Chapter 222 Los Angeles Drug Lords

The two cars were parked side by side in the middle of the intersection, causing a traffic jam. Many drivers were honking their horns frantically, urging them to move quickly.

But Harris, relying on his status as a narcotics officer, was used to acting arrogantly and didn't care about these drivers. He would move his gun towards them and they would have to shut up.

But he dared not point the gun at Luca.

Jack, a lowly patrolman, was unaware of Luca's identity. How could a corrupt cop who frequently maintained close ties with the mob not know?
That's a force far more powerful than those Russians.

Harris learned so much because when the Russians threatened him to pay, they inadvertently mentioned Luka—"If it weren't for the pigeon's love of peace and willingness to spare your life, no amount of money would have mattered!"

This sentence left a deep impression on Harris.

I was unintentionally saved by a single sentence from a pigeon.
But how did Jack, a nobody, get to know such a big shot? And what did Jack do to make Luca stop his car and greet him?
“Mr. Greco,” Harris greeted him politely, not daring to be too forward, “I’m Alonzo Harris from the narcotics unit.”

He then mentioned the Russians, trying to get closer to them, but Luca didn't even glance at him, instead looking at Jack with curiosity.

"Do you police officers smoke marijuana yourselves?"

As Luca casually remarked, Harris suddenly felt a surge of inexplicable fear. He didn't know why, but he had the feeling of a mouse seeing a cat.
Luca chuckled inwardly. His anti-drug ambassador aura was meant for drug dealers and addicts, so for it to work on Harris, a narcotics officer, was undoubtedly a rather darkly humorous thing.

Jack, holding the pipe, looked embarrassed. He had indeed wanted to take a puff to keep his job, but being caught in the act made him feel inexplicably ashamed.

"actually."

"Officer Hoyt, you've surprised me a bit."

"I didn't smoke."

As if by some strange twist of fate, or perhaps it was the aura of being an anti-drug ambassador that worked, after a struggle with his conscience, Jack's desire to use drugs vanished. He put down his pipe and returned it to Harris.

"If this is also part of the training day assessment, I would rather not have a grade for this lesson."

Upon seeing this, Luca's expression was inscrutable.

In the original storyline, Jack was forced to smoke marijuana.

Although this stuff may become legal in some US states in the future, it is still a prohibited substance for now, so it is still within the scope of the anti-drug halo.

"Training day?" Luca asked wryly. "Officer Hoyt, have you been transferred to the narcotics unit?"

Jack was still a little embarrassed. "Today is the first day."

Luca then looked at Harris, whose stats appeared before him. Harris was also from "Training Day," a B-rank character with skills related to drug dealers. Despite being a drug ambassador, Luca had no interest in him.

“Officer Harris, right? Jack is one of the few cops I know in Los Angeles. He’s helped me a lot. As his superior, you should give him a good run for his money.”

Jack was taken aback, not expecting Luca to speak up for him.

Harrison became suspicious and uncertain. Did Jack have this kind of connection behind him?
Luca glanced at the gun in Harris's hand and continued, "Someone doesn't want to smoke marijuana, and you're forcing him to do it at gunpoint? No wonder there are so many drug addicts in Los Angeles. You narcotics officers are pointing guns at people and making them smoke."

A casual remark sent a chill down Harris's spine. He quickly tried to smooth things over with a laugh, "It was just a joke I made with my new colleague, right, Jack? Nobody's forcing you if you don't want to smoke."

Jack: "."

You had a gun pointed at my head, and now you're saying it was just a joke?

But after all, he was his boss. No matter how stubborn Jack was, he knew he couldn't afford to offend his boss too much, otherwise his hard-won opportunity would really be lost.

He also offered his explanation, and when Harris saw Luca's meaningful gaze, his heart skipped a beat, as if he had been seen through completely.

"In that case, I won't disturb your work any longer."

Luca turned to Brian beside him and said, "Drive, let's go, don't block the middle of the road."

You stopped a conflict between two narcotics officers, upholding police peace.

After watching Luca's car drive away, Harris finally came to his senses, still feeling bewildered.

Is it a coincidence? Or did Lucat come specifically to find Jack?
"Jack, are you and Luca very close?"

"."

Jack didn't know how to answer. If he said they weren't close, the other person had been very welcoming. When he returned the car that day, the other person had invited him to come to their home for a chat and some water, but he declined, citing work as the reason.

I ran into them again on the street today, and they even helped me out of an awkward situation.

He thought for a moment and gave a brief explanation of how he returned the car, but Harris persisted and kept asking until he got to the recent robbery of the truck drivers' union.

He had heard a little about this matter; it was Vincent who was in charge of handling it, not Harris.

"You're a lucky kid, managing to catch Luca the Pigeon's eye." Harris teased, seeing his bewildered expression. "Do you even know who he is?"

"The president of the truck drivers' union."

"He's a Mafia boss, the biggest Mafia boss in the US right now, with businesses all over the East and West coasts." Harris couldn't understand why Luca would take a liking to Jack.

Just because I went to return a car?

If a car can win Luca's friendship, then Harris wouldn't mind giving Luca a few; he'd grit his teeth and scrape together a few cars!

Spending 100 million to appease Luka is more worthwhile than paying ransom to the Russians, isn't it? As long as Luka is willing to protect me, the Russians would never dare to lay a hand on me.

So now it seems I should treat Jack better?

"Is he a Mafia boss?" Jack asked in surprise. "I had no idea beforehand. I thought he was just the chairman who lived in Beverly Hills."

"Here's a suggestion: it won't hurt to deal with Lucado in the future."

"I'm a police officer."

"Police? If you want to protect the sheep, you'll have to become a wolf! Sheep can't protect sheep, only wolves can!"

On the other side, Brian drove around with Luca for a bit, then circled back to where Jack and Harris were not far behind.

"Old Pigeon, are we just going to follow them like this?"

"Let's follow along for now."

Luca didn't hide anything from Brian, explaining, "Harris is connected to a major drug lord in Los Angeles. We should be able to find some clues from him."

"Drug lord?"

Brian thought back to the massive drug bust in New York years ago, and how he had even rammed his car into a Japanese drug smuggling vehicle.

Old Pigeon seems to have a peculiar obsession with drug enforcement.

"Old Pigeon, are we going to crack down on drug lords in Los Angeles?"

"Just give it a try."

Luca nodded.

My title skill still needs to be upgraded. This is my most core skill, and I need to keep upgrading it.

This advancement requires resolving five medium-to-large-scale incidents. Luca calculated that the truck robbery probably wouldn't count as a major problem; only taking down the drug lord would qualify as one.

With the aura of an anti-drug ambassador, which is most effective against drug lords, he'll definitely target them.

Luca didn't plan to leave Los Angeles empty-handed this time.

One task is to deal with the truck robbers, and the other is to take down the drug lords here to level up my skills.

After completing these two core tasks, we will leave Los Angeles.

Upon hearing Luca's plan, Brian asked curiously, "Have the drug lords here offended you?"

Luca smiled without saying a word. "Don't ask any more questions. In short, the drug lords here are finished. Hurry up and follow them, don't lose them."

The two followed him all the way to a community.

Luca watched the two walk into a house.

There lived Harris's informant, who was also a major drug lord in the original storyline. However, in order to raise the ransom, Harris personally killed him, even though the other party considered him a friend.

Now that we have the address, things will be much easier.

Just as Luca was about to leave, a motorcycle came into view, with a very sexy woman sitting on it.

When she took off her helmet, Luca couldn't help but chuckle.

It seems there's more than one drug lord I'm looking for.
