his workspace, Su Ming stretched lazily. He saved his document and prepared to shut down his laptop. The scholar beside him, unusually tired from days of work, didn't continue her research as usual.
"Su Ming, can you teach me how to use the software?" Zi Jin suggested, since she no longer had any language barriers.
“Okay. What do you want to learn?” Su Ming asked.
“Let’s start with document editing and creating tables,” Violet said. “We don’t need 3D drawing; I can’t learn that.”
Su thought for a moment and decided to get another computer, because sometimes one laptop wasn't enough for him.
Miao Xin was still in Vietnam, but had switched to a different warehouse belonging to an importer and exporter of electromechanical hardware. During this time, she gradually took away many items used in the installation of the MK71 howitzer. With increasingly sophisticated camouflage, the little rascal could now brazenly hide in blind spots of the cameras. When it was time to "pick up" the goods, Miao Xin would manipulate it to don the staff's clothes and emerge to openly take them.
Since most of the items were inexpensive, Su Ming asked Miao Xin to write a list.
He simply went back into the office and took a laptop that was still in its packaging. After estimating the cost, Su Ming had Miao Xin take out two pieces of gold jewelry that he had looted from the sanatorium director's house last time, crumpled them up, and placed them on their boss's desk along with the list.
Before leaving, they also took the printer.

Su Ming turned on the new computer, first teaching Zi Jin the basic operations, and then opened an offline tutorial on the computer, teaching her how to search for various functions.
The girl kept typing away, complaining to Su Ming about the messy arrangement of the letters on the keyboard.
"Why not follow the alphabetical order?!" she exclaimed, utterly bewildered. "Was the designer out of their mind?"
"Take it easy, don't break the keyboard!" Su Ming advised. "You'll get used to it."
It was getting late, so the two didn't study for too long. After half an hour, Zijin turned off her computer and rested.
Su Ming noticed that Bei Anqi and the others were still busy at the stern. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was almost eleven o'clock.
"Bei Anqi, get some rest," he said as he walked over.
“It’s almost finished,” Beanie replied. “Once we finish this tonight, we can focus all our efforts on the heavy artillery tomorrow.”
Su Ming glanced at the girl; her delicate face betrayed her exhaustion. He realized that her intense work hadn't just been a recent occurrence; she had been working tirelessly to save the Five Teeth, and before that, she had been captured and tortured by Yesia.
However, things weren't much better for him and Zijin either. Or rather, since they transmigrated, the two of them had never stopped, whether they were injured, sick, or exhausted.
Su Ming gazed up at the night sky. The moon in this other world was slightly smaller than the one on Earth, but much whiter. He suddenly noticed that the moon in this world actually had a pinkish tint. Reflecting the distant stars, it possessed a unique, exotic charm.
It seems that since I transmigrated, I have never stopped to pay attention to these things.
A plan began to form in Su Ming's mind.

The Beer was also a member of this trade convoy. The next morning, the slower ship set sail first, leaving Willow Leaf Island for the assembly point.
Su Ming waved goodbye to them from the deck and then went to prepare breakfast.
It wasn't until nine o'clock that Zijin hurriedly walked into the workroom, still wearing her pajamas and with her hair uncombed.
"Su Ming, did you turn off my alarm clock?" she demanded.
The alarm clock that Zijin received from Su Ming was a smart one. Besides manual adjustment, it also supports Bluetooth connection to her phone. Last night, he logged in using his phone and changed the settings.
"Sorry, I didn't discuss it with you," Su Ming explained. "The White Triangle is on holiday today, and I wanted you to sleep in a little longer."
"A holiday?" Beianqi, who had also overslept, walked in. Her time-out spell had been dispelled by Su Ming.
"Because we all need to rest, doesn't anyone have any idea how they look?" Su Ming said. "You should be able to tell by looking in the mirror, everyone has dark circles under their eyes!"
Zijin patted his shoulder, "Okay, I won't hold it against you for making me sleep in. I'll go to bed early tonight and relax."
“That won’t do.” Su Ming shook his head. “I’ve already sealed off all work-related cabins, including the library. Work is prohibited today.”
"Su Ming!" the scholar said angrily.
"I've calculated the time; our work plan can be completed in time," Su Ming said seriously. "Everything should be done with a balance of work and rest. We need to be in good condition to deal with what comes next."
While the two were thinking, Su Ming pushed them to sit down at the table and poured each of them a cup of hot soy milk.
"Can we do it my way today?"
Zi Jin looked at Su Ming for a while, and finally relaxed. She rubbed her temples. "You should at least have informed me beforehand."
"I'm sorry, consider this breakfast as an apology. It'll be ready soon," Su Ming said with a smile.
Beianqi was concerned about MK71, but seeing this scene, she could only sit down at the table helplessly. "Su Ming, what did you make? It smells so good."
"Pan-fried soup dumplings, my favorite dish."
Seeing the considerable number of kitchen utensils on the cutting board, Zi Jin guessed that Su Ming had put in a lot of effort. She calmed down and began to try to accept it.
In terms of logic, Su Ming is right.
Hearing the sizzling sound from the pot, Su Ming lifted the lid, releasing steam and a fragrant aroma. He casually sprinkled some chopped scallions on top, then placed the pot, along with the steamer, on the table and introduced it to the two girls, saying, "Be careful when you eat them; these buns are very hot and contain soup."
He sat down himself, picked up a bun, blew on it, and demonstrated, "Take a small bite first, suck out all the soup, and then eat it."
Freshly cooked carb-filled meat, fried in fragrant oil, nothing in the world could be more delicious.
The three of them quickly finished the meal, still wanting more, which made Su Ming's preparations since last night worthwhile.
