Chapter 23 Lawyer, Police

Outside the New York First Precinct.

Looking at Ms. Simpson and Fudge in front of him, Luca politely shook hands with each of them to express his gratitude.

"This time, thanks to Ms. Simpson, she truly lived up to the reputation of the great lawyer my mother always praised. She really opened my eyes."

"Mr. Orange, you flatter me. It is my honor to serve you."

Having already heard far too many praises and thanks, Ms. Simpson simply nodded reservedly, her professional smile unwavering, and continued speaking.

“I have heard about your father’s passing. I’m sorry I couldn’t attend the funeral. Ms. Gina and I are friends. If you have any legal needs in the future, you can contact me anytime.”

Well, how should I put it?

Ms. Simpson's words were indeed sincere.

The main issue is that while Luca's inheritance situation isn't inherently complicated or controversial due to the existence of a clear will, the sheer size of the Orange family's assets means that legal fees related to inheritance are substantial. Even for a large law firm like Rand & Co., it's still a significant case.

At times like these, Ms. Simpson certainly wouldn't mind doing Luca a favor to secure the business.

After speaking, Luca turned to look at Fudge, who had been silently following behind Ms. Simpson ever since she appeared, trying to keep his presence to himself and become invisible.

Fudge Nelson is Matt Murdock's childhood friend, fellow lawyer, and partner in the TV series Daredevil.

If given the chance, Luca would really like to try recruiting a few street heroes who aren't so strong in their sense of justice to work for him.

Unlike those Avengers heroes whose backgrounds are all incredibly profound.

At least in Luca's memory, people like 'The Punisher' Frank Castle and Jessica Jones were not only quite capable, but they weren't entirely pure righteous people who couldn't tolerate any wrongdoing before they became street heroes.

Recruiting such well-known characters from the original work is far more cost-effective than hiring ordinary people, both in terms of ability and trustworthiness.

"Is there anything else Chief George wanted to see me about?"

George Stacy stared intently at Luca's face before speaking again.
