Star Wars: From the Clone Wars to Starfaring Heroes

Chapter 120-121 Anti-Jedi Robot Mass Production Plan

Chapter 120-121 - Anti-Jedi Robot Mass Production Plan
Supervisor Angbrugg could find no reason to refuse.

Raine could even imagine how the other industrial guilds within the separatist sphere of influence would be green with envy if they knew about this proposal.

To reach an exclusive agreement with this highly decorated and prestigious Pantora man?

Even if the profit per transaction is reduced, the resulting boost in prestige and advertising effect will be enough to make up for all the losses.

Moreover, the Technology Alliance itself is a huge business guild association, and the overseer, Angbrak, is just one of its countless branch managers.

The agreement promises to give priority to his branch in procurement and to other factories in the technology alliance under the same conditions, which means that their orders will be continuous.

In reality, the real challenge lies in whether this fledgling industrial park can quickly increase its production capacity to meet the explosive demand.

“We plan to establish more branches in neighboring star sectors,” Unbrage casually remarked as they walked toward an observation deck overlooking the massive droid parade ground below. “After this war, Little Landilian is poised to rise as a new foundry for the Confederacy.”

Rein glanced sideways at the Skako beside him, who was completely encased in steel armor. "You seem quite certain about this prospect?"

“We need to attract investors,” Ambrugge said pragmatically. “We need to launch a new product that is eye-catching enough.”

“Moore Danto has already spoken to me about his project,” Ryan revealed. “General Tann has approved their initial research funding.”

“Dantor? He’s a dreamer. The entire R&D department is filled with this kind of unrealistic mentality,” Ambrugg’s jaw armor made a disdainful scraping sound. “What we need is something practical, something that can be quickly brought to market and generate profits… I have two more feasible solutions.”

"You want the General's office to approve two more new projects at the same time, Inspector?" Ryan chuckled, a hint of teasing in his voice. "Your appetite and negotiation skills are truly refreshing and unique."

"That so-called 'Tann Railgun' project may not see any practical application for at least a hundred years. Promoting a purely theoretical research project that is ethereal and has no commercial value," Onbrak said bluntly. "What we need now is something that can immediately cause a sensation and make money..."

They walked to the metal railing of the observation deck.

Below, on the wide field, two rows of BX series Commando Droids stood in neat formation.

These robots are significantly more agile and robust than the standard B1 Battle Droid.

They are equipped with heavy armor plates, reinforced joints and servo systems, and their structural strength and mobility far exceed any mass-produced combat robot that Rein knows of.

More importantly, their upgraded cognitive matrix and tactical programming make them an excellent choice for carrying out infiltration, sabotage, or serving as elite vanguard assault teams.

Based on the data on paper, the BX series is undoubtedly the best among them.

However, at this moment, these robots were not covered in shiny titanium-reinforced steel armor as depicted in the promotional materials, but rather in a deep, almost matte black metal.

Its surface appears to absorb ambient light.

Renn recognized the unique material at a glance.

He had seen it elsewhere. Beskar alloy.

Mandalo Iron.

Interestingly, he saw Vinok and Barris carefully examining the joints and armor seams of the robots below.

"Besca woven armor plates?" Renn asked, his tone inquisitive.

“Armor plates cast from pure Besca alloy.” Angbrugg’s voice was filled with pride.

Renn shook his head, indicating his skepticism, and pointed out the key issue directly: "They wouldn't last an hour on a real battlefield; this metal is too brittle."

“They weren’t designed for a protracted war,” the supervisor clenched his metal fist, his knuckles making a slight hydraulic sound. “My product development team consulted Commander Vinok two months ago. As far as I know, he was a Jedi Knight… His professional assessment was that the best application for Bescar alloy is to form special operations teams specifically for hunting down Jedi Knights.”

Ryan immediately understood the logic behind it...

Bescar is an extremely rare and expensive metal, and its mining and refining processes are extremely dangerous.

Untreated raw Besca ore could even poison the Hutts upon skin contact.

Although it possesses almost legendary resistance to energy weapons such as blast beams and lightsabers, its lack of physical toughness poses a problem for its practicality.

Forming a highly skilled hunting squad can maximize the effectiveness of limited Beska resources and achieve the strategic value of "one-hit kill".

But for Umbrian, the more important business consideration was that packaging these robots as "Jedi killers" would inevitably attract the attention of Confederate frontline commanders.

If even one or two such assault teams could successfully confront or kill a few Jedi on the battlefield, even if they were just ordinary warriors, then every Confederate frontline general would yearn to have such an elite "anti-Jedi" force.

Even though Jedi don't appear in every battle, the prestige and deterrent power of having a special forces unit capable of fighting them is enough to make frontline generals willingly open their wallets.

With his arms crossed, Ryan looked down at Vinok and whispered something to Baris before the two turned and left the testing area.

He then turned to Unbrak and asked directly, "What conditions do you need to start mass production of these 'Jedi Killer' robots?"

“We need exclusive mining rights to the Besca mine in the Barcrofson system,” Onbrak leaned forward slightly, closer to Rein, clearly taking his question as a strong signal of cooperation. “My exploration probes have detected unusually rich Besca vein signals on the planet Bardennik and deep within the asteroid belt of that system.”

“The Barcrofson system is located in the Auriel sector,” Ryan immediately pointed out the problem, his tone slightly amusement. “Mining rights there are subject to extremely stringent economic regulations from the ‘Auriel Business Community,’ which clearly favor small local mining companies and are very unfriendly to large foreign conglomerates… Unless you can partner with a local giant like the Lorona Corporation, you simply cannot obtain a mining permit… So, this means you can’t bypass Moore Danto and his Lorona Corporation.”

The respirator beneath the Ambrugg metal visor emitted a muffled hiss. "...I understand."
