Chapter 108 Ending
With a muffled "thud," the sharp blade pierced through Jason's palm, and with its remaining force, pinned his left hand firmly to the carotid artery in his neck. Blood immediately seeped from the wound, flowing down his neck and into his collar.
Jason regained consciousness amidst excruciating pain. He clearly heard the "slicing" sound of the blade tearing through muscle, followed by a sharp, piercing pain in his neck.
His legs suddenly lost their strength. Although his vision returned, the world in front of him was shrouded in a dark red filter. Even the outline of the man opposite him was stained with blood, like a demon crawling out of hell.
He staggered backward, his back slamming heavily against a rusty oil drum. His body slid uncontrollably down the drum's side, finally collapsing onto the cold concrete floor. Blood flowed continuously from his pierced hands and neck, pooling into a horrifying puddle on the ground.
Beta gasped for breath, then strode over to the dying man. She meticulously examined every possible hiding place for a weapon, from his trousers and groin to his waist and armpits.
In the end, all they got was a crumpled driver's license.
Beta opened the blood-stained driver's license. The man in the photo was now slumped against an oil drum, slumped in a pool of blood.
Beta crouched down and held up his driver's license in front of the other person: "Jason Bourne?"
Jason's left hand was pinned to his carotid artery with a butterfly knife, the blade precisely wedged between the vessel walls. This was a deliberate control of Beta's force, allowing the blade to penetrate the artery and create pressure without completely severing the blood vessel.
In this bizarre posture, as long as he remains still, this man can still cling to life for another ten minutes or so.
Beta lowered his gaze. The name on the driver's license was still clearly visible amidst the mottled bloodstains. He repeated the name again: "Jason Bourne."
Beta gently stroked the name printed in gold foil with her fingertips.
Jason Bourne did not answer.
He simply slumped in the pool of blood, his eyes, which were gradually losing focus, fixed on Beta. His gaze held a mixture of resigned calm and a sense of relief, but not a trace of fear.
His breathing became increasingly rapid, and a gurgling sound came from his throat as fresh blood churned in his trachea. His body began to twitch slightly uncontrollably, and his head swayed weakly from side to side.
Beta waited quietly for more than ten seconds, but in the end, all he got was silence.
He casually tossed the blood-stained driver's license on the ground and slowly leaned closer to the dying man.
"Fuck you!"
Beta suddenly pulled out the butterfly knife that had pinned Jason's left hand to his carotid artery.
"Pfft-"
Under the blazing summer sun of New York, a crimson mist of blood erupted.
Scalding blood splattered onto the rusty oil drum, bringing this life-or-death duel to a final close.

Spain, 2:50 AM.
Medvedeva led her makeshift team to infiltrate the vineyard where the jackals were hiding. Through the eerie green light of their night-vision goggles, the entire estate glowed fluorescent in the moonlight.
Rows of neat grapevines stretched from the entrance of the estate into the darkness. The night breeze rustled through the vines, creating phosphorescent green ripples in the night vision goggles.
The team members split up and, using the grapevines as cover, approached the manor's main building.
When they were less than fifty meters from the manor villa, Medvedeva first spotted a blurry figure in her night vision goggles. It was a member of Bianca's team responsible for perimeter security.
Medvedeva raised the rifle fitted with a silencer.
Three muffled thuds echoed as three bursts of fire pierced through the gaps in the grape trellis, and the figures in the distance fell to the ground, disappearing into the green field of vision of the night vision goggles.
The navigator slightly turned her head, observing the traveler through her night-vision goggles. Her expression remained stern, and her breathing was perfectly steady. The squad continued to move through the shadows of the grape trellis, the fallen sentry acting as if he had never existed; the only sound in the silent manor was the rustling of the night wind through the vines.
As the squad approached the villa, a burst of rapid gunfire erupted from inside the building. First came the sharp crack of a single pistol shot, followed by short bursts of retaliatory fire from two rifles.
The gunshots came and went quickly, and in an instant, the entire villa returned to deathly silence.
Medvedeva gestured, and the team immediately formed a formation outside the villa's main entrance, with the team members taking their positions.
Medvedeva held up three fingers and began a silent countdown in the night breeze.
Three, two, one.
As the last finger was retracted, the team pushed open the slightly ajar oak door. Two team members rushed in first, their gun barrels sweeping across the room in a crisscross pattern, followed closely by Medvedeva, her eyes scanning every dark corner of the hallway.
Bianca's six-man squad was scattered throughout the villa. The first member who was initially on guard duty outside had been eliminated, and the remaining five were still active inside the villa.
As the squad advanced into the villa's living room, they found a member of Bianca's squad standing there. Medvedeva decisively raised her gun and fired, both bullets hitting their target.
The squad began their search, with the navigator sealing off the stairwell and on alert for potential enemies descending from the second floor. Zebra advanced towards the open kitchen area. Monkey was responsible for searching the other rooms on the first floor, while Medea moved towards the passageway leading to the rear garden.
When Medvedeva pushed open the glass door to the garden, she spotted a blurry figure among the trees in the distance, clearly another sentry planted by the enemy.
She fired three shots in quick succession, taking down the figure.
Suddenly, a deafening shotgun blast erupted from the stairwell.
"Boom!"
A loud gunshot echoed through the empty living room. Medvedeva immediately turned around, lowered her body, and quickly moved towards the stairwell with her gun in hand.
She had just reached the corner of the corridor.
"Boom!"
The second shot hit, the lead bullet slamming into the corner of the wall, sending shards of stone flying. Even after Medvedeva was forced back into cover, the shrill whistling of the shot still echoed in her ears.
At the same time, a series of urgent shouts came from upstairs. Bianca's people had obviously discovered the unidentified armed men who had entered downstairs.
Medvedeva quickly peeked out and then pulled back, seeing the navigator hiding behind a support column, urgently treating a wound on his left arm with a tourniquet. Although he was injured, it was clearly not fatal.
Throughout the operation, Medvedeva's team maintained silence. This silence, ironically, became an advantage, preventing the three enemies upstairs from determining the exact number of people downstairs.
Bianca's cold, hard voice came from the second floor: "Hold the stairs! They don't have many of them!"
Zebra emerged from the kitchen flank and positioned himself in a blind spot at the stairwell. He pulled the trigger, and a burst of short, sharp shots suppressed the shotgun fire at the stairwell.
"boom!"
A dark figure fell from the second-floor platform, landing heavily not far from Medvedeva. Medvedeva decisively raised her gun, aimed at him, and fired two more bullets to ensure the threat was completely eliminated.
By this point, Bianca's six-man squad had lost four members, with only two remaining to put up a last-ditch effort, including Bianca herself.