"Su Ming, what's next?" Zi Jin asked.
"I don't have any specific plans, everyone is free to do as they please," Su Ming said.
"Okay, I'm going to take a nap," said Angie, getting up. "I'll take care of lunch!"
"See you at noon." Su Ming waved to her and stood up, saying, "I'm going to explore the island."
Zijin looked at her nightgown and decided to change her clothes first.
Willow Leaf Island isn't large, about five kilometers long and one kilometer wide. Su Ming landed on the beach and began a casual stroll.
The island was covered in trees and grass; this was Su Ming's first encounter with plants from this world. On Earth, Su Ming had never been to an island, so he couldn't really tell the difference; at least they all looked lush and green.
After the storm, the sky was clear and the ultraviolet rays were exceptionally strong. He found some very resilient branches, tied them together, and made a straw hat to wear.
Not far away, he saw a grove of coconut trees, but unfortunately, it was past the season, and there were no coconuts on the trees. One tree had been snapped in half by the storm, leaving only half a trunk. Su Ming's eyes lit up. He searched the vicinity and quickly found the blown-away crown.
When he came out, Su Ming brought a short knife. He used the knife to peel away the leaves and outer skin, and soon the tender white part was revealed.
"Coconut core?" Zijin's voice came. "I remember you can eat this."
Zijin changed into a short-sleeved shirt and capri pants, draped a thin shawl over her shoulders for sun protection, and wore a blue woven hat as she walked along the beach.
Su Ming peeled off a piece of white coconut core meat, handed it to her, and tasted it himself.
It has a crisp texture and a subtle coconut flavor.
"I heard this stew is quite good."
Su Ming continued peeling the coconut cocoon, completely removing the white flesh. He looked up and found Zi Jin still standing there, watching him.
"What's up?"
"I just have nothing to do," the girl said, shrugging. "I have absolutely no idea what to do."
Su Ming weighed the coconut cocoon in his hand. "Shall we take a walk together?"
"it is good."
The two strolled side by side, sharing coconut kernels as they chewed, the crunching sounds mingling with the rustling of the sand beneath their feet.
The sun was strong, and the fine white sand reflected a dazzling light. The water and sky blended seamlessly, but unfortunately, the image was a bit overexposed.
"This is my first time at the beach," Su Ming said, trying to start a conversation. "And yours?"
“This is my first time visiting an island,” Violet replied. “But I’ve lived in a coastal city before, so I’m not unfamiliar with the beach.”
“Ah, when I first came here, the Tower of Bones was right by the sea.” Su Ming suddenly slapped his forehead, recalling the events at Cui’an Cliff. “So this is actually my second time at the seaside—back then I was so focused on surviving that I didn’t pay any attention to the scenery.”
"Who isn't?"
The waves crashed onto the beach, reaching above their ankles. Violet simply took off her shoes and waded barefoot into the shallow water.
"Su Ming," the girl suddenly asked, "could you get me a few more outfits?"
"What style?" Su Ming asked, somewhat puzzled. Ever since establishing a supply channel with the Chamber of Commerce, Zi Jin hadn't asked Su Ming to summon clothes for her from Earth.
“Something like the previous ones, suitable for everyday wear, yet very elegant,” the scholar replied. “You need to be mindful of your image when facing a large fleet tomorrow. You should prepare a few sets as well.”
Su Ming thought that made sense. The temperature had risen a bit recently, so it was time to switch to some summer clothes.
"Oh, and give me your size again," he said to Violet.
The girl's health has improved significantly in recent days; her previously thin cheeks have become much rosier, and her size will definitely change.
Since she wasn't in a hurry, Violet casually summoned a bone bird to fetch the soft ruler.
She looked at Su Ming, "Does combat training count as work?"
Su Ming glanced back at her, knowing she wanted to stretch her legs a bit, "No, that doesn't count."
“Alright then.” She took off her shawl and hat. “I will only use water and earth elemental magic, and one-tenth of my magic power.”
"Who do you think you are?" Su Ming quickly retreated and slipped into the woods on the shore.
Several wind blades swept past, and a row of trees fell down.
"You broke your promise!" Su Ming leaped out from the other side, releasing the Binding Claw, but the target shattered in an instant.
It was just an illusion; Zi Jin had already gone invisible. Su Ming was somewhat annoyed; this was the umpteenth time already. He needed a method to break the illusion.
A new wave of wind blades swept in, accompanied by Violet's voice, "Then I won't use earth magic."
Su Ming quickly jumped up and used his shield to block the wind blades. Sure enough, a large number of rock spikes emerged from where he had been standing.
But that was clearly not all. Su Ming looked up and saw a shower of meteors raining down on him.
Su Ming drew his long whip, dodging the fire rain while stirring up large swaths of sand and leaves.
Su Ming currently lacks the ability to make sudden breakthroughs, after all, he hasn't been studying for very long and can't become an expert overnight. Therefore, Zi Jin won't kite him too far away, otherwise the training would be meaningless.
Sure enough, a distorted ripple flashed nearby, and Su Ming raised his hand and shot out three bone spears.
Zi Jin wanted to test Su Ming's spell strength, so she stacked two more layers of shields on herself and stayed in place without dodging.
"Wait!" Su Ming's hand gesture changed, and the bone spear disintegrated in mid-air, shattering into magical dust that crashed into her shield.
"What's wrong?" The girl stopped what she was doing.
“This bone spear is a modified version; you can’t withstand three shots like this,” Su Ming said.
“My innermost shield is at 50% of my mana strength.” Zi Jin was somewhat surprised; she believed Su Ming had also sensed this. “Even this can’t stop it?”
"Activate your shield to full strength." Su Ming decided to let the facts speak for themselves.
"Row."
