Chapter 2 Favorability

“Good luck!”

A young girl passed by and spotted Da Mei immediately, exclaiming in surprise.

Da Mei seems to have some British Shorthair ancestry. Her face is rounder than that of a typical tabby cat, and she has a large tail that looks like a feather duster. She is pink, has a well-defined face, and is more beautiful than many pet cats.

This is also why the cat lovers in the community have not given up their desire to adopt cats and have organized several adoption events.

The girl squatted down and reached out her hand to greet him.

Da Mei didn't even look at her properly, still clinging to Shen Xin's trouser leg.

He kept turning his head and shouting at Shen Xin.

"You want me to open the door for you?" Shen Xin understood immediately.

Da Mei called out.

Shen Xin wondered if it was just his imagination, but he thought he saw Da Mei nod her cat head.

Shen Xin stepped forward.

It's just an ordinary minivan, covered entirely with "Lalamove" stickers, including the windows, making it impossible to see inside. Normally, such modifications would result in a ticket if driven on the road.

Da Mei kept digging around, not knowing what was inside, and it even specifically sought my help.

Shen Xin went around to the driver's seat.

The driver's cab was also covered with dark black privacy film.

Shen Xin could feel the heat in the engine compartment; the car must have been parked not long ago.

Upon reaching the front, Shen Xin noticed through the windshield that a partition had been installed between the driver's cab and the passenger compartment.

The kind that's completely sealed off.

Shen Xin's heart skipped a beat. Could this vehicle be one of those mobile refueling trucks?

Turning my head, I saw a man wearing slippers. He looked to be in his thirties, with an ordinary appearance and rough, dark skin, like the kind of driver who spends all year on the road, exposed to the wind and sun.

He eyed Shen Xin warily, and Da Mei, who kept tugging at his tailgate, before stepping forward and kicking her.

Da Mei jumped out of the car to avoid him, lay on the ground, and whimpered softly at him.

"Stop yelling!" the man snapped at Da Mei, then immediately bent down to check the tailgate.

Unfortunately, he didn't see any trace, so he angrily cursed, "Get lost!"

Shen Xin frowned and asked him to open the car door and take a look.

I reckon Da Mei really did manage to get her cub into the carriage.

Unexpectedly, as soon as the car door was opened, the man's expression changed drastically, and he asked warily what was wrong.

His reaction only heightened Shen Xin's vigilance.

"I'm a policeman."

Shen Xin took out his ID and explained the reason.

Actually, even without checking if there was a kitten inside the car, Shen Xin wanted the man to open the car door and take a look.

His modification obstructs the view through the rearview mirror, which is clearly against regulations.

Upon seeing the police ID, the man's expression instantly changed. He stammered, "You're... a police officer? Really? And what did you mean by a kitten? That's impossible. I just finished driving and came back. There's no kitten here. I have to go out again tomorrow morning."

His tone changed, and he gave a nonsensical, evasive answer before turning to leave.

"Wait a moment."

Shen Xin called out to him.

This reaction is off; he's clearly a bit guilty.

Unexpectedly, the man turned tail and ran away as soon as she shouted!

What's even more amazing is that before Shen Xin could react, Da Mei suddenly darted out from beside him.

It was incredibly fast, catching up to the man in just a few steps. With a leap, it stepped on the man's back and jumped directly onto his head.

A scream rang out, and it was unclear where the person had been grabbed.

Because he was wearing slippers, which were inconvenient, the man tripped and fell to the ground.

Meanwhile, in the air, Da Mei wasn't idle. With her two thick hind legs, she unleashed a series of eighteen kicks aimed at the man's head.
