Chapter 318 The Fallen Creator

It should be said that the [Genesis Chessboard] is a very vast plane, so much so that players' teleportation points are often located all over the world.

As Lin Bo crossed the teleportation channel, he was pricked in the palm by the sharp awns on the golden wheat ears that came towards him. He looked around and found himself in a large field of late autumn wheat that had already ripened. A deep purple spacetime vortex stirred up turbulent currents and crushed a small patch of straw.

Iron Guardian's elite mechanical guards stood ramrod straight beside Lin Bo. The mage's body was massive and tall, and the towering golden wheat waves could only submerge his legs. Not far away, the human farmers buried under the waves of wheat straightened their backs and had to look up to see the giant's skull mask.

Farmers, armed with sickles, bare-chested, with tanned, hairy, and cracked skin covered in sunburnt marks, and thin but with strong muscles, could become excellent candidates for soldiers, provided they could consume enough nutrition.

Lin Bo ignored the farmers' screams and cries of fear, and looked up at the azure sky.

The sun, suspended in the sky, radiated a bright yet gentle, intense light. To the mage, these rays murmured dragon language, telling of their origin from the ocean of positive energy beyond the world, a warm and radiant magical power.

As for the sun, it is not a celestial body, but a well, a spacetime wormhole, a hole in a boundary membrane.

The warm magical light shone through the courtyard, illuminating the world. As a result, plants grew and all things thrived. Even the serfs who had been exploited by landlords and nobles to the point of hunger and cold had good muscles.

Lin Bo sighed slightly, thinking how comfortable such a world was for spellcasters, like fish returning to water or birds escaping their cages.

He removed his mask and gazed at the primordial magnetic field that enveloped the earth, which was like a transparent eggshell, yet extremely deep, filtering out harmful rays from beyond the heavens.

These radiations did not come from the sun, but from the void. The space in this world did not seem to be a vacuum environment, but rather a vast ocean of magical energy with some kind of shadow attribute.

The Earth's magnetic field is constantly subjected to radiation disturbances, and geomagnetic storms occur frequently, making satellite communication based on electromagnetic waves unusable.

Lin Bo reached out to feel the wind, the soil, the rough skin of the heavy wheat ears, and listened to the murmuring ancient language of nature, which told the story of this land, the rain clouds piling up in the distance, the rotting bones of the battlefield, and the cacophony of voices in the city.

Unbeknownst to them, a large number of timid and curious serfs, young, middle-aged and old, men and women, had gathered around the monk. They believed that this giant was a ruler of high status, so they knelt quietly on both sides, their cheeks pressed to the ground, not daring to look directly at the giant's body.

"Beep beep." Iron Guard issued a notification sound.

Lin Bo withdrew his gaze from the distance and looked down at the kneeling crowd. He squatted down and pressed down on the shoulders of these serfs, feeling their physical structure. They had signs of overwork, but they weren't too serious. The biggest problem was malnutrition; their shrunken stomachs contained very little digestive matter.

They all secretly hid some food on their bodies. Some had bread hidden in their pockets, while others secretly ate ears of wheat. Their tongues were pricked and bled, and the husks of the wheat filled their stomachs, but they could not digest it for a long time. They would only vomit it out when they got home and share it with their relatives.

The serfs trembled at his touch, inhaling the burning yet cool scent emanating from the monk, their thoughts racing like their trembling backs.

Walking along the ridge of the field, the overseer, carrying a long leather whip, called out: "Hey! Sir over there! Where are you from? If you're going to the city, head north, and you'll see me after you cross that slope!"

Lin Bo quietly learned the local language. The foreman's pronunciation had a strong slang flavor, probably unsuitable as teaching material to promote to other players.

Establishing a foothold and building a faction in a dungeon as an outsider is no easy task.

However, nowadays, most players on the online platform know how to expand their influence in the real world. Therefore, when it comes to managing territory and cultivating power, they are definitely experts, just with different methods.

