Chapter 221 Xuan Yang expounds on the Dao of Immortality, the Law Forms the Taiji
After Master Xuan Yang's explanation

Li Wushou's understanding of the Dao of Immortality undoubtedly progressed by leaps and bounds.

Cultivation begins with refining Qi, which involves drawing innate spiritual energy into the body, allowing the physical body to return to its original state, and breathing in and out spiritual power.

The subsequent Foundation Establishment and Golden Core stages were similar to what Li Wushou knew.

However, the so-called self-law was not as complicated as Li Wushou thought.

Master Xuanyang explained that the essence of this statement is actually to explain the distinction between the inner and outer golden elixir.

The Self-Cultivation Method, as the name suggests, is a method of cultivating one's own Qi.

It actually corresponds to the Qi in Jing, Qi, and Shen!

The Golden Elixir achieved by fusing one's own essence, energy, and spirit into one, without relying on external objects, is called the Inner Golden Elixir!
However, because a single type of Qi is weak, cultivators who want to form an inner golden core usually cultivate two Qi refining methods.

However, this is not absolute. Some people cultivate only one Qi-refining method, such as extreme Yin or extreme Yang.

Alternatively, other non-opposing Qi cultivation methods, as long as they integrate one's own essence, Qi, and spirit, are collectively referred to as internal methods of Golden Elixir.

It's just that cultivating the inner method of the Golden Elixir, which involves opposing two forces, is more distinctive.

Moreover, the number of laws one possesses is hardly a true reflection of one's full strength.

There are many cases where a single law is strong; it mainly depends on an individual's understanding and application of the law.

Conversely, in the process of integrating essence, energy, and spirit, external forces are used. For example, external alchemy, which involves absorbing the essence of heaven and earth to replenish one's own essence and energy, is called an external method golden elixir.

External Golden Elixir is still a Golden Elixir, and it can also grant a long lifespan.

However, Xuan Yang's understanding of external alchemy is similar to that of Master Fu Feng in his previous book on external alchemy.

Everyone believes that external alchemy also points directly to the Great Dao, but human power is limited!

At this moment, Li Wushou asked Xuan Yang a question.

"Are all external alchemy methods about replenishing oneself by borrowing the essence of heaven and earth? Are there any methods that borrow the spirit of heaven and earth to replenish oneself?"

Master Xuan Yang was also taken aback by the question. After a moment of contemplation, he replied:

"Among essence, energy, and spirit, spirit is the foundation. One replenishes oneself by absorbing the essence of heaven and earth and merging it. After this, one's body may be somewhat different from that of an ordinary person, but in essence, the spirit is still oneself. If one borrows the spirit of heaven and earth and merges it into one's own body, is one still oneself?"

After speaking, Master Xuan Yang glanced at Li Wushou somewhat embarrassedly.

He thought Li Wushou was deliberately targeting him, because he had indeed intended to devour Li Wushou's soul and take over his body.

Li Wushou was unaware of Xuan Yang's thoughts; he was still preoccupied with the matter of borrowing the gods!

After a long silence, Li Wushou finally spoke up and asked Xuan Yang about the Nascent Soul and Deity Transformation.

The Nascent Soul True Lord possesses a soul like that of an infant, capable of leaving the body and controlling the power of heaven and earth within a radius of a hundred miles. He has just begun to understand the power of the void and can roam freely in the void.

At this moment, the soul belongs to Yin and the body belongs to Yang. The soul cannot be separated from the nourishment of the body for a long time. Otherwise, it will either transform into a Yin spirit of the divine path or gradually dissipate.

Building upon this foundation, the next step is to reach the Divine Transformation stage!

The powerful being of the Divine Transformation level underwent another transformation, with Yin and Yang merging into one. The essence of the physical body began to flow into the divine soul, allowing the divine soul to exist outside the body for an extended period.

Their control over the power of heaven and earth is more refined, and they can gather the power of heaven and earth to form a Dharma body. This is different from the Dharma body of Yin gods and the like. Their combat power is extremely terrifying, capable of moving mountains and filling seas.

Those with even greater talent can open their divine apertures and create a world; with the power of that world, their power is boundless.

At this point, although the soul can remain outside the body, the physical body is equally important because it relates to the next realm, which is the Great Venerable Yang God!
After the soul of a Transformation God absorbs all the power of the physical body, it grows into a form similar to the physical body. At this point, the foundation for entering the Yang God Grand Venerable stage is achieved.

As for how he entered Xuan Yang Shangren's circle, he didn't know, since he had already suffered a setback.

