Chapter 167 A Terrible Combination
Chapter 167 A Terrible Combination
As expected, Draco fell off the skateboard!
He was so engrossed in the scenery that he neglected to control the skateboard. With a violent tremor, he screamed and fell from a height of more than ten meters.
"what!!!"
However, as his pupils contracted and his body passed through the dense foliage, the ground covered with dead leaves and weeds grew larger and larger in his field of vision.
An invisible force suddenly pulled him up, bringing him to a sudden stop when he was less than a meter from the ground!
However, before Draco could even breathe a sigh of relief, the lifting force suddenly vanished again.
Caught completely off guard, he fell face-first onto the grass.
Harry burst out laughing, but before he could finish, he was horrified to find that his prize—the flying skateboard—had shot off uncontrollably like an arrow!
"Come back! Come back!" he shouted anxiously, but the skateboard showed no sign of stopping.
Just as Harry was filled with despair, thinking he was about to lose it completely, Severus waved his wand again and cast a Summoning Charm.
The skateboard suddenly became like an obedient puppy, turning from being out of control back to being compliant, and wobbling back to its original position.
This finally relieved Harry. At his age, he couldn't have his own flying broom, so this skateboard, which he had captured himself, was the only thing that could fulfill his dream of flying.
“Fairies should have their own unique methods of control.” Severus stroked his chin as he handed the skateboard to Harry. “When we visit Mr. Flamel, we should ask him to help us improve this skateboard.”
Draco was still in that face-plant position, his butt sticking out and his face buried in the grass, as if he couldn't accept how embarrassing he looked!
Harry carefully put the skateboard into his bag, then circled Draco with interest, stretching out his leg and gesturing towards Draco's buttocks as if choosing a suitable shooting position.
Of course, he ultimately didn't do anything that would have made Draco fight him to the death.
He simply asked Draco in a drawn-out tone, feigning interest, what he thought of the view from such a high altitude.
How does it feel to fall from the sky?
Is the grass soft enough?
Does grass taste bitter?
Severus and Lupin ignored the two children and took out the wizard's travel tent from a package.
It was prepared in advance in Diagon Alley. Inside, there was a Stretch-Without-Trace Charm that was legally authorized by the Ministry of Magic. It was set up in the shape of an ordinary tent, but once you went inside, it was a large space with four rooms and a living room!
There's even a dedicated kitchen inside.
This tent had to be stored separately and could not be placed in a box that had been enchanted with the Unseen Stretch Charm, so Lupin always carried it alone.
With just a simple securing, they had set up the tent. By this time, Draco had gotten up from the ground, his face flushed red from Harry's teasing, and he wanted to fight Harry.
But before he could react, Harry had already climbed up a fir tree.
Putting aside everything else, escaping and climbing trees are essential survival skills for Harry from childhood; otherwise, he would have been beaten to a pulp by his cousin, the real Dudley.
Draco, of course, couldn't climb trees, so he could only watch Harry helplessly from below. The two of them struggled like this for a long time. Draco angrily called Harry a coward, while Harry mocked him for not even being able to climb a tree.
Harry didn't climb down from the tree again until Lupin, wearing an apron, came out of the tent and called them to prepare dinner, while sending Draco away to gather some firewood.
Once they were actually seated around the dinner table, Draco showed no intention of causing Harry any further trouble.
He still felt ashamed, so he just ate in silence, and even after the meal, when Severus and the others invited him to play cards, he refused, preferring to sit with his knees drawn up in front of the tent, watching the moon. Actually, the moon in the forest wasn't much to see; most of the night sky was obscured by dense foliage, and only through narrow gaps could one glimpse the moonlight.
"Three Js!"
"It's fake, I question it."
"Ah! Lupin must have cheated! He always manages to guess my cards!"
“I don’t cheat because when you lie, your eyes will dart around, and the chances of me having 4 J’s and you having 3 are too low.”
"Ha! Lying is an art, Dudley. Today, your teacher will teach you another lesson. Quick, stick another one on his face!"
Listening to the noisy commotion of Severus and the others playing cards behind him, Draco, chin in hand, staring blankly at the moon, felt a sense of déjà vu.
Just a week ago, he was enjoying a life of luxury at home, a wealthy young master who looked down on everyone except himself.
However, after only a week, he could only sit in the wild forest, on the ground covered with fallen leaves and dead insects, and look at the moon.
He no longer had his parents or the pure-blood playmates who fawned over him. Instead, he had his father's mixed-race friend, a wandering werewolf, and a peer whose origins were unknown but who knew everything about Muggles.
In the past, he clearly looked down on Snape, but now, he actually felt...
I feel like this moment is actually not bad?
Draco looked somewhat bewildered.
He didn't know if he was going crazy or if he had been brainwashed by Severus and his gang, or why he would have such an absurd idea.
Based on his past education, there was clearly no worse environment or companions than what he was in now!
Just then, Harry let out a huge sigh, clearly having lost another round.
"Darry has lost seven in a row. It's time for you to take his place, Draco!"
Behind him, Draco heard Severus's shouts.
He said somewhat reluctantly.
"I don't want to play!"
But his buttocks had already involuntarily moved towards the inside of the tent.
"Hurry up! If Dali keeps losing, there won't be any space left to stick stickers on his face!"
"There's really nothing I can do against you."
Draco muttered something, then dusted himself off and stood up.
As he walked toward the three people whose faces were covered in white paper strips from the card game, a slight smile involuntarily crept onto his lips.
It wasn't as bad as I imagined.
Right.
