Chapter 7 Gunner
Four p.m.

Dark clouds obscured the sun, and a slight breeze stirred.

Zhang Yang, carrying his laptop, left the library with He Jing and headed to classroom 409 in the first teaching building for their "Microeconomics" class.

Because it's graduation season, there are basically only a few classes a week, and even if there are, it's just one class in the afternoon or morning.

The two walked around campus, attracting a lot of attention.

Zhang Yang was already outstanding in appearance, a handsome guy of the department, and now he's with He Jing, who is 172cm tall and has a model's figure. It's hard not to attract attention.

"Looks like I'll have to go to the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics forum."

Zhang Yang had already seen people taking pictures, but he wasn't particularly moved.

He doesn't care what others think; a real man focuses on his own things.

Just as they reached the first teaching building, a young man, about 168cm tall and wearing a black baseball cap, suddenly blocked their way.

"Is it convenient for you, Brother Yang?"

"you are?"

The other person's appearance was too ordinary, a typical face, and Zhang Yang had no recollection of them at all.

"Lai Weijie, the one who asked you to subscribe to all the market research reports a while ago, and even said he wanted a monthly subscription." Lai Weijie gave a brief self-introduction.

"Oh, it's you."

Zhang Yang suddenly realized.

There are hundreds of students in the investment major, and he really doesn't know all of them. The key point is that the two of them hadn't had much interaction before.

"looking for me?"

Zhang Yang got straight to the point; it was almost time for class, and he didn't want to be late.

Lai Weijie glanced at He Jing beside him, then looked at Zhang Yang and said, "Let's talk in private."

"Class is about to start, you two talk." Hearing Lai Weijie say this, He Jing knew that the two wanted to talk about private matters, so she tactfully left.

After He Jing walked away, Zhang Yang immediately asked, "Speak, what is it?"

"I'd like to hire you as a ghostwriter."

As soon as Lai Weijie finished speaking, Zhang Yang narrowed his eyes and instantly understood what the other party was thinking. He lowered his voice and said, "Wait for me in the financial analysis room on the sixth floor of the library after class."

"it is good."

Lai Weijie silently made a note of it.

The part-time job of "gunner" is very common on university campuses and has formed a complete industry chain that has penetrated into all aspects of life.

Not to mention school exams, even in professional exams, some people dare to hire someone to take the exam for them.

Since the other party dared to make the offer, Zhang Yang also wanted to know their price.

Marx's Capital also mentions that if capital has a 50% profit, it will take risks; if it has a 100% profit, it will dare to trample on all human laws; and if it has a 300% profit, it will dare to commit any crime, even at the risk of being hanged.

This statement from Capital is actually the underlying logic of the world, or rather, human nature.

As long as the profits are large enough, there are plenty of people willing to break the rules.

Determining whether a person is an adult is not based on their age on their ID card, but rather on when they understand the meaning of the statement, "You can do anything as long as you can bear the consequences."

This is also the biggest difference between society and campus, and between students and working professionals.

……

Classroom 409.

Microeconomics class.

With graying hair and wearing a pair of dull black-rimmed glasses, teacher Chen Jiafa is diligently reviewing basic knowledge with his students.

This discipline primarily studies the economic behavior of individual economic units, such as individual consumers, individual producers, and individual markets, and their interrelationships.

Because the market is composed of countless individuals, only by understanding the economic behavior of these individuals and their interrelationships can we better understand the market.

This is somewhat similar to studying human cells; only by understanding the specific functions of human cells can we better understand the human body itself.

Chen Jiafa clicked the mouse, and the demand curve data and demand table appeared on the projector screen. He glanced at the screen and said:
"As shown in the figure, the typical linear demand function is Q^d=a-β.P, where a and β are constants and a and β> 0. The demand curve corresponding to this function is a straight line."

"Let's take a look at the requirements table again."

"When the price of a product is 1 yuan, the corresponding demand is 700; when the price is 2 yuan, the corresponding demand is 600; and when the price is 3 yuan, the corresponding demand drops to 500." He glanced at the students in the classroom and asked, "We learned this in the first semester of freshman year. Can anyone tell me the demand theorem for this product?"