Xuan Yang Shangren had no idea what lay above the Great Venerable Yang Shen, only guessing that it might be an immortal.
His soul and flesh had evolved, and he had initially completed the fusion of Yin and Yang. It could be said that he had already entered the realm of the God of Deification, but he ultimately failed, resulting in his current state of being a half-step God of Deification.

Moreover, because his physical body was depleted, he could no longer absorb the essence of blood and flesh to help his soul grow, which also meant that his path to becoming a Yang God was basically cut off.

That's why he thought of possessing another body to start over. His original plan was to take over Li Wushou's body, leave the dojo, and find an opportunity to sever the deity transformation trait from his soul and start over.

Hearing this, Li Wushou finally gained a clearer understanding of the path of immortality, but at the same time he was also puzzled: were the Yang God Grand Venerable of the immortal path and the Pure Yang of the divine path the same thing?
Master Xuanyang was equally puzzled when he heard Li Wushou's question.

It wasn't that he didn't know the answer to the question, but rather that he was somewhat confused about Li Wushou's situation.

In his understanding, Li Wushou was either a super genius of some force, which would explain his innate divine abilities, and that these abilities were protected by a powerful figure.

Either Li Wushou himself was a highly skilled person, which would explain the presence of the cosmos within his divine aperture, and the many mysteries associated with it.

The so-called Three Immortals Pavilion suggests that the other party might be one of the Three Immortals!

Especially after witnessing Chen Gou'er's unintentional display of physical abilities while playing with him, Master Xuanyang became more inclined to believe that Chen Gou'er was one of the Three Immortals.

Not to mention the old beggar-looking man who always looked at him with a smile; every time the old man looked at him, he felt like he was being placed on a chopping board.

However, the other party seems to be quite unclear about these basic common sense facts.

Seeing Li Wushou raise an eyebrow and look at him with some doubt, Master Xuanyang quickly composed himself. Who cares who he is? He can't escape anyway. As long as I don't have to play with a naked child.

So he composed himself and continued answering the questions.

Through the other party's explanation, Li Wushou learned that the divine path in the world today had been emasculated by the immortal sects.

Not only is the refining of incense sticks hampered, but the path to advancement in the divine realm has also become obscured.

Nowadays, earth gods like Liu Qingmei, the City God, are basically yin gods who have shed their physical bodies, but the Dragon King in the Hengyang River is also an earth god and has not been promoted to a celestial god.

The difference in strength between the two is enormous. This is only when Liu Qingmei is compared to the Dragon King. If it were an ordinary City God, the difference would be even greater!
A local deity, such a vast span!

It basically spans the stages from Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul in the Immortal Path.

While the Dragon King's physical body being consumed by incense offerings certainly played a part, the greater reason lies in the chaos of the divine system. Therefore, when making a comparison according to common sense, the Yin spirit refining a trace of pure Yang in the divine path is actually similar to the Xuan Yang Master transforming a trace of flesh and blood within his soul; both are processes of Yin and Yang working together.

Therefore, the pure yang in the divine way mostly corresponds to the transformed spirit in the immortal way.

However, in the current divine path, even if you have refined a trace of pure yang, without elevating yourself to the status of a celestial god, you have only the realm and no incense offerings. You are still no match for a Nascent Soul True Monarch, and you are not even as good as some Nascent Soul True Monarchs.

Therefore, the current strength of the gods must be considered in conjunction with both their realm and the amount of incense offerings they receive to make a meaningful comparison.

Li Wushou nodded in realization. For a long time, he had been cultivating the path of immortality by piecing together bits and pieces from here and there. When he encountered an insurmountable obstacle, the old beggar would ask for help again.

After communicating with Master Xuanyang, he finally understood the treatment of the immortal disciples described in Wu Zhuangyuan's stories.

Is this what it feels like to be taught by a renowned teacher?
that's nice!

Open the two scrolls of Taoist scriptures on the stone table: "Yin Yang" and "Tai Chi".

The so-called Yin-Yang Daoist Scripture was actually written by Master Xuanyang himself based on his Qi Refining Method. Overall, this scripture is similar to the Yin Refining Technique for Divine Officials given by Liu Qingmei.

However, the Yin-Yang Dao Scripture is even more ruthless, as it will eventually parasitize the mind of Xuan Yang Shangren, turning him into his puppet.

This Taiji Daoist Scripture is the true method practiced by Master Xuanyang!

According to Master Xuan Yang, this method was obtained from a relic at sea when he was young, and it can directly lead to the transformation of spirit.

When Li Wushou heard this, he curled his lip!

It seems that not everyone who has a fortuitous encounter is a protagonist. Xuan Yang Shangren has fallen to such a state; he doesn't look like a protagonist at all.
Clearly, Li Wushou was still resentful about not having encountered the extraordinary experience of eating Wu Zhuangyuan as described in the story.

