God's imitator

Chapter 329 Basic Rules

Chapter 329 Basic Rules
"Is this the kind of game invitation that copycats would receive?"

"A selection game with everyone participating, and such a high elimination rate?"

"Although our community has a 'get-out-of-jail-free card,' with everyone participating, I basically never get a chance to use it."

"Now that I've been granted the qualifications to be a copycat, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing..."

"Copycats have an extra chance of dying, but they can also participate in the design of the game, planting loopholes in the game or designing rules that they are good at."

"We still need to see what the specific rules are first."

Seeing the stark death rate figures in the invitation, Xu Zhao wasn't too flustered.

Although the player's death rate is calculated in addition to the copycat's death rate, this can be avoided.

It's almost common knowledge that copycats can leave backdoors for themselves in games.

After all, all the rules will be updated in the community after the game ends, and the hidden rules will be fully exposed.

Some of the hidden rules are clearly backdoors left by copycats.

Knowing these hidden rules in advance and having enough information gaps can give you a huge advantage in the game.

The arcade does not prohibit this kind of behavior; in fact, it could be said that the arcade encourages copycats to leave themselves backdoors in the game, as long as they don't go too far. This is a perfectly legitimate privilege.

If Xu Zhao hadn't been given the identity of a copycat, he wouldn't have known that the next game would be a selection game with such a high mortality rate. Without being able to prepare mentally in advance, he would likely have panicked once he entered the game.

Now, he not only knows part of the content in advance, but he can also design a game unit himself.

If you can encounter a unit you designed in the game, your survival rate will definitely increase significantly, and you can at least ensure that you will not be among the bottom 30% of players.

Of course, there are still risks.

But since the arcade had already given him the identity of a copycat, he couldn't refuse and had no choice but to accept it.

Xu Zhao quickly looked at the 'basic rules' of this game. As a copycat, he had to design his own game units under these basic rules.

[Basic Rules]

【I. Matching Mechanism】

The game consists of 12 different game lobbies, each with 20 different players, randomly selected from 20 different communities.

Players from the same community will not appear in the same game lobby.

The game units designed by the copycats will be randomly assigned to different game lobbies in the form of "game rooms."

Each game hall contains six different game rooms, and each imitator's game room is assigned to at least three different game halls.

Players in the lobby can choose any game room to play.

II. Game Room Revenue

Each game room has corresponding chips. Chips from different rooms are not interchangeable.

[Imitators can earn a certain amount of "funds" when designing their own game rooms.]

The funding amount ranges from 3 to 15 minutes of visa time. The more times a player plays in the game room, the more funding is unlocked for that room.

As the game progresses, each game room will receive a corresponding "fund withdrawal limit." Players holding chips in that room will share the withdrawable funds according to the ratio of "chips held / total chips in the room."

[In addition, copycats can choose to invest their own visa time to increase the maximum amount of funds in the game room.]

III. Player Immunity Rules

In the game, players can earn "immunity cards" by accumulating visa time.

There are five "Immunity Cards," presented as "Equipment Cards": Helmet, Chest Armor, Armguards, Leg Armor, and Boots. Each card has a 20% chance of granting immunity to death; collecting all five guarantees 100% immunity.

Duplicate cards do not increase the chance of being immune to death.

Players will receive one card for every 1 minutes of visa time earned in the game, but the specific slot will be random.

At the end of the game, all players will automatically suffer an instant death penalty.

If the number of dead players is less than 30%, players who have earned less visa time in the game will be selected to make up the 30%, and an additional instant-death penalty will be imposed.

IV. Basic Functions of the Lobby

Each player will be assigned an 'auction terminal' in the game lobby.

Players can freely trade items such as "Immunity Cards," "Chips," and "Visa Time" at the auction terminal.

Players can use their existing visa time to purchase items or chips, but can spend a maximum of 2 visa minutes, which is not considered as in-game gain.

V. Rules for Rewarding and Punishing Copycat Offenders

[When designing their own game rooms, copycats are free to use (including but not limited to) the following two methods to earn visa time from players.]

[1. Receive a fixed percentage of the profits earned by players during gameplay.]

[2. When players auction items, they receive a fixed percentage of the "transaction tax," but this only affects items produced in their own game room.]

The rules for playing the game room will be automatically displayed on the screen at the room entrance.

[In addition, copycat offenders are free to choose whether or not to display "commission" and "transaction tax" on the screen. They can choose not to display them, but they cannot display error messages.]

[Chips acquired by copycats through methods such as "rake" or "transaction tax" will be converted into visa time based on the "average exchange rate of room revenue sharing throughout the game," and will be additionally recorded as the copycat's earnings.]

[If the copycat has collected less than 5 minutes of visa time from players in the game by the end of the game, they will suffer an instant death penalty.]

If less than 20% of copycat offenders fail to meet the standard, the remaining 20% will be supplemented based on the amount of profit earned, from lowest to highest.

……

Xu Zhao reviewed these basic rules repeatedly and then drew a preliminary conclusion.

"Therefore, the most important thing for a copycat to survive in this game is to increase their earnings."

"If you can't earn 5 minutes of visa time, you're basically doomed, and even if you do, you might still die."

"Generally speaking, the more money we make from players, the better."

"As for how to make money, you can either 'take a cut' or collect 'transaction tax.' Normally, everyone would use both methods together, right?"

"The key is how to determine these two values."

“Each room will have a budget, um... let me first roughly calculate the corresponding values.”

Xu Zhao took out paper and pen and began to do simple calculations.

Judging from the rules of the game, even if the imitators don't put any money into it themselves, each room still has a budget of 3 to 15 yuan.

Each hall has 6 different game rooms, so the game budget is at least 18 and at most 90.

The difference is still quite large.

Because the funds in the game are unlocked through a certain number of games, not all rooms can reach the maximum limit.

If we use 70% as the approximation, then the cost of each hall can be estimated at around 600,000.
