Hogwarts: I am Snape
Chapter 54 Cabbage Puppy
Chapter 54 Cabbage Puppy
"Stop hiding, we know you're in there! There are several wands pointed at you, don't think we're afraid to make a move just because we're worried about hurting anyone!"
A piercing shout came from the darkness, and heavy, chaotic footsteps approached from all directions.
Inside the tent, Dumbledore sat steadily, showing no intention of getting up at all.
Seeing the headmaster's reaction, Snape quickly picked up the small bag next to him, rummaged through it with his fingers, and pulled out several small green orbs that emitted a faint green glow.
Without thinking, he strained his arm and threw the little green ball out of the tent.
"Damn it! What is this thing?!" A panicked shout came from outside the tent.
Hearing the commotion outside, even Dumbledore's usually composed eyebrows twitched slightly.
Snape quickly chanted a spell, casting a protective armor spell on himself. A transparent magical shield instantly enveloped him.
Then, he reached out and flung open the tent flap, striding out.
"Help! Get away from me!"
Chaos had broken out outside. Four or five figures were struggling and screaming in agony on the ground, with streaks of magical light flying past every now and then.
The plants Snape had just thrown out have now rapidly unfurled their leaves and are bouncing around wildly, howling. The broad, long barbs on their leaves are constantly opening and closing.
He carefully avoided the blood-soaked battlefield, aiming his wand at a few enemies who were still putting up a fight.
"Expelliarmus! Expelliarmus!" Snape shouted the spell, and two dazzling beams of light shot from the tip of his wand, flying straight toward the enemy.
"Ah, no!" With a desperate cry, the people who had lost their wands were suddenly powerless to resist. In the blink of an eye, they were pounced on by the frenzied plants and fell to the ground, letting out pitiful screams.
Snape easily caught several wands that flew toward him.
Without even glancing at it, he casually tossed the wand to the ground, then lifted his foot and stomped on it. With a few sharp cracks, the delicate little wooden strips snapped in two.
“Professor,” Snape called out, turning to the tent, “you may come out now.”
Dumbledore slowly walked out of the tent, and stared at the chaotic scene before him, speechless for a long time.
After a while, he raised his hand, pointed to the plants stained red with blood, and asked with a puzzled look, "Severus... what is this?"
“Biting cabbage,” Snape replied simply.
"You call this biting cabbage?" Dumbledore's beard seemed to tremble with anger. "Then what do you call biting cabbage?"
“Uh, uh—Professor,” Snape lowered his head shyly, then looked up at Dumbledore with a hint of embarrassment, “this is an improved version; you can call them puppy cabbages if you like.”
"Puppies?" Dumbledore asked suspiciously. "Where did you get all these rabid dogs?"
"Professor, let's deal with these attackers first!" Snape quickly changed the subject, feigning urgency. "If we don't treat their wounds soon, they'll bleed to death!"
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore was so angry that he puffed out his beard and glared, but he still quickly raised his wand.
With a wave of the wand, the crazed cabbages seemed to be propelled by a powerful force, leaping far away.
The attackers were bound together by chains that appeared out of nowhere, rendering them unable to move.
Under Dumbledore's powerful healing magic, the attackers' horrific wounds began to heal at a visible rate.
"My wand!" shouted a monstrous attacker, who had just opened his blood-covered eyes.
"Where are their wands?" Dumbledore turned to Snape and asked.
“Oh, here it is.” Snape pointed to the pile of broken wooden planks on the ground, saying without changing his expression. “Never mind,” Dumbledore seemed to squint and take a deep breath, “Hogwarts certainly didn’t teach you how to be polite in battle.”
Snape pulled a small glass bottle from his robes, smeared some of the colorless liquid inside on himself, and then walked over to the cabbages.
He gently stroked the cabbages with his hand, and they made a soft purring sound and folded their leaves back up.
Dumbledore watched Snape's movements thoughtfully, then waved his wand at the attackers again.
A blinding white light flashed, and the attackers' eyes suddenly became empty and dull. Their furrowed brows slowly relaxed, and their faces showed a dazed and indifferent expression.
Then came a series of dazzling red lights, a strong wind blew across the grass, and the attackers immediately fell into a deep, infantile sleep.
"That was amazing, Professor!" Snape exclaimed, clapping after collecting the cabbages. "You really have to step in!"
“I won’t bother you next time,” Dumbledore said irritably. “If I had come out any later, you would have had more fragments of your soul than Tom did.”
“How could that be? There are fewer than six people.” Snape scratched his head. “I know what I’m doing, Professor. It was Cabbage who did it.”
Dumbledore ignored Snape, raised his wand, and began to walk in a large circle around them, muttering incantations.
As he moved, the surrounding air trembled slightly, as if a layer of heat was rising.
"Alright, now no one will bother us. Let's go in, Severus."
The two then entered the warm tent. Fortunately, the battle ended quickly enough; apart from some trampled flowers at the entrance, the tent remained quiet and peaceful.
A dreamless night.
The sun is rising, and the blue-purple sky hangs high above the surging waves.
Amid the rushing sound of the tide, Snape heard what sounded like people moving around the tent, the sounds muffled and indistinct, as if heard through a thick layer of leather.
He glanced back at the viewing mirror on the table; it was motionless. It didn't seem to be an enemy.
"Professor, someone's here?" he called to Dumbledore.
“Oh, it must be Alastor.” Dumbledore stood up and dispelled the protective magic he had placed around the tent.
A tall figure leaning on a cane appeared before them.
"How come you guys also gave me so many sales figures along the way?" Moody said gruffly as he walked towards the tent.
“Good morning, Alastor,” said Dumbledore. “Put the tents away, Severus. We’ll be off in a bit.”
“Don’t rush,” Moody said, stepping into the tent and picking up a cream cake from the table. “Let me eat something before I go.”
After Moody finished breakfast, Snape packed the tent back into his bag.
Dumbledore had already pulled the black sailboat to the shore.
They boarded the ship one after another.
Under the influence of magic, the sailboat sailed against the wind towards the deep sea.
