Chapter 658 Relics of the Gods?

"Why are you all such troublesome saintesses this year?"

Melina looked at Phil's projection and felt both amused and exasperated.

Phil's father, Duke Pharos, was not a radical, but that doesn't mean Melina treated Phil badly.

Although it seems that Celia has a higher probability of success at present, the others, even if they are not saintesses, will be high-level mages in the future. Given Phil's personality, she may not get involved in factional disputes in the future, and no one wants to offend her Holy Priest faction.

Of course, even if she were to join a faction, Melina would not be indifferent.

"So... Archbishop Melina, is that alright?"

Phil asked seriously.

She was referring to sending Celia to the Elf Forest to assist her.

Melina glanced at Celia, who had a half-smile on her face, and felt a headache coming on.

After a moment's hesitation, she said, "Phil, I still suggest you return immediately. The elves won't easily allow the beast tide to raid the city. Given the current situation, they will most likely try to guide the mindless monsters to other places, such as the Protoss Forbidden Lands or our borders. So, come back."

"This one……"

Phil looked conflicted.

After a long pause, she shook her head and refused: "Archbishop Melina, I'm sorry, I have some things to do and cannot leave now."

"Ok."

Melina didn't insist.

Phil does relatively little now, so it won't attract attention. After all, she's a fourth-tier mage, so she doesn't need to worry too much about her safety.

But Celia is different.

Melina looked at Celia and shook her head.

Celia smiled slightly and said, "Bishop Melina, actually, I can go too. As long as I don't deliberately expose myself or cause trouble, it will be difficult for anyone to find me. If it's just secretly helping Phil, I think it's fine, okay?"

Melina retorted irritably, "Do you think you can get away with this without causing trouble?"

"I think I will."

Celia blinked.

She didn't really care whether she went or not.

But she was also curious as to why Phil would suddenly ask someone to come and help.

Moreover, after several changes of personnel, this person eventually became himself.

In fact, Celia already had the answer to this question in her heart.

It's simply what Ross demanded.

But when Ross wasn't speaking, she wasn't sure if that was true or not.

Now, she wasn't sure whether Ross wanted her to come over or not; he didn't say anything.

“I don’t understand why Phil insists on sending Celia into the Elf Forest?” Melina looked at Phil’s projection. “Although I shouldn’t restrict Celia’s freedom, it might be dangerous for her to enter the Elf Forest now. She has been assassinated twice before, and it’s hard to guarantee there won’t be a third time. Phil, if you don’t have a reason to convince me, neither I nor the Holy Lord will allow you to put Celia in danger.”

Phil seemed to be struggling with the decision.

After a long while, she lowered her head slightly and said, "I... discovered a divine relic in the Elf Forest, and I need the help of Celia, who has the blessing of the gods."

"what?"

Melina immediately abandoned her casual demeanor and became serious.

"Are you sure?" Phil hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Could we send someone else?" Melina asked.

Phil looked troubled.

"I'm afraid... that won't work."

"why?"

"I don't know why, just like when I discovered the relics of the gods, it was just a kind of inexplicable feeling... After I came to the Elf Forest, I had a premonition, as if the gods were calling me."

"What does this have to do with the fact that Celia has to go?"

“We needed someone with a high level of divine affinity… Originally, we wanted Benovia to come, but she’s currently helping you purify the pollution and can’t come for an extended period. She said Celia could come, so I found Celia.”

"I see."

Melina nodded; this reason was irrefutable.

Those with a high degree of divine affinity are indeed more likely to be favored by the gods.

This is purely a matter of talent; it cannot be obtained through hard work alone.

Melina was persuaded.

“If it’s a relic of a god, then that’s fine. You stay there and don’t move. I need to consult with the Holy Lord first. The situation is rather complicated right now. We can only offer you and Celia assistance after we’ve discussed it.”

"Okay, then hurry up."

Phil nodded.

Upon learning that it was a relic of the gods, Melina immediately took it seriously.

Everything else is fine, but the relics of the gods are coveted by every empire.

An elven god has emerged as a lucky one, bringing back relics of the gods. The exact nature of these relics is currently unknown, but their effects alone have rapidly enhanced the lucky individual's strength, allowing them to easily claim first place in the Mage League.

This is merely an added benefit of the relics, and only the most superficial one.

All nations have learned of many benefits from the Elven race. For example, the regeneration of the Sacred Tree means that there will be many more high-ranking elven mages in the future.

This alone is enough to make all empires envious.

Unfortunately, this is a rare and precious thing. If the elves hadn't obtained the relics of the Elven God, they probably wouldn't have been able to keep them, and other empires would have found ways to get them long ago, both openly and secretly.

The things of the Elf God are basically limited to the use of only the Elf race. This god, whose name is given to the race, considers all his relics as gifts to the Elf race, but curses to others.

Although Melina didn't know which god Phil was referring to when he mentioned the divine relic, it seemed impossible that the one who could give Phil such revelation could be a god outside of the gods of the Holy Court.

Therefore, Melina was very efficient. She quickly contacted the Holy Lord through emergency communication and then rushed back to Shining City. All twelve archbishops were present and held a secret meeting together.

Afterwards, Melina returned and contacted Phil.

"The Holy Lord has agreed to let Celia go and help you obtain the divine relics. Besides Celia, can anyone else help? For example, the current Saintess Anna, or other bishops with high levels of divine covenant, can they provide you with assistance?"

Phil hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. "There might not be a way to retrieve the relics during the journey, but it should be possible after we obtain them, right?"

“Okay, we’ll find a way to get people into the Elf Forest to protect you and Celia. You two be careful.” Melina nodded.

Celia said, "I guess that divine relic is underground in the Elf Forest. Sixth-tier mages might encounter bad things if they go there, so in the end, we might have to rely on Phil and me."

“I see.” Melina nodded. “Those monsters do have special characteristics. After being hit by the unique attack of a sixth-tier mage, they will try to learn it. Unless absolutely necessary, sixth-tier mages should not be allowed to enter.”