But as long as he has the bigger fist, won't this Tai Chi Dao Scripture still be his? And who dares to say it wasn't a stroke of luck?
After Master Xuanyang explained the Taiji Dao Jing twice, Li Wushou also read it twice himself.

Now he has a basic understanding of the core principles of Tai Chi Dao Jing.

Aside from the Qi-refining method that Li Wushou initially wanted to efficiently absorb Yin and Yang energies, its core principle is the rotation of Yin and Yang energies in the dantian.

The flow pattern is different from that of Li Wushou, which is currently rotating on the same plane in his dantian.

The operation of Taiji Daojing follows two modes: the leftward rotation of the Heavenly Dao and the rightward rotation of the Earthly Dao.

In other words, the yin and yang fish are not on the same plane; the yin fish is vertical, and the yang fish is horizontal.

The two are three-dimensional, each rotating around the center of the Tai Chi symbol.

The yang fish rotates clockwise and counterclockwise, while the yin fish rotates clockwise and counterclockwise accordingly. In this way, the Tai Chi symbol is always in a dynamic balance of yin diminishing and yang waxing.

This mode of operation is the leftward rotation of the Heavenly Way and the rightward rotation of the Earthly Way, which is also the principle governing the operation of celestial phenomena, constellations, and geographical features.

When the two are combined, they become the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth!
Master Xuan Yang spoke with great passion, and Li Wushou listened with great interest, thinking that he had finally encountered a reputable sect. So he couldn't wait to ask Master Xuan Yang how to cultivate.

But soon, Li Wushou exclaimed that the familiar feeling had returned!

Because the first step of this method is to cultivate the Yin-Yang body, and not everyone is born with the ability to control Yin and Yang.

The best Dao body for cultivating the Tai Chi Dao Scripture is a Yin-Yang person, followed by twins born of the same body, and then twins born of two different bodies, where one twin consumes the other using a secret method.

Most other people, however, would seek out a person of the opposite sex whose destiny complements their own, and then use a secret method to "swallow" them.

When Master Xuanyang obtained the Taiji Dao Scripture, he ate a woman whose fate complemented his own, and that's how he cultivated the Yin-Yang Body.

However, the Yin-Yang Body he cultivated later in life had hidden dangers, which was also related to his failure to break through!

According to Xuan Yang, his breakthrough that day was going extremely smoothly when suddenly the woman whose fate complemented his, whom he had consumed many years ago, emerged from his body, clamoring to take away half of his cultivation.

The two were stuck together, and the woman tore at his flesh, trying to break free from Xuan Yang's body.

Xuan Yang naturally refused and killed the woman with one palm, but in doing so, he also extinguished half of his own life force.

At such a critical juncture, with such severe damage to his flesh and blood, Xuan Yang would naturally find it difficult to break through again, and all his efforts would be in vain!
Fortunately, Li Wushou's physical body is extraordinary, naturally capable of embracing both Yin and Yang, so he doesn't need this step.

For him, all he needed to do was start from the second part, which defined Yin and Yang.

The so-called "establishing Yin and Yang" refers to using the Yin and Yang energies refined by oneself to converge into a Yin-Yang core. This Yin-Yang core is also the core around which the Yin and Yang fish in the Tai Chi Daoist scriptures revolve.

This is the essence of this Taoist scripture!
Calming his mind, Li Wushou introspected and focused his energy on his dantian.

The power of Yin and Yang flowed out from the dantian and into new meridians.

Li Wushou's meridians were all open, which saved him a lot of effort!

The Yin and Yang energies flowed freely and continuously in the new meridians. After several cycles, the body had fully adapted to the new Qi cultivation route.

Then, with a thought, the yin and yang energies in his dantian, one above the other, converged towards the origin of the yin and yang core!

After an unknown amount of time, Li Wushou suddenly shuddered, and the entire cave began to shake.

The instant his eyes opened and closed, they seemed to resemble the pupils of Master Xuan Yang, white on the left and black on the right, before disappearing without a trace.

Li Wushou sat upright on the stone bed, exuding an otherworldly aura, instantly resembling a banished immortal!

Within the dantian, the Heavenly Dao rotates to the left and the Earthly Dao rotates to the right, with the Yin and Yang fish endlessly revolving around the Yin-Yang core.

Yin and Yang wax and wane without end. Even if Li Wushou doesn't circulate his Qi Refining Technique, his body is constantly attracting the Yin and Yang energies of heaven and earth!

This is the domineering power of the Tai Chi Dao Jing!

But that wasn't fast enough. Li Wushou prepared to lead the shadowy figure on a hunt in the Misty Land.

He needs to reach the Golden Core realm before arriving at Wangxian City!