He Jing glanced at Zhang Yang out of the corner of her eye, and seeing that he was still typing on his laptop, she answered the question:

"If, all other factors remain constant, the price of a good rises, the quantity demanded of that good decreases; if the price of a good falls, the quantity demanded of that good increases."

"The inverse relationship between the price and demand of this product indicates that it is not a daily necessity or that there are substitutes. The price increase corresponds to the decrease in demand."

"That's right!"

Chen Jiafa gave He Jing an approving look and continued, "When a single commodity is substitutable or can be eliminated, a price increase will lead to a decline in demand in the opposite direction."

He had barely finished speaking when he changed the subject again, asking, "If the price of a single commodity rises, but demand increases instead of decreasing, what should you, as investment majors, do?"

"Hoarding!"

Wang Liu was the first to answer.

"Why?" Chen Jiafa pressed.

"Rising commodity prices and an abnormal increase in market demand mean that the commodity is irreplaceable. Such a situation may be due to problems in the supply chain, but external factors such as war or natural disasters cannot be ruled out."

Wang Liu paused for half a second before continuing, "In either case, as long as it is confirmed to be an essential daily necessity, stockpiling it is not a loss."

"What if it's just market speculation?"

He Jing spoke calmly, citing an example: "In the early stages of the SARS outbreak in 2003, rumors circulated in the market that 'iodized salt can prevent SARS,' which not only drove up salt prices abnormally but also triggered a nationwide buying frenzy."

"As I just said, as long as it's confirmed to be an essential daily necessity, we can stockpile it in advance to prevent it from being unavailable later. Even if it turns out to be a rumor, we can sell it at a discount later," Wang Liu pushed up his glasses and defended himself.

"From an investment perspective, selling at a discount already means you've incurred a loss."

He Jing said calmly.

"Both students gave excellent answers." Chen Jiafa stepped forward and smoothed things over, saying, "One approached the issue from the perspective of market scarcity, and the other from an investment perspective; both of you are correct."

As the saying goes, knowledge changes destiny.

Knowledge is not a one-dimensional thing, but a "teacher" with multiple facets.

Everyone has different cognitive dimensions and different starting points for considering problems. Even if they have the same knowledge reserves, the results will be completely opposite.

……

The "Microeconomics" class quietly ended with the teacher asking questions and the students answering, and the bell rang to signal the end of get out of class.

Since it was already evening, many students would go to the cafeteria for dinner before returning to their dormitories.

As soon as Lai Weijie heard the bell ring, he quickly left the classroom and headed to the financial analysis room on the sixth floor of the library.

"The cafeteria is open. What did the dorm leader say?" Chen Chuan asked.

"It's too early to eat now. I'm going to the library. Want to come along?" Zhang Yang asked.

"I'm not going. I made plans with Ruoruo to go to the computer lab to review the game." With graduation approaching, Xu Jiafeng, who had been timid for four years, decided to give up and play it safe.

"I also made plans with my sister from the Accounting Department."

Wang Liu smiled calmly.

"Damn! No way, are you all going to find partners already?" Chen Chuan was a little flustered.

"Give it your all."

"This is called not leaving regrets in youth."

Xu Jiafeng and Wang Liu made statements one after another.

It's April 1st now, and in two or three months they'll be "adults." If they don't confess now, they might never have another chance.

Zhang Yang echoed this sentiment, saying, "Pursue it bravely, and if things go wrong, cut your losses in time."

After being lectured by his three roommates, Chen Chuan returned to his dormitory alone, lit a Liqun cigarette, and seemed to be deep in thought.

Confessing your feelings during graduation season is definitely worthwhile.

But who should we turn to?

He thought about it for a long time but couldn't find a suitable one. The main reason was that his social circle was also small, and he couldn't even gather 20 girls as his QQ friends.

"Forget it, I don't want to think about it anymore. Let's just take off first." Chen Chuan quickly pulled out two tissues, opened his computer's D drive, and entered "airplane mode".