The maximum time you can stay in a dungeon is ninety days. Three months may seem like a long time, but it actually passes by in the blink of an eye when it comes to production activities.

The Chaos Invasion event will officially begin the day after players enter the instance, so every second counts.

Lin Bo did not intend to recruit soldiers locally, so he did not bother to contact the local ruling class.

He rose and weaved through the crowd and wheat fields, gently tapping the two seagulls beside him, transforming them into beans and collecting them in his pouch. He then soared into the sky, hurtling towards the heavens. His body accelerated relentlessly, soon breaking the sound barrier with a deafening roar. A shockwave swept across his face, his skin tightening slightly. He held his breath, then slowed down after a moment.

He was now tens of kilometers above the ground, and looking down at the horizon, he could already see a slight curve.

This is a spherical world, with vast oceans embracing the land, ice and snow covering the poles, and islands scattered across the sea like thousands of stars.

Lin Bo cruised along the sky, looking down at the earth's surface, carefully searching for areas rich in biomass. Next, he would spread all-purpose bacteria. Areas with abundant vegetation and water sources were suitable for mycelial growth, and it would be best if there were volcanic terrain to facilitate the collection of raw materials for refining mushroom oil.

A few hours later, he found his target: a tropical rainforest near the equator, located in an earthquake zone, where active volcanoes still exist.

Lin Bo was not in a hurry to descend, but continued to explore the sky.

Even at an altitude of 1,000 kilometers, reaching the edge of the atmosphere, the daytime sky in his eyes was still a clear blue.

This is the boundary membrane of the prime material plane, which has infinite thickness, meaning it is impossible to directly enter space by means of flight.

Lin Bo flew horizontally again, arriving at the boundary between the day and night hemispheres. When the sun in the sky set below the curved horizon, the sky was no longer filled with radiant magic energy, and the colorless and transparent boundary membrane clearly reflected a purple-black void.

The stars seemed to be immersed in a thick ocean of void, but these starlights were clearly radiant magical energy, which meant that the stars in this world were actually just holes in the membrane of the sky.

The mage gazed into the dark void between the stars, where shadowy magic emanating from the void emitted a deep, dark radiation, murmuring sinister and twisted words of corruption.

The prime material plane is enveloped by the void, like a black cloth covering an egg, while the light plane is like a white cloth covering the void, forming a three-layered nested structure.

The void of this world is dangerous; it is the source of all dark magic. Creatures favored by the night are twisted by evil forces, becoming extreme, bizarre, and generally bloodthirsty and cruel.

When Lin Bo was investigating the true name of light, he used a giant clam shell orb from the shadow plane. The shadow magic it emitted spoke in dragon language, which was clean, pure and harmless.

The void energy in this realm is different; direct exposure will cause dark erosion damage. Without the planetary magnetic field to block void radiation, the surface would be utterly barren.

The mage listened silently, feeling the hatred of the void's demonic energy, and slowly savoring the source of this twisted and evil power.

The shadows confided in him, telling him stories of the world's origins.

The absolute spirit of the universe split in two, one half becoming the realm of light, and the other half falling into the void. The two forces were evenly matched, yet they were eager to merge. In order to understand themselves, they created the prime material plane and gave birth to intelligent beings.

All spirits are born of light and die in darkness, thus reconciling the conflict between light and darkness.

However, when a large number of souls gathered in the void, they attracted covetous beings from beyond the world. Chaotic demons from distant lands invaded and completely distorted the souls of the void.

The underworld is no longer a place of rest for souls, but a paradise ravaged by evil spirits.

The Chaos Fiends manipulate the timeline, causing the void to be corrupted from its very beginning. They repeatedly await the creation of light and darkness, then repeatedly harvest the prime material plane.

To end this cycle of terror, the Soul of the Light called for reinforcements from the entire network. Now, they have arrived.

Lin Bo emerged from his meditative silence. He now knew that the source of this world's destruction was the Chaos Demon, a fallen creator. There was no other way to save it from its inevitable doomsday fate but to fight its way to Heaven.
