Chapter 317 You Were Born as an Experiment Subject

Chapter 317 You Were Born as an Experiment Subject (Last Day, Please Vote!)

Some time ago, a monster that looked like a skinned frog appeared on the outskirts of Qiquan City.

His flesh and blood were completely exposed, with various chunks of flesh twisted together, giving people a very disgusting feeling.

This monster lurks around the city of Airspring, stealthily attacking passersby and then causing them to kill each other and devour their own flesh.

The monster will bestow some of its flesh upon the ultimate victors.

The winner who eats the monster's flesh will also undergo a mutation, becoming a muscular monster with a bulging body.

With just their muscles, their stats are roughly equivalent to a paladin with a stat of around seven or eight.

Before this monster was discovered, many people went missing almost every day. These missing people killed each other, and eventually only a dozen or so monsters remained, lurking around Qiquan City and hunting other passersby.

When the church discovered the monster, they initially thought it was some kind of evil creature, such as a ghoul or a demon.

However, when using holy methods, it was discovered that the monster's flesh and blood had an astonishingly high resistance to holy attributes.

Of the clergy who initially went there, all but one who managed to escape perished.

The survivors brought back some flesh and blood, and after research, the church determined that this muscular monster was a product of Project Son.

However, when they examined various files, they discovered something strange.

That is, in the experiments back then, there were only a few families with the bloodline of saints involved.

The Dartment family, the essence of sainthood manifests as 'bone'.

The Neton family, the essence of the saint manifests as the 'right hand'.

There are three other organs, which manifest as the skin, eyes, and lungs, respectively.

Of the five saintly families in total, none of them have a clear connection with meat.

Among all the saints, there are some who are related to flesh.

However, these saints were either far away and did not participate in the Azure Whale experiment at all, or they were from other churches and had nothing to do with this Holy Son experiment.

There were no relevant blood records in the various experimental records from that time.

Therefore, they were also unsure which of the original test subjects this fleshy monster was.

There were a total of 367 experimental subjects recorded.

There are thirteen experimental subjects provided by holy blood families like the Rhine.

Of these thirteen people, nine have been confirmed dead.

Of the remaining four, besides Rhine, White, and Yibanyan, there was also a failed Holy Son, who had been imprisoned by his original family.

Apart from these thirteen people, the remaining 354 test subjects were either volunteers selected from certain places, prisoners captured by the church, or new lives they cultivated themselves.

Most of these test subjects died during the experiments.

Of those still alive, there are probably only three or four left.

Of these three or four people, one is currently being held in custody by the church, while the whereabouts of the other two or three are currently unknown.

When the Holy Son Project was halted, most of the surviving test subjects, who required resources to maintain their vital signs, were abandoned, and their bodies were all disposed of.

A small number of those who can survive independently without resources are adopted into church-run welfare homes for special groups and are subject to supervision.

However, as time went on, these experimental subjects who did not show any talent were basically abandoned, and therefore were no longer valued.

The only response to their concern was a gag order, preventing them from speaking freely. One of them was even seriously injured while at the orphanage, and died before the pastor could receive treatment.

However, recent investigations have revealed some problems with the file; the test subject's autopsy report is somewhat too 'standard'.

The priest who collected the bodies of the test subjects died during a mission sometime in the past. His death was perfectly normal, and no problems were found.

The other two test subjects disappeared suddenly a few years ago.

Preliminary assessment suggests that the two test subjects were subjected to less oversight during those years, leading them to choose to escape.

During the search of their residence, they discovered the two men's escape plan.

However, no matter how hard they tried, they could not find the two test subjects.

The church then stopped expending energy searching for it.

They were just two failed experiments.

The only one who was imprisoned began to have health problems in his daily life. He started biting people, exhibited violent symptoms, and his mental state deteriorated, which is why the church imprisoned him.

So this one, being the only one, became the only one who didn't disappear.

"That's why you have doubts, and why you suspect there are three or four survivors, plus the meticulous and methodical one, and the failed holy son imprisoned by another noble family."

“There are probably five or six surviving test subjects,” Nemus concluded, then glanced around at the surrounding clergy.

The expressions on these people's faces varied; some looked at Naims with ingratiating eyes, while others dared not look at him.

More than anything, they were wary of Naims.

His current role is that of a special investigator.

The investigation will focus on the remnants of Project Son and the fabricated agreement.

However, these two things were separated.

When Nemes was investigating Project Son, some people who were involved in the research at the time needed to cooperate with him.

The group surrounding Nems now consists mostly of the researchers and security personnel from back then.

On the other side of the Fictional Agreement, the main force consists of Emerald and Anelli, while Nemus is more accurately described as an ally against the 'Fictional Demon'.

To provide combat power for Aimelu and the others at crucial moments.

Nemes withdrew his gaze and refocused on the report in front of him.

Among these, those who are meticulous and methodical are trustworthy.

He was Killieman's 'squire,' which was essentially no different from being his personal assistant.

He spends most of his 24 hours a day with Killieman, except for occasional errands that require him to leave temporarily.

In this situation, the likelihood of him causing trouble is very small, and these people will not put him on the suspect list.

Among the remaining people, through continuous investigation, the two experimental subjects who had disappeared from the welfare home were gradually found.

“To be on the safe side, I will also participate in the arrest,” Nems said, standing up. He then glanced again at the many elderly people around him.

"In addition to the test subjects, please also prepare a copy of the files of the researchers who participated in the experiment."

“Nemus, you were born an experimental subject, what right do you have to ask for our files!” Someone immediately decided to object.
